Garage Doors Unlimited

I was disappointed in the service technician. He looked at the broken spring and said that I should replace all 4 springs, 2 on each side. I asked him for the cost and he said $120; I assumed that was for each side. I did not hear him say "each," although later he said that he did. I was astounded when he presented me his bill, charging me $480 for the spring replacement. He gave me his business card and said that he was a independent contractor, and that if I wanted further service, I should call him directly. I found that to be highly unprofessional. His work was satisfactory, but I don't think I will use Garage Doors Unlimited again.

Everyone we worked with at this company was extremely professional. They were patient about waiting for HOA approval. The installer really knew his stuff and worked without stopping. Installation took about 5 hours.

They have been fabulous. I went through Costco and have a two-year warranty because I used my American Express. I feel like they did a wonderful job and I am covered against any issues. I had ordered the door a long time ago and they held it for me because I wasn't ready for them to put it in since I wasn't going to be home. They were actually very accommodating on my time schedule. All of the people I dealt with were wonderful. The guy who installed it was quick and tidy and very nice. I have no complaints at all about them. The price was middle of the road. It wasn't the cheapest but it was good quality and I know that they will stand by it. I went through Costco and I know that they will stand by me if there are any issues. I did get much cheaper prices but I did a couple of check, and when a company has changed their name more than three times in five years there has got to be a reason, and I didn't like the choices for the reason, so I didn't go with them. I learnt a lot by doing Angie's List and getting different bids. The quality is great and it is a good door. They would have to totally botch putting it in, which they didn't do. They called me right back every time I called them. They were here when they said they would be here. They are wonderful people and I think that they did a really nice job. They didn't try to hard sell me on things I didn't need. I would recommend them.

I smashed into my garage door with my car. It wouldn't close. I called Garage Doors unlimited after their operation hours, and the owner came to my home and closed it for the night. I felt he really went above and beyond in his service that night. He didn't even charge me. The following week they showed up and repaired the door with the appropriate parts. Garage Doors Unlimited is a fantasitic company and I would reccomend them to anyone.

Initial response was good. Appointment was approximate April 27th and complete order was placed at that time with 10% down. Was told we'd be contacted in 3 weeks to schedule install. Three weeks later, told me they miscalculated estimate (addition error) and it would be $200 additional. Called several times the end of May 4 weeks, with no return phone calls. Finally found out it was a special order and was told it would be ready by June 15th. Was not contacted until mid-July to schedule install. At install time, wrong panel was sent, but installer was awesome. After being delayed for several hours, he stayed until 9pm to complete job. Appears to be good work. Entire turnaround, excluding personal delays, was approx 3 months vs 3 weeks. And I initiated all calls or delays. Most phone calls were not returned.

When they finally arrived to fix the problem they had caused, they brought the wrong materials (I had to go buy the right materials), they didn't have the right tools (I had to lend them tools) and I had to assist the person with the door. After they left I had to repair all the damaged trim and repaint the door and trim. The experience and service could not have been much worse. I would never suggest these people to anyone. I only paid them some money to get a receipt to prove they had been there and caused the situation.

From the front office, to the estimator, to the installer -- all very professional, friendly and reasonably priced. This is my second experience with this company in the past 6 years. Would no doubt use them again (though I'm running out of garage doors to replace).

GREAT JOB, FRIENDLY PEOPLE, CAME ON TIME, WERE FAST, AND EFFICIENT.

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH THIS TYPE OF COMPANY IS ZERO. BUT THE GENTLEMAN PERFORMING THE WORK DID IT IN A TIMELY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER.
