An appointment was made for the next day. the plumber came out on time and was very professional and nice. he checked the problem and made a suggestion as to how to fix it. he did not push to sell me additional services or products. i will use them again when i re-do my bathroom.
Description of Work: i reported a problem with the toilet now always successfully flushing. the plumber came out and looked at both toilets, asked questions and said that it was a toilet that needed to be upgraded.

My husband and I had been considering tankless heater and other options and Robbie spent lots of time on phone with me explaining pros and cons and what would be involved (construction and expenses) for each option. He came out to give us a quote and again could tell us where and how things could be located. Their price was a little higher than competitor but their service and detailed quote was so much better that I felt much more confident going with them. I would definitely use them again for any plumbing need.
Description of Work: Removed old water heater and replaced with new Bradford White 50 gal tank water heater. Replaced plumbing and gas lines and installed pan under heater. Pulled permit for installation.

 + 0 moreRandy showed up on time, inspected my home to include testing the water pressure. recommended against installing the water filtration system I had purchased because it would only filter the hot water in the house which defeats the purpose of the system. He replaced the water pressure regulator because my inlet presser was too high and reconfigured the water softener loop. He was here maybe an hour, cleaned up everything and left everything just as he had found it. He was very professional and took the time to explain everything in a way that's easy to understand.
Description of Work: I initially called to have a whole-house water filter system installed. They were able to come out a few days later so I made an appointment. Upon arrival, Randy inspected the water lines and suspected the only place available for installation would be outside on the front side of the house. Since the water system is not to be installed outside based on manufacturer's instructions, not to mention HOA hassles, he found a possible alternate location in my garage. To be sure the lines serviced the whole house, he installed a quick shut-off valve in the water softener loop located and tested which parts of the house were actually serviced. He also tested the water pressure coming into the home, without me having to request it, and noted that the water pressure was at 89. After testing, he confirmed that the loop only serviced the hot water lines. Since the only place I would be able to install the filtration system only serviced the hot water lines to the house, I decided to return the system for a refund. Since Randy was already here, he streamlined the loop in my garage, that looked like someone put it together with an erector set, and left the shut off valve in the new loop giving me an easily accessible hot water shut-off point. He replaced the water pressure regulator bringing my water pressure down to 56. I am thankful for the thoroughness of Randy's work. Because of the testing he did beforehand, I'm not stuck with a 1,000 dollar water filtration system that only filters the hot water line into the house. I didn't compare pricing with other companies, so I can't comment on how good a deal I got on the price. However, I did get a 10% Angie's list discount and he saved me a thousand bucks by testing my lines first and giving me honest feedback. Especially considering he could have charged me more to simply install the system as requested and left me with a filtration system that only filters hot water. Excellent service!

 + -1 moreOur shower would not turn off after use on Sunday 11/21. We called Plumbing plus and they indicated some one would call us right back. After a few minutes we were talking to Rick and gave the description of the problem. Rick asked a few questions to assess the situation and he gave us the rate for him to send some one over right away and the lower rate if we could wait the next day until Monday. I sensed Rick was trying to help us and save us some money at the same time. He told us that it was ighly likely he could not get the part we needed opn Sunday. We decided to shutnoff the water and wait until the next day. Monday morning Plumbing plus called us exactly when Rick said they would and scheduled an appointment for later the same morning. Ray showed up on time and assessed the situation and gave us our options. Ray was able to disassemble the valve and determined that if he could find a replacement cartridge (it was a fairly old valve) we could get by without replacing the entire valve. Ray left with the old cartridge and phoned us back about 45 minutes later that he found one but had to go to El Cajon to get it. He told us this would add to the bill and gave us a revised estimate and allowed us to decide what we wanted to do. Ray returned with the new valve cartridge on time and installed it in minutes. I felt the folks at Plumbing Plus always kept us in the loop and we were informed of our options and what the alternatives would cost us. They then did their best to minimize the cost impact to us and they always did what they said they were going to do and they did it on time. We value this level of service that we have come to expect from this company. This is the 3rd time they have helped us and the level of service has been the same over the last 5 years or so. We will continue to look to Plumbing Plus for our plumbing needs as we've been completely satisfied with their work and recommend them highly to others.

 + -1 moreI have used Plumbing Plus to do my whole house repipe and was very happy with them except for one person. Ray came at one point during the repipe and was rude and tried to charge me for extra things. All the other people were extremely professional and nice. Today I had a plumbing emergency on a Sunday, water all over the floor of my house. I called Plumbing Plus who paged Ray. When he called me his first response was "What do you want me to do about it?" He then proceeded to tell me that it was going to cost me $350 for him to just show up at my house and that didn't include any work. He further told me I should just not use any water until Monday and have somebody come then. According to Ray, I could use the toilet or shower but I would be taking a chance but, I should still wait an entire day. I told him I was going to use another company because I found him unprofessional and he hung up on me. While I find the majority of Plumbing Plus to be extremely professional, you always run the risk of ending up with Ray. Because of him, I will no longer use Plumbing Plus.
Description of Work: I chose to use a different plumbing company.

