A & J Tree Service

I am very happy with the work performed by this company. I recommend A & J Tree Service to anyone needing a professional tree job done at a fair price. The owner, Armando, came to my house and provided me with a written estimate for tree work within 4 hours after first contacting his company. That was a big plus in my mind. I was in a hurry to get the trees worked on because of an uncontrollable, massive amount of leaves falling on my lawn and public sidewalk everyday. He explained the extreme heat was causing my evergreens to rapidly loose leaves and told me how his crew would reduce the foliage and correct the branching. The price was also right and I decided on the spot to hire him. Armando and his crew of four others, including his son Rolando (J), one tree-guy-with-chainsaw, and two clean-up guys with a chipper arrived as scheduled a few days later and went straight to work for four solid hours. They did a fantastic job, my trees look beautiful. An excellent clean-up job was done.

Excellent work. Showed up promptly, tree was trimmed as I asked and they hauled away all the fruit per my request. I needed this done to discourage the insects and critters that were eating all the fruit we couldn't reach. The tree ended up having a whole trash can full of oranges that were fit to eat. Tree looks great and the price was reasonable and I was able to use the Angie's list coupon.

Working with A & J Tree Service was a positive experience from start to finish. Roland was prompt when showing up at the appointed time for the bid. He was also very professional and knew the names of the trees. What I was most impressed with was the shaping and trimming of the trees. I had complaints from the neighbor behind the house that one particular tree's branches were stretching into her yard and the leaves were dropping into her pool. Roland had his crew trim the tree so the branches were cut to the property line and the tree thinned out. The finished tree looks very natural. In fact all the trees he trimmed look very natural. I had two neighbors ask for the name of the company who trimmed the trees because they turned out so nicely -- one of the neighbors was the lady behind the house.

A&J did a great job! They provided a fair quote and arrived on the date and time as agreed upon. They left my property neat and clean and even informed me of the termites found in my tree. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future.

I spoke with Rolando who was very professional and responsive. The workers were available within just a day of my request for service and showed up early. I had never had any trimming or cleaning done professionally to my palm trees so the work done by A&J was good. I was told $40 was standard for each Queen palm and for the amount of work performed it seemed fair (I certainly wasn't going to do it). My only negative was that a considerable amount of saw dust was left on the roof of my home at the front of my house. I didn't notice it right away but saw it after they left. It was very noticeable from the street and was pretty unsightly. They did a decent job of sweeping and blowing after they trimmed the trees, so im hoping they just didnt notice the roof like I did. I would like to think that as friendly as the workers were, had I noticed it earlier and asked, they would have cleaned it up. Other than that the job was well done.

I had two 30" tall Mexican Fan Palm trees in the backyard that had grown from dropped seeds in the ground where I had had a 40' White Ash removed years before. I also had a line of 6 25' tall Italian Cypress trees in front, three of which were dead or nearly dead. I originally had intended to fell them myself and had plans for an intricate system of ropes and pulleys to bring them down where I wanted, but my wife showed me too many YouTube videos of amateur lumberjack disasters and prevailed in her argument to have professionals do it. Word of mouth from a cousin satisfied with A&J's work (plus a quick confirmation from Angie's List) led me to call. Rolando came out to give us an estimate on the five trees and we agreed on a date and price. When the day came, the team could not have been more professional. They attacked the three trees in front first, working from the top down, and I recovered numerous balls, Frisbees, and a toy gun from the fallen branches. Then they attacked the massive palms in the back. While looking at the gaps between the remaining cypresses, I realized how awful the insides of the remaining trees looked. I made the decision to ask them to cut down the other three. Rolando didn't hesitate to call the main office and get clearance to keep working and quoted me a totally reasonable additional fee. And these wonderful guys--who had been working since nearly dawn -- stuck with it for another 4 hours and finished the unforeseen job, ground up the branches and filled their truck so full that they had to go to a local landfill (and absorb the 4X higher per-ton fee) in order to be able to put the rest of the wood and chipper trash in for the trip home. They were very grateful for the pizzas and sodas we provided for them, too. They ground the stumps the same day, all in a coordinated attack plan. They hefted impossibly huge sections of sodden palm tree trunks into the truck and cleaned up the grounds immaculately after an extra-long day and all with a smile. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Roland was very professional--he showed up on time for the estimate and gave a fair price for the work we wanted done. He and a member of his company were right on time the day of the services rendered. They both did an outstanding job at a fair price. Roland thought the existing tree trunks could be removed by his machine but there was not enough room for it to maneuver so they dug the trunks out by hand. Roland gave an estimate for trimming, shaping, and thinning our remaining trees this fall and it was $40 less for each tree than the previous tree service we had used. We definitely recommend Roland and A&J Tree Service and will use them going forward!

