Description of Work: We needed to replace our lightweight concrete tile roof on our twenty seven year old home. We purchased the home eight years ago and had to have leaks repaired almost every year since we moved in. Instead of continuing to throw good money at a bad roof, we decided to bite the bullet and look into replacement. My wife and I went to one of the Home & Garden Shows at Cal Expo last year and signed up with several roofers to get estimates. We were amazed at the variety of choices we had; composite, MORE TILE and then there was the stone coated steel product we selected. We did our homework and had several bids presented to us. Much to our disappointment we were being pushed toward composite or more of the dreaded tile. The only thing all the roofers agreed upon was that while the lightweight tile should last forever as long as no one broke them, the underlying paper fails after about 15 years, hence our problem. We eventually selected Ironstone Roofing after meeting their sales representative, Joe Wagner. Joe was a very pleasant gentleman, who was incredibly patient as he answered the litany of questions we asked him during his presentation. There was no pressure, something that we could not say of the other roofers we met with. During our first meeting, Joe provided us with a list of homeowners in the greater Sacramento Area that we drove out to so we could get an idea of how the product would look. That made our choice so much easier and we signed with them on our next meeting. We found their price to be competitive, which was crucial to us because we had a lot of roof to replace. The Ironstone crew arrived bright and early putting many solid days of work in pretty hot conditions. They were very polite and respectful with my family and friends they met during the job. At the end of each day, a crewmember pushed a broom like magnet around the property to collect any stray screws, or metal shavings that came off during the workday. The roof lived up to our expectations and more. The appearance of our house was changed dramatically. We continue to receive many compliments from friends, neighbors and complete strangers who have come by while I have been in the front yard. I do not have exact numbers to offer, but I would estimate that our utility bill dropped about 20% over the summer as a result of the new roof, and its ability to get the heat out that the tile couldn't. On a hot day, you can stand in the street and see the heat radiating off of the roof, but the interior in nice and cool. We still run the A/C, but not as much as in years gone by.

Description of Work: This company removed and replaced our shake roof with a metal roof (DECRA).

Description of Work: Tim replaced our old wood shingle roof with metal shingles. After researching the different roofing options we chose to install a Decra Shake XD roof because it looked better and stronger than competitive solutions.

Description of Work: Replaced dry rot on eaves. Had to remove and replace Decra metal roof tiles.

Description of Work: A new roof was installed. I also had 4 solar tube skylights installed at the same time. The material used for the roof was DECRA, a stone coated steel product.
