I needed to get my water heater replaced ASAP when I found out the day before I had to leave the country that my water heater was busted. I find this out, uuuh, like at 3pm and needed to have it replaced and no one was available. I called Valley Plumbing and the dispatcher said there wasn't anybody available to do an emergency visit. I don't know how in the world they found someone but a very courteous man, Mark, came out in the late afternoon (4-5'ish) after doing his last scheduled appointment and worked overtime so that I could have a new water heater in my house so that the rest of my family could enjoy hot water while I was away. He replaced the wooden board platform as well as the water heater. He was QUICK and most of all efficient -didn't waste any time getting the job done! This employee (as well as the other one that came when I went with Valley Plumbing back in 2009) was so friendly and knowledgeable and you could tell he really liked what he did PLUS he really liked the employer he worked for. If there's any plumbing company where you will see employees thrive it will be Valley Plumbing because the management, from what this employee, Mark, told me, really looks out for the people that work for them. He said even the owner/boss (whoever that is) has showed up to appointments during their day off or vacation to help out on projects to help out an employee if they're stuck on something. Where I live, you need a permit for a water heater- they supply that (this is included in the cost) and also accompany it with a letter instructing you who to call in your city to get it inspected. No probs with this company - everything was straightforward. They're motto is "Integrity before profit" and they totally mean it. I can't say enough about this company. I would rather pay a little extra to have a job done right and excellent than have to go through the trouble of calling someone back to fix their mistakes. If you want something done the right way with good people - go to these guys!

The young man that came out was prompt, on time and pleasant. He knew what he was doing and did the job well. If you want reliable service give them a call. I will use them again in the future but I would definitely get a quote first; they are a little pricey.

I don't remember the cost but I don't remember it to be sticking out. I thought that they were excellent. They came when they were supposed to and I remember the price not being too outrageous. They fixed my problem. I would definitely use them again.

Excellent. The office cheerfully adjusted the work time to meet needs of my wife getting to Dr's appointments. Namen was punctual, pleasant and professional.

They guy that came was excellent and so was his company. The problem with them was that they did not come to Oakland but I used them in Castro Valley. They were good, timely and I will use them again in the future.

Mark came out - within the proper timeframe - assessed the job quickly and got it done efficiently. He was happy to answer any questions I had, and to look at and solve other smaller issues. I also liked that he wore protective booties and was careful about my home. One thing I've always struggled with as a homeowner is finding service providers who seem honest and fair, and also don't stand there talking your ear off while you watch the minutes tick away, and so this was an extremely pleasant experience. I feel like I've found a plumbing company for life. I already plan to have him back to do some non-emergency upgrades. The office staff was also friendly and helpful. P.S. I gave a B on the price because I have no idea what a great price is, but I did not feel ripped off. The rate seemed fair for the work provided.

Easy job and was completed quickly and professionally. Overall good experience.

Called them on Friday afternoon and had an appointment set up for first thing Monday morning. Took them just under an hour to do it. Everything was done correctly and well. They plumber was professional, quick, and courteous. I like how they price. Pay by the hour, 1hr minimum, and then 15 minute increments afterwards. So however many items they can get done in that time frame is up to you. I actually asked the guy about some other things and he said the best thing to do is stack up multiple things instead of paying for the 1hr for a 15 min job. Which I thought was pretty cool.

Headline: Kirk is a hands-down, bona fide, superstar plumber. If a company is built on the quality and hard work of its people, then Kirk should be cloned. High quality work, efficient, effective and totally focused on customer service. Valley Plumbing is really fortunate to have a gem of an employee like Kirk. No kidding that if he wasn't fixing my plumbing issue, he literally was out the door running (RUNNING!) to get the additional parts from his work van. Frankly, in all the service businesses I've ever used over many years, I've never seen such hard work, focus, and dedication. Net, demand Kirk if you use Valley Plumbing.

Called early on a Monday morning and was able to get a service window that I wanted that same day.. The service rep showed up on time and explained in detail my options, pricing and how lon it would take. Decided to replace the water heater. He did a great job within the time period he said he would. Pricing was fair and reasonable for the job. Since this is rental property, he took the time to check out all the faucets in the house. I scheduled a future job for the work he recommended, Very professional and honest .