We got 2 estimates on this job, one from a door hanger advertisement and one from A & J Tree Service which we found on Angie's List. Armando's estimate was $150.00 less than our other estimate and we liked the fact that we could read reviews from former client's re: his company. The moment the crew started the work, we were impressed! They all worked so well together and it all went so smooth! Our avocado trees had grown beyond the size they should be and we were in awe as to how the crew climbed up so high! Armando also had his crew do extra things like trimming the sucker's off of my lemon trees and they cleaned up a mess that I had left behind due to trimming our miniature fruit trees. They all did a fantastic job of cleaning up and our yard looks great! I couldn't have asked for a more professional and efficient company! Thank you, Armando, Rolando and crew for your wonderful work! Oh, my neighbor also hired them to prune his trees (he is very hard to please) and he was very impressed and happy with the work A & J Tree Service provided. I will be keeping their phone number handy to service our trees in the future.

It went very well. They were professional and friendly. They did the work they said they were going to do when they said they would do it. The price was fair. Overall, I am happy with every aspect of the job.

Randall provided a same-day, onsite estimate when I called on June 28, 2013, after a 20 foot branch split off my liquid amber tree the night before. We scheduled the tree service for the afternoon of July 2, 2013. A&J Tree Service arrived in the afternoon of July 2 as scheduled and promptly performed the crown reduction and shaping of the liquid amber tree, as well as trimming the Mexican fan palm. Despite the breezy conditions, A&J did a very good job cleaning up the debris. Randall also was able to confirm to me that no signs of tree disease or destructive insects were found. The liquid amber branch most likely came down as a result of its weight and its full foliage in the windy conditions over the past few weeks. Overall, Randall, his father, and his entire crew were professional and friendly in my interactions with them.

My experience with them was very good. They did a great job. They showed up on time and did the job very fast. They were very courteous. I couldn’t have asked for more. They were very favorably priced too; much better than the people I compared. If I just had the trees cut, it was only $500, so I opted to have the stumps cut. They were very friendly. The son came out the first time. They were very forthright and they let us know every detail. They did what they said they were going to do. I was very satisfied. I would absolutely use them again in the future. I would recommend them to anybody who wants to know it.

This was definitely one of the best experiences we have ever had. When I called for an estimate they were very friendly and came at the appointed time. Roland got what we wanted done right away, and even made some suggestions that would improve upon what we wanted. We set up an appointment to do the work, and they arrived exactly on time, reviewed exactly what was to be done, and then got to work immediately. When completed, all work was done beyond expectations, and our yard was left in perfect condition. What a pleasure to work with such friendly, competent, and professional people. We will use them again and heartily recommend them to anyone who is looking for great work at a fair price.

I contacted A & J Tree Service on a Tuesday evening and was able to get hold of Roland right away. He came out to do an estimate the next evening and quoted me a very reasonable price for the work we were asking to be done. We were able to set up a time just two days later on a Friday for he and his team to come out and perform the work. On Friday, the team showed up promptly at noon as expected, and had finished all their tree removal work and cleanup in about 3 hours. I was very impressed by the promptness at which they arrived and the efficiency with which they worked. When they were finished, Roland rang the doorbell and made sure I had a chance to inspect the work and make sure it was to my satisfaction before payment was made. My whole experience with A & J Tree Service was extremely pleasant as Roland demonstrated a strong knowledge of all the trees/plants he was working with and was also very articulate in describing what he and his team would do. It also put my mind at ease that they hold the appropriate licenses and insurance for their line of work as there is great potential liability involved with the removal of large trees and the wielding of heavy equipment. If we ever have tree removal or arborist needs in the future, I will not hesitate to call A & J Tree Service again. Thanks guys!

