SUPERIOR ELECTRIC

I called and they had a technician at my home within an hour. He rapidly corrected the short circuit which was a really silly mistake on my part swapping out some receptacles previously. There was no issue quickly resolving the 3-way switch wiring to a light fixture where I was seeing some unusual voltages. And, they were able to install new breakers and did a nice job of the installation of two small outdoor circuits off an existing spa panel, with a minor issue. The technician was easy to work with and that's an overall positive experience. Their hourly rates were reasonable about average. They charge a lower hourly rate than many, but tack a $50 adder on the first hour so if you do 5-6 hours work, its about the same in total. They arrived at 11am, and finished at 4:30. During that 5.5 hour time period, an hour and a half (12:30 - 2:00) was spent going for parts and lunch. They billed for 6 full hours at $68, plus the $50 first hour premium, plus parts. When I asked why it was 6 hours, they said they charge for drive time to the site, but not leaving. That seemed odd given the $50 premium on the first hour which I would assume is to cover their transportation costs, then to charge an additional 30 minutes for drive time is odd. Also given they are based 2.5 miles from my home and when I called the owner said they already had a guy in my area. I also feel like at least 30 minutes of the 1.5 hours for lunch and parts should have been on their dime, for lunch. I'm satisfied as I had a bunch of odds and ends stuff and its done, with the caveat that I just went out to show the work to someone and discovered that where he installed the two circuits off the spa panel, (an upside down T), the left breaker is controlling the right circuit and the right breaker is controlling the left circuit. Since I did ask for the right breaker to control the right circuit and the left breaker to control the left circuit, and he did tell me that was how it was set up, I'm annoyed. Its not a big deal and it's probably easier to fix it myself than call them back out, so I'm changing my score from A to B on quality, and A to B on overall score because the whole point was to get this stuff handled quickly. I may give the owner a call to discuss my concerns, but its probably easier for me to fix it myself and move on. On the price, we're really only an hour apart on the what I think it should have been, and its just not worth fighting over for $68. I was going to have them come back out and bid installation of several new circuits, but now I'll probably try someone else instead. Maybe I'll have THEM correct the breakers. :)

The electrician was professional and efficient. He quickly completed the job and we are very happy with the fan's operation. Previously, they installed two outlets in our garage and we were very pleased with their work.

Their prices were lower than other companies we were looking at going with. They are going to come back in three weeks to finish the work after we had finished installing our cabinets, doing painting and some wall work. We would use them again.

THEY DO GREAT WORK, I USE THEM ALL THE TIME. WHEN THEY INSTALLED THE LIGHTS IN MY BEDROOM, THEY HAD TO RUN WIRING DOWN FROM THE ATTIC AND THROUGH THE WALL. ALL OF THIS WORK AND THE PRICE WAS STILL VERY LOW.
