Things that I felt could have been avoided with additional professionalism: 1. Ask why there are three cans of paint (one being color) in the room before painting the room white and packing up calling it a day. I instructed my significant other to provide instruction but she became distracted. That distraction cost us an additional $200.00 to add the (1) one color to the walls as Larry failed to ask one simple question...is this color for the walls? As a fellow professional, I think I would have ask a question if I had one room and (2) 1 gallon cans of paint and (1) quart. It could be that my expectations are unreasonable these days...man... 2. We had no idea that the doors, window sill and ceiling were not considered part of the room. Now I know. 3. Quality control was an issues. Blotchy paint jobs. I will live with it because I am now over budget for that space. At any rate,$150.00 became $300.00+ bucks... To be fair, Larry did stick around to paint the color on the wall. We felt hustled!

We are pleased with the results.There were a few specks of paint on the wood floor easily removed afterwards.

Larry was prompt and professional. I'm not sure if our expectations were unreasonable. This was for a rental unit and it was not cleaned. There were cobwebs on the window sills and sawdust in the drawers. We thought Larry would include cleaning the surfaces as part of his prep but that didn't seem to be the case. Also we thought he'd fill cracks and crevices with caulking and fill all holes and that didn't seem to be the case. Overall the job he did was fine for a rental but probably not if we lived there. I did appreciate that he worked with our tight schedule and did the work at night. I think if I were to do this over again, I'd be more clear on what I was asking for and ask him what services he provided.

We hired Painting by Kaighens Enterprises to paint the interior of our home based on good Angie?s List reviews. We are disappointed with the quality of the work that was done, finding it not to be up to what is expected from a professional. Holes were painted over without being filled first. Trim paint is sloppy with drips, uneven painting and smudges. Lines where trim and wall meet are not clean and crisp. There are several places on the walls where the original paint shows through. There are spots in the bathroom where paint is beginning to blister and peel. Paint in the bathroom (as well as parts of the living and dining area) was put on over new drywall and we suspect the area was not primed first (as specified in the contract). Faceplates were not removed from the walls; they were painted around instead. (When we realized that, we removed the faceplates ourselves.)

I wouldn't give them such a good grade. That was awhile ago. They used more paint than they said they would. So they went back and bought it. I ended up having to pay more. There were a lot of drips everywhere. Somebody didn't even notice until I had the drapes open and they reflected on the molding around the patio door. It looked oddly terrible. There were drips on my brand new bathroom I just had spent ten thousand dollars on all this stuff in the bathroom and there were drips on the new tile. So no I would not give them a good rating. I mean the guy came back. I called him because I had him do the bedroom and the bathroom and the bedroom was the flat and the bathroom was the semi gloss when they got the new stuff they switched them up. It was totally obvious when I got home from work. It wasn't the deal. They didn't do the deal they charged me more. They said that deal didn't apply and they charged me more money and I didn't quite understand that because it was actually less for footage just doing the bathroom and bedroom but anyway. I mean he came back and fixed the mistakes. I didn't call him back again because there was still stuff that I had to go over after the second time he came back. I wasn't happy with it at all. I felt like, you know, like my nephew could have done that. I just went ahead and paid what they wanted me to pay because i wanted to have it done because I had just finished all this remodeling in the bathroom and be done with so we could use the bathroom. He came back and redid it but it wasn't to satisfaction. They were here on time. He was professional. He had to take responsibility for what they did and he came back in good faith to fix it.

Very responsive to our initial inquiry and came to our house for an estimate. Stated the big deal from Angie's would apply but we would have to pay some extra for ceiling painting and a chair line area in one room. Scheduling was easy. The painting was completed as expected and looked excellent. I will use them in the future.

I had a very disappointing interaction with Mr. Kaighen. I emailed him about the $150 special for one bedroom, and given that the size of my bedroom was a bit larger than the special, he quoted me $175 over email. He estimated that the room would need 3 gallons of paint, which he offered to get for me for $100 which he stated was a better rate than I could buy it for. We made an appt for Thursday afternoon at 1:30 pm. I took half the day off of work to be home for the appt. At 1:50 pm, Mr. Kaighen called and asked me whether this was an appt for an estimate or for the actual paint job. I told him he had already quoted me $175 over email and I had bought the paint so I was expecting him to paint that day. He also thought the appt was at 2:30 pm. He said he was working on a project that needed to be finished that day and asked to reschedule for the next day on Friday. I told Mr. Kaighen I likely couldn't be home until about 3:30 or 4 pm but that I would call him at 2:30 pm to confirm when I could be home. Around that time, I texted him and said I wouldn't be home from work until 4 pm. He texted back saying that was too late to start the job and tried to reschedule for Saturday morning. I rearranged things at work again and said I could be home at 3:45. He still asked to reschedule. I had already bought 3 gallons of the best paint available at Home Depot for $90, and given his inflexibility for a 15-min difference in appt time when I had already taken half a day off and left work early to accommodate his schedule, I was extremely disappointed and canceled our arrangement. As it turns out, I only needed a little more than one gallon of paint to do 2 coats in the room, so I am suspicious why a professional painter would quote me for 3 gallons of paint. Mr. Kaighen was polite throughout the transaction, but very unprofessional in his inflexibility to work with my schedule when I had made accommodations for his.

We contacted Larry via his website contact form on a Tues. Larry scheduled an appt for the previous Monday to provide a quote. Ours was a small job. We told him we wanted to use the same paint brand and color as used by the builder when our home was built. We told Larry where he could get the paint. Larry was the best quote we got and we scheduled for him to complete the work the Thursday that same week. Larry and his helper arrived on time and started right away after tracking down the correct store and color paint we wanted. They were done before he thought they would be which worked well for me as I had to be in the office that afternoon. They did a great job, did not leave a mess and even put down cardboard so they did not get paint on the ground around the fence. We will definitely use Larry for future painting needs and would refer him to friends and family.

I emailed this provider via Angie's List on 2/6/15, stating that I need a bedroom painted before the first of March. I received a reply the following day from the owner stating that he would like to come to my home during the week of 2/9 to view the room and provide an estimate. That same day I replied back with my schedule of availability for that week. I received no further contact from the provider.

Arrived slightly early, done in 2+ hours. Excellent job.

Only applied one coat, so previous color showed through, did not cut to the ceiling properly.

Larry was very professional, had all the equipment he needed and called ahead to let me know he would be a little late (traffic). I can't think of any reason I wouldn't use him again...... in fact, I've already emailed him to arrange more painting. I certainly would recommend him to anyone who has some painting they need done....oh yes, and two coats of paint.

The painter arrived about five minutes late because of unusually thick traffic. He prepared the surfaces to be opainted and masked off the areas that were to be kept from drips. His contract was for four walls, no trim or ceilings. But because there were only two walls, he threw in the ceiling. He did a very good job. I think he is a perfectionist.

Larry was very prompt in arriving at 8:00 a.m. and very professional. It only took him a couple of hours to paint my bathroom but it was still good quality work. I have already hired Kaighen enterprises again to come out and do two more jobs for me in the near future.

Prompt, professional, and clean. The kitchen turned out wonderful and was done in 2.5 hours. In and out! :))

Besides the work looking great, he was prompt, trustworthy and meticulous and the work was done quickly. We have some more work to do in the future and Larry will be the one we call.

It went well. He was very accomdating with changing the type of paint and repainting one room. He had us walk through and for for touch ups. It was a good experience. I have recommended them to family.