 + -1 moreOn Saturday at 5 PM, the regulator for our main water line to the house sprung a leak and was spewing water 10 feet up into the air. I called several plumbers and Randy from Plumbing Plus was the first to call me back. Randy was excellent. He spent a lot of time on the phone with me just helping to diagnose the problem, and making sure he would have the parts to fix it before making the service call. Over the phone he was able to determine that our regulator should still be under warranty (from the numbers on the regulator) and he told me that I should try and contact the other plumber that installed it. I was not able to get hold of that plumber, and I did not want to go without water for the weekend, so I called Randy back. He told me he could probably work a deal since the regulator was under warranty where he would just charge me for labor. Randy arrived and knew right away what the problem was. The person who had installed the regulator previously had used the wrong fittings for it, and the regulator was still good. It was an expensive, emergency call, but Randy was professional, prompt, efficient, and very good at communicating price, problems, resolutions, etc.
Description of Work: Water main to our house sprung a leak on a Saturday afternoon. Randy from Plumbing Plus came out on a Saturday evening and determined that the fittings for our recently installed water regulator (which had been installed by a different company) were the wrong type. Randy replaced them with the correct fittings, and all is well.

 + -1 more(1) Installed new garbage disposer. The kitchen has a 3-bowl sink and the original disposer was installed in the middle (shallow) sink. We asked the plumber to move the disposer to one of the deep sinks, and although that required some rearranging under the sink, he did a super job. Very happy with the quality of the disposer -- much quieter than original. (2) Faucet handle was not a standard type, but the plumber was able to disassemble the handle and repair it. At my request, he also adjusted the toilet function on three toilets. (3) The plumber found the original installation was faulty, and installed a new seal. He was extremely careful and did not spill a drop of water! All the plumbers with this company have been friendly, knowledgeable, and professionally competent.
Description of Work: (1) broken garbage disposer. (2) (three months later) a broken faucet handle. (3) (a couple months later) a leaking toilet from a broken seal.

 + -1 moreafter reading all the positive reports, we were looking forward to having Plumbing Plus give us an estimate for replacing a bathroom fixture. the scheduled appointment time window was 10am- 12noon on 8/31/2010. Close to 12 noon we received a phone call with apologies that the plumber was running late. The next window was 12noon-2pm same day. As the time ran out on that window, we were told that he was finishing up a job in Poway and was on his way. We decided to postpone appointment to next day. My assumption was that he would arrive (or call) first thing in the morning. We waited from 8-10:30. Finally, I called and was told that he scheduled us for late that afternoon. Very disappointing.

They sent out a very helpful and professional plumber, who confirmed that the source of the leak was the failed water heater, pulled out the old one and put in a new model of the same size. Total time from panicked phone call to completion of the installation: two and a half hours! The fellow was extraordinarily helpful, giving sensible advice about the various options. Not a cut-rate outfit, but no extra charge for the after-hours nature of the call, and the 10% Angie's List discount was much appreciated. Really first rate.

 + -1 moreExcellent. The plumber came out within 2 hours of placing the service call, even though it wasn't an emergency. He quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced the fixture and most importantly STOPPED THE NOISE.
Description of Work: The water pipes in my house vibrated whenever a faucet was turned off or the toilet finished filling, a condition called "water hammer". I read on the Internet that it could lead to pipe failure, so I contacted my Home Warranty company who sent out a plumber to fix it. They recommended installing a pressure regulator, but the water pressure was in normal range, so I didn't have them do the work. The noise continued, so I called Plumbing Plus. The plumber, Randy, immediately diagnosed the problem as coming from a leaking fill valve in the toilet. He replaced it and the noise stopped. It was a relatively inexpensive solution. If the first plumber had installed the pressure regulator, it wouldn't have fixed the problem and I would have been out several hundred dollars. I can't thank Randy enough!

He was pleased to learn that the referral came through AL, and confirmed that I'd get the discount. He estimated that the minimum trip charge ($150 before AL discount) should cover the labor. His plumber arrived on time, was able to remove the part that remained in the wall. He then determined that my replacement from Home Depot was unsuitable (it was slightly too small), so he had to supply the part. That's it. Pleasant, efficient, reasonably priced (as plumbers go).
Description of Work: Repaired a shower head connection pipe. The old pipe had broken off inside the wall, while replacing the shower head.

Description of Work: We had a leak in our shower wall and were pretty sure that it was due to our old bathtub/shower valve. Robert from Plumbing Plus was great. On the day he arrived to give the estimate, he showed up on time and was honest with what needed to be replaced (the bathtub valve/faucet). The estimate was a fair price. There was no travel charge or hidden extra fees. The day of the job, he showed up on time and was done in less than 2 hours. I was pleasantly surprised by our experience.