The provider came on a Saturday in the rain to give us an estimate. His workers came on time on the date promised. They did an awesome job, cleaned up after themselves and were very knowledgeable. Would definitely use again.

I called A & J Tree Service on a Saturday afternoon and left a voice mail. Ten minutes later, Roland returned my call and we reviewed the required work and set up an appointment for the next day (Sunday to accommodate our schedule) and he arrived right on time. Roland provided the price for all the work we wanted done and scheduled the job for the following Friday. The work was performed on time and exactly as discussed and all the debris was removed. Roland followed up with us a few days later and verified everything done was acceptable. We will use them in the future for trimming of trees in the fall.

I was told they would be here at 8:00 am on Tuesday morning and a crew of 5 arrived exactly at that time. I asked if there would be a hold left from the tree since I had a large plumeria that I wanted to plant in it. Armando said he would do it. I had to leave for an appointment and when I came home everything was so clean. They removed every leaf, twig and all the grindings. My neighbors yard was spotless also. I paid them the price that was quoted even though I had a coupon, they all deserved it.

We were pleased with the service. The guy was pretty knowledgeable. We initially called him for a tree trimming, but it turned out the tree had a lot of termite infestation all throughout, which I would have suspected. He took the tree out and then I asked him if he would probably plant a tree in return to that & he did that. It went pretty well. I paid him to dig the holes. He went and bought the plants. He got the discount because he has a landscaper’s license. He passed it on to me. He was comparable with everybody else.

Came on time for a quote on Wednesday and performed the work on Friday to fit my timetable. End result exactly as agreed upon. Immaculate clean up like they were never here. Fantastic experience and will use them again next year for a trim.

Roland and his crew arrived within ten minutes of the designated time. He introduced his crew and they went right to work. It was obvious that this is a highly skilled team who know what they are doing. The job was as efficiently executed as I have ever seen. When I went out to look at the stumps, I commented that I expected the stump on the steeper slope to be closer to the ground. Roland explained the difficulty of doing that on a steep slope, so I made no further comment. The next time I looked out the window, I saw Roland taking the stump further down with a small hand saw. Overall, it was a beautiful job, and I am very pleased with the result.

They were very responsive to my inquiry and were able to schedule work on short notice. They showed up on time and were very professional and did a GREAT job. They cleaned up after themselves. Very happy with the work they did.

Fabulous company, so happy with their work ! I spoke to Rolando and set up a date for an estimate to have our pine tree thinned out and lifted up, and also to have an avocado tree and grapefruit tree that belongs to the neighbor behind us trimmed back to the property line, as they were growing over the block wall. Armando came out at the designated date and time, and we spoke of what we wanted done, also I asked if they could blow the pine needles off of the roof and clean out the gutters, and Armando said of course, no problem. Armando was very professional and friendly, and I must mention that the area where our neighbors trees needed to be trimmed back is kind of hard to access, there is a boat and several box trailers in the way and I had mentioned that I would try to move them out and he said we didn't need to go to all that trouble, that his men could work around them. That was a big relief for us, as I didn't know where I would move them, and we were most appreciative. We set the date for 2-12-13, between 7a-8a, and Rolando and Armando along with their crew arrived at 730a. I am extremely glad I went with this company, they did an outstanding job on the pine tree, blew off the pine needles on the roof and the gutters, and the neighbors trees in the back yard were cut back beautifully to the property line. They clearly are experts in their field, and I would definitely hire them again . They did a wonderful job cleaning up, I know have a tree service company that does excellent , professional work.
