A Better Choice Painting

The company came out to give an estimate for the job. It was supposed to be provided yesterday. They didn’t come through, so I have contracted with someone else.

They were punctual and flexible on the schedule. They responded to all my concerns in a timely manner. There were a couple of areas that needed rework so I give them an A-, because of that, but overall it was a great value. I used an Angie's list special offer and the labor was only $999 for the full exterior painting of the house. A great deal!

I called to make an appointment to have the one room painted. The lady on the phone was only concerned about telling me what was not included (ceiling, trim, doors, window sill). Then when we discussed a time they were booked for months. I bought the deal around February and they couldnt fit me in until August. I never was able to set anything up with them so I basically wasted $89. Makes me very leary to use Angies List Deals again.

They came out on the 6th of April to look over the project. They were on time that day and advised they would get back with me right away with the estimate. I didn't hear from him and still didn't hear from them and so I messaged them on April 11th from the website. On April the 16th they advised they had death in the family and would get in touch with me asap. I contacted Angie's List because I was approaching the 30 day refund window. I finally heard from them yesterday on April 27th and they advised that there might be additional caulking costs as well as cost for paint failure. I have decided to cancel the Big Deal and contacted Angie's List for my full refund.

They were fantastic. They did a great job. My wife took care of it. I know that she was so pleased with the job they did and that’s what’s nice. They were very courteous. They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. It was done well. The cost was very reasonable. It’s a good cost. They showed up on time and finished on time. It’s a very nice company.

The service was ok but it was not quite the experience I was expecting.

The paint job was okay, but the customer service was awful. There were two contact names for the company, "Alexis" and "Dominique"; turns out they are the same person. Emails addressed to me were seldom signed by a person so I didn't know who I was talking to. The name on the contract I signed was "Matt". I purchased the deal in November and the power washing was scheduled toward the end of November, but the painting was postponed throughout December due to inclement weather. After a full month of sun in January I heard nothing from Alexis/Dominique, so I had to contact her myself to schedule a date for the painting. The painting finally happened in mid-February by Dorian, who was the best person of the crew and the only person I was in contact with face-to-face. It was Dorian who told me that Dominique and Alexis was the same person. Dorian called me to meet him in the afternoon on the last day of the painting for final payment and walk through. However, when I got there he was still several hours from finishing. I felt reluctant to pay when the job wasn't done, but I had taken time off of work to meet him, so I paid anyway. Dorian said that Alexis/Dominique would send me a final invoice for the entire job once it was finished, but I never got it. I just expected more professionalism overall. I expected to meet Alexis/Dominique in person. The format of contract I had initially signed was skewed and pixellated, like it was improperly scanned and converted to a PDF. I was never addressed by my first name in the emails; I felt anonymous and like my business wasn't appreciated.

I purchased an Angie's deal for $299 this only covered 300 sq ft. So I paid additional for the extra sq footage and painting of the vaulted ceiling. All total including the $299 I paid about $1400 for the service. The crew was timely in arriving to do the work of removing the popcorn ceiling and re-texturizing. For the most part they cleaned up pretty well considering how messy removal and spraying of texturizer can be. There was one room where I am not sure if they were training someone but there was quite a bit of debris left on the floor and furniture. Also there was one area on the ceiling that did not take well. Trying to get someone out to fix this one area pretty much turned into a nightmare. On the day that the vaulted ceiling was painted, a technician also came to correct ceiling that did not take well. The fix was less than adequate so I called to have someone else come out to fix it. On 3 separate occasions the date for the fix was changed, two of those dates was changed in less than an hours time of arrival. This of course is not convenient for the customer particularly if you work and are changing dates with your employer. When the work was finally done it took all of 5 minutes to fix. The fix is adequate you can still see a little difference in the texture if you are looking for it. The paint job of the vaulted ceiling is great and clean up after the job was also good. The owner and employees are friendly enough but perhaps they bite off and make scheduling promises that they cannot make. One of the questions above is whether I would use them again. I marked yes but I would make sure everything is correctly done before I paid them in full.

Ended up not using this provider and requested a refund (which Angie's list processed). My reason: I asked the provider what happens at the end of four hours and the painters are not done. I was told after four hours, the painters are done. What I was interested in hearing is that the painters would provide me a time-estimate on the work I wanted done before starting the job and if the job exceeded four hours, I would pay the difference. But the provider did not seem willing to work with me.

I bought the deal but was unable to use as of yet.

I heard from them and they set an appointment. I stayed home all day waiting for them and they didn't show or call. I have decided not to use this service provider.

Sorry, this was so long ago I can't remember all details. I used an Angie's coupon; that's why I can't recall price. The man showed up on time and was very nice and professional, and did a good job.

They were professional and courteous enough, but the end result wasn't quite as good as I was hoping for. There are a few pretty obvious drip marks on some of the cabinet fronts and there is paint that I will need to scrape off on one of the glass fronts, one of the ovens and on the brand new cooktop. I'm a little resentful that I am now needing to spend time fixing these mistakes. I have painted a lot of furniture over the years and feel like I could have done just as good as a job.

The Big Deal service was okay. I have used them twice. I used them one time for interior painting which was good and then I used them for exterior painting which was not quite as good. The exterior painting was done after the Big Deal service was performed. I had to pay extra because I was having one room painted but I wanted two or three different colors used and I was confused by the outcome. The interior painting was fine but I had problems with the exterior painting.

We have had to reschedule with this company several times and no longer want or need the service. They also stopped responding at one point to our calls and messages.

I was happy with the work that was done. The house is pretty old with paint chipping off. I saw that they were doing a lot of patching and prep work. The final result looked nice. They promised a five year warranty. The crew was friendly and professional. One thing to note: they charge $75 per window and if you have a lot of windows this will add up to be a large sum. I elected to leave some of the window trims (7 out of 23 windows) not painted so I can paint it myself after I fix some dry rot.

They added things on to the price.They didn't clean up very well. The staff was friendly. They were prompt.

Professional from start to finish. Excellent communicator and kept all promises.

Set appointment for 12/16. They did not show. I called later that morning and also texted them. The office called back shortly and said they had scheduled the job for the 17th in error. We set up the next day for the work to be done. They showed up promptly the following morning. they were thorough, and completed the job in a timely manner. they gave me an adjustment for the scheduling error. I would use them again.

Overall the experience went well. There were times it was difficult to get in touch with them and on the first day, the painter assigned to our job was re-routed to another job prior to starting our job. The gentleman did show up a few hours later and was very professional and took our doors down to have them painted at their warehouse. They painted the remaining cabinets and came back in a few days to re-hang the doors on the cabinets and any touch up. They were very professional through the entire experience. They also offered to come back within 6 months for any touch up that may have been missed or as the paint dried and did not cover completely. When they were called back, they were very responsive. I would recommend them highly.

It was good. They got the job done in 2 days. The cleanup was good and I had no problems with the scheduling.

Lousy...never made contact I want a refund!!

The house didn't look cleaner to me...the house is old but it was dull...also took the address numbers off. Cracked the treshholdto the screen door leading to the back yard