 + 0 morePhone estimate was "$145 minimum plus parts." Seemed a bit high but I said OK because he's local. When Robert arrived, he estimated total cost to remove plastic drain pipes, clean out, and replace with new pipes was $282.96. He didn't break it down until I asked him to. $241.50 labor including travel time (10 minutes from Poway to Poway) plus $35 tool charge and $6 material. He could have done it in under an hour. I expected the $145 minimum would have covered his labor and travel time. Honestly, I'd rather live with a slow drain than pay such a rip-off price.
Description of Work: Clean clogged bathroom drain, replace undersink plastic piping.

 + -1 moreThe faucet wouldn't turn off and my husband and I were out of town - my mother-in-law and children were the ones in the house. We contacted them and they came out next day to see what the problem was, they were prompt and courteous to my mother-in-law and called us to explain what they needed to do. Because of the type of faucet we had, they had to order the part and return 3 days later - so it was mostly eating out for us that weekend. Early morning Tuesday, Ray arrived with the faucet fixture - he was thorough, careful and efficient., also a very nice and professional guy. He told me to avoid spraying the sink as the back wasn't completely sealed and he saw some water leaks under the sink, but nothing serious he assured me. He chose the fixture for us, since the part they were looking for wasn't available, and it was perfect - he based it on look, quality and matched it to the kitchen. Ray was great. The price was high, but mostly also because of the fixture that we needed. He gave me suggestions on our bathrooms, which he checked out because there were leaks in one of them, and he fixed it by tightening it - no problem! I definitely will be using their services again.

 + -1 moreI had five different plumbers give an estimate for this large job (replacing chunk of main sewer line under house that was clogged with tree roots). Robert Hannis was the plumber from Plumbing Plus. He was clean, professional, and on-time. Unlike several other plumbers, he did not make disparaging and unprofessional remarks about his competitors (or smell like a chain-smoker, which is a challenge for my allergies). He was on-time to the minute. The job took two days, and he cleaned up very well after the first day even though he was only part-way through the job. His apprentice put a small dent in one water line as they were completing the repair, and he took the time to point this out to me and replace (at no charge). He and his apprentice were careful in the removal and demolition stage, so that none of my backsplash or counter tiles were damaged as they were removed. He completed the project within the promised time frame with ease, did high quality work, and performed the exact same repairs outlined by all five different companies who provided an estimate, at about $500 - $1,500 less than what the competitors would have charged. From now on, this will be the company I call for plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Removed vanity and toilet from main hallway bathroom. Pulled up floor tiles. Jackhammered through concrete foundation. Dug out dirt (about 2 x 4 foot hole) to reach main sewer line under house and connecting lines from two toilets, two vanities and a shower. Found holes in pipes where tree roots had penetrated and grown. Cut out and replaced about 4 feet of main sewer line under house, plus several different connecting lines. Replaced dirt, poured new concrete foundation. Also installed water pressure regulator and shut-off valves.

 + -1 moreThe work was satisfactory as up to now, Because of the condition of our kitchen faucet, the work has no warranty on labor or parts. The work performed on our laundry faucet has not warranty eiher, on labor or parts.
Description of Work: 1- The spout of our Moen kitchen faucet was hard to turn and was making a grinding noise. the plummer removed the spout and handle and cleaned the rust which had accumulated; all the loose rust was removed and the faucet was put back in place. The plummer told us that replacing the faucet would cost us around $ 650.00 , labor and parts included and we chose not to do it. We decided to think about it and do it at a later date.. 2-.The laundry faucet was leaking when the water was turned on. The plummer inspected the water lines and found a leak under the sink, around the faucet trim. He loosened the faucet, cleaned under the trim and resealed the faucet trim.

Description of Work: We used Plumbing Plus to do quite a few things. They put in a re-circulating device so you can just push a button and get hot water instantly from the tap. It works very well. They also did some plumbing with our fixing up of the kitchen.

 + 0 moreThey were very quick, very efficient and very expensive. I like them because they gave me good advice. They came over and we talked about the problem with the sewer line and about the gas line. They gave me advice about the sewer line so that I could do it myself. They did pretty well. The people try to make money but they didn't make money. They explained me in a friendly manner as how to do it myself. They were excellent and friendly. They helped me with the job and they were not looking at making money as much as they were trying to help us. Their price was expensive but everybody else was on the same line. They cleaned up after themselves. They took the things out when they were doing the inspection and they put everything back that they took up for making the assessments. They were good in calling us back and telling when they were coming. I wish there was something above excellent when it comes to professionalism. I am not related to them in anyway but I would recommend them to anybody and everybody.
Description of Work: Plumbing Plus Inc did line the gas line and the dishwasher line in November.

Through the work was for 2 days, but they charged us for just one day. They were very knowledgeable. They are not the cheapest but they do a good job. I know cheaper plumbers but I used them because I wanted the job done well. To me they are professional plumbing people.
Description of Work: Plumbing Plus Inc replaced the European shower we have. They did not replace the entire unit but they had to change the parts.