Cost was more than twice the original estimate. Can't complain about the quality of work, but I was charged for 3 hours at over $150 per hour for a job that was estimated to take about 1 hour. I wasn't home at the time since all the work could have been from the outside. I find out that it is so much over when I get a call from the plumber who had to drive to the hardware store to get a shower head to replace the one he broke. Naturally I got charged for both the part and the time to go to the store, get the shower head and install it. Also driving up the cost was the fact that the parts were all marked up about 50% over Home Depot prices. I can say that he arrived on time and the final job looks OK. But if he had properly flushed the water lines after he installed the regulator, we would not have had the blocked shower heads and faucets that then had to be cleaned out, causing the subsequent broken shower head.

The tech came at 4 pm on a Friday.and spent about an hour working on all the jobs & said he would come on Monday with the necessary parts. He came back and spent about half an hour installing and finishing off the jobs. And everything seems to be fixed. I have never met a plumber who worked so quickly & efficiently. nor had a call out charge or minimum charge. It was a pleasure having them in my home.

Kirk was right on time - very neat - didn't waste hourly time with lots of small talk. After he was off the clock very friendly - very helpful in showing me all shut off valves. Outstanding experience.

It was determined that the softener was not working properly and sending debris to the water heater. It was recommended that I either have a water softener specialist look at it or have the softener replaced.

When we saw the toilet in diner stall we called the plumber on Saturday morning. He came within 2 hours and had repaired in 2 hours.

I spent about $140 for their service. Overall, they were excellent. I would use their services in the future too.

Great. Very professional and punctual for the estimate. I had bad experiences with previous plumbers and picked Valley Home based on the Angie's List ratings. They arrived on time to start the job. Completed it on time. I had them connect the wrong pipes together (my fault not theirs). They had to do some very creative work on the spot to restore water to the house. They did what it took to get water restored before the holiday weekend. They came back today and finished the job. I am a big fan. I'll use these guys whenever I can.

I called Valley Plumbing and set up an appointment for a drain cleaning. They called the day of my apporintment and told me exactly when the technician would be at the house. Mark came and did a very clean and good job in clearing the clog and fixing the rusted parts. I will definitely use them again if the need arises.

Making the service appointment went without a hitch. The person who set up the initial call was very pleasant and asked a number of questions in order to make our intial service appointment as productive as possible. On the service date, the technician arrived on time (5 minutes early actually), was very professional, and above all, competent. He quickly assessed the situation gave me a fee quote, and got to work. He was done within the time period estimated. My only gripe was the pricing for parts. A quick search of the internet for the parts used on our job suggested a significant markup. If my numbers are accurate, we're talking markups in excess of 100 percent for some parts. I don't mind and can appreciate a markup, but the markup here seemed excessive. In the end, I gave high marks for great service. I've gone with "cheap" before, and got poor service. I would have given "A's" across the board of the pricing for parts was a little lower (i.e., more in line with the costs I found on the internet for the same parts).

On time, right price, nice installation.

I live in a condominium with a common water line. The water pipe into my home was severed because of a poor solder job performed by the HOA to repair a previous leak. This pipe is also a hose connection used by the HOA landscapers. I observed water gushing out of the severed line at a rate of about 10 gpm. I closed the valve to stop the leak, which also stopped my water service. I contacted the HOA emergency service. They did not respond. After 2 hours, I called Valley Plumbing. A live person answered the phone immediately. The plumber arrived within 2 hours and the repair was completed in approximately 20 minutes. The plumber was very professional and wasted no time at all. Note that I paid a premium price because of a weekend emergency repair. The cost was for 1 hour of overtime labor and included travel to my home. I would definitely use Valley Plumbing again and recommend them highly.

He was great. He came on time and answered all my questions. He was not chatty so he did not waste the time. He was polite, efficient and professional.

I was very pleased. They were able to give me an ETA when I called that morning and I did not miss much work. He was friendly, fast, and even helped me move a bookshelf. I would not go anywhere else for plumbing services.

I had good luck with them. They were really knowledgeable people. They were professional and they god the job done well.

The plumber showed up promptly and worked diligently the entire time. His manner was polite and business-like, and he did not cause a disruption in the home while working. He showed me the corroded pipes he had removed and the new ones he had placed.
