I signed a contract with them for the work and they were supposed to provide me with the plans for the work prior to starting the work. However, I did not get any plans for the work. When they provided plans, they changed the terms of the contract which costed me an additional $1000.00 because I reascended the contract. His men urinated all over the side of my new house because there was no bathroom. There were about 6-8 people there doing the work. There was a lack of supervision from the landscaper through the entire job. The only time he showed up to do work/supervise was when he wanted money. Because of this, there were several mistakes that needed to be redone. Then the plants that he brought out were so substandard that they looked like they were second picks. Even though the containers were the specified amount, I had him pull them back out and saw that the plants were actually smaller than they were supposed to be. I made him take 2 of the 3 trees back. He warranted the plants for a year, we had about 7 or 8 plants die. He came out and said he would replace all of the plants but he never came back and never replaced anything.

Darren originally came in September to give me an estimate for rebuilding my deck, taking out concrete and replacing it with pavers, and doing some landscaping. I was very impressed with his knowledge and felt comfortable with him He had had to reschedule twice before this appointment, but I felt it was reasonable and I was in no hurry. He came again on Oct.11th to give me the estimate. He forgot my copy, so he had to show me on his computer. His estimate was to replace concrete with concrete not with pavers. I reminded him that he was the one who suggested pavers and that was what I decided I wanted. He didn't remember that. He said we could do that but it would be more expensive. I agreed and asked him to send me the new estimate by email and I would get back to him when I had considered his and other offers. He seemed somewhat upset I wasn't committing right then and there. He reminded me this was coming up to his busy season and he may not have time to work with me if I waited. To this point (Oct.29th), I haven't heard from him or received his offer by email. I emailed him, but received no response. I am now ready to sign a contract with another company. I also mentioned to him that he didn't have good reviews on Angie's list, but he brushed it off saying it was someone who wanted a very small project done and he wasn't interested. My project is large ($25000-$30000), so I don't know what is reasoning is now!!

I appreciated the fact that he called to reschedule, but it was short notice. The first time he cancelled, I wasn't concerned but when he had someone call me the next day and cancel again, I began to wonder if this was a pattern of behavior. I declined to reschedule a third appt. and decided to focus on other landscaper options.
Description of Work: Saw booth at Fall Home Show in September at Del Mar Fairgrounds and talked to rep who would call and schedule an appointment for a consultation. We later scheduled an appointment for the following week, but Darren called the morning of appt. and said he was tied up with something urgent and would like to reschedule for the next day. I got a call from a woman next morning saying Darren had to reschedule again because of work site problem and couldn't make it.

We met representatives of D Dee Landscape construction at the Del Mar Home Improvement Show in April. There we discussed our landscape project and requested they call to schedule an on-site estimate. Post-show, I scheduled an appointment for Darren to provide an estimate for our work. On 4/24, Darren called to reconfirm the appointment for the next day. On 4/25 Darren no-showed the appointment. He never called to explain, apologize or reschedule.
Description of Work: Nothing. Darren no-showed our scheduled appointment.
