MIRAGE SCREEN DOORS

Cris came out and demonstrated the product, took the measurements and set up the appointment for the install. At that point he took a deposit of 1/2 the price. The installers showed up exactly on time, introduced themselves and immediately went to work. They were complete professionals as thew went about installing my new screens, and were finished within 90 minutes. The screens were installed exactly as I wanted them, and they look great, and work great. Before the guys left, they cleaned up all their debris (and even cleaned up some leaves and dirt that was there before they got there) and carted off all the boxes. I gave them a B on the price only because I think the cost of retractable screen doors is pretty high to begin with. I did a lot of research before choosing Mirage doors, and I have to say they were NOT the most expensive. Their product does feel the most durable, only time will tell. I saw a number of DIY screen kits, and watched all the how-to videos. It looked a bit too advanced for my experience level, and I think, at least in my case, it was worth it to pay someone else to do the install. Considering the quality of their workmanship and their professionalism, the price was not unreasonable.

I researched retractable screen doors on line and received two price quotes. I called and left a message first thing in the morning, but did not receive a call back until mid-afternoon. I was out, so I again had to place another call, and the same thing happened...it took hours (until the next day) before I actually got to speak with someone, even though I had been given a "direct" phone number to use.. Because of the price, I told Debbie I wanted to check elsewhere (This company was approx. $55 higher than the other company, but made claims about being the best--only time will tell). Next day I decided to go ahead and go with this company, and again, had to leave another message. I finally spoke with Debbie to set up the appointment. Because I was leaving town the next night for vacation, I had to take photos of my door and e-mail them to her so the installer would know what to expect with the install. In my e-mail, I had asked Debbie to respond to my home and work e-mail addresses when she received the photos. I left town having received no response to my e-mail. When the day came for the install, I had received no confirming e-mail or phone call, and no charge had hit my credit card, so I sent an e-mail a half-hour prior to installation appointment to Debbie stating I was worried as I had heard nothing. Over an hour later, I got a response that everything was fine and the installer would be there in 20 mins. The installer showed up, installed the housing, upper and lower tracks, screen, and magnet in under an hour. Installer was very nice, professional, and qualified. Did a good job with installation, but I feel the screen (which is not under warranty) is very thin compared to screen I recently used to replace a window screen.The finished product looks very good. Unfortunately, I do not think the poor initial contact, quality of the screen, and limited parts making up the product justify the price I paid. I think this, and other retractable screens, have a HUGE profit margin!

I thought it was a little expensive, but I don t have anything to compare it. I thought they did good work. He had a little trouble with one, but he worked it out. I would say he does a very good job.
