We had a great experience with Custom Exteriors! My wife met Grayeagle, their sales rep, through other friends. We were in the market for windows and asked him to give us a quote, with the understanding that we were also getting quotes from other vendors. We did our homework and learned as much as we could about the available windows. Ultimately, Custom Exteriors gave us a very competitive quote on Anlin windows and we decided to go with them. It took about three weeks for the windows to be produced and then their crew, led by Manny came in and installed 16 windows. One of the windows was a bit complicated over our kitchen sink and another involved actually expanding the size of the opening because we wanted a larger window installed over our bathtub. There was a combination of retrofit and new construction windows that we ordered. Everything was installed beautifully and the whole job was done in 2 days. The crew was profession and cleaned up very well. We have noticed a tremendous improvement in the comfort of our home which was cold and drafty with our previous windows. We would highly recommend Custom Exteriors!

The company promptly responded to the call, came with an appraisal, discussed thoroughly all options. They helped with providing necessary details to the HOA, were flexible with the installation dates. There was quite a long wait for the windows to be made and arrive but this is not of the company's fault. The work itself was executed on time, with minimal disturbance, the guys cleaned up after themselves nicely. 6 months later, nothing broke down at least now, the windows are fine. Will definitely work with this company again should there the need arise.

From our first meeting with Jack Cooper to our final walk through we had a great experience with Custom Exteriors. Installers were prompt and extremely capable. Great problem solvers, who stayed on task and did great cleanup. Easy communication was a hallmark of this transaction. We are very pleased with the work and the overall experience.

I compared prices and went for another seller, who also was listed on Angie's list and had a better deal. This other company was more approachable and responded quickly to my emails and calls. I contacted the Custom Exterior's salesman via email to send me another estimate with the less expensive windows but he never replied nor called me.

Workers were punctual and did a very clean job. Had a small problem down the road and they came out right away and fixed it and I live over an hour from where the company is located. Would highly recommend.

They were awesome!. It was like watching a symphony. I had 14 windows and 2 patio doors replaced on my 2 story house. They showed up right on time at 9am with 5 workers and systematically took all of the old windows and doors out. Then the real craftsmanship began. They custom cut and fit every door and window to the exact size of the opening, install it, leveled it, and did all the necessary trim and caulking. The truly amazing part is that they were completely done that same day! Is was amazing to watch. The new windows and doors are great. Even with the "biggest storm in over 5 years" beating down, with the new windows closed I can't even hear the rain pounding down outside. I highly recommend this company

I love Custom Exteriors. They are very professional, and quick. My mother had used them in 2008, and I had them replace all my windows in a condo I owned. Now that I own a house, I wanted only them to help with getting the windows up in quality. I like the look of the windows, and I like the responsive, quality service. Highly recommended.

Initially, after I received three estimates from diff. companies including Cust. Exteriors, I decided to go with another window contracting company that agreed, per my contract to obtain and install Anlin windows for a lower price. I paid an initial deposit to company #1, signed a contract, then waited and waited and waited: 3 weeks with no communication about installation date, even though I called every 7 days and left messages for call backs. I ultimately cancelled the contract because the Anlin windows they said I could have with them were not available, and they wanted be to switch to a lower grade window. I called Custom Exteriors and asked if they would honor my original estimate. Without hesitation, they did AND gave me an additional 10% discount for returning to them. I'd like to add that Paul Kaplan, the sales rep, was excellent. He didn't try to 'hard sell' me on any windows that fit my budget. He brought great samples with him, explained the differences - both technical and visual/aesthetic - and was very professional as a contact and communicator. The timeline was perfect: they said it would take 10-14 days to order and create the custom windows (house is built in 1923 with a few non-standard sizes). Around day 11, I received a call to set up an installation day. I was informed that it would take two full days because of the hideous security bars that needed to be removed as well as the installation of the new windows. They removed all bars, filled in all holes, removed all old windows, installed all new windows in just 1 & 1/2 days. The crew was super nice, courteous, and clean: they laid tarps near all work spaces, wiped, vacuumed, and cleaned all areas completely after each installation. I am very happy with my new windows and the quality work that they performed. I highly recommend them. Custom Exteriors also has a line of doors available. When the time comes, I may use them for this home upgrade too.

It went very good. They did it very quickly. They were very professional and experienced. The quality is as good now as it was in 2003.

Custom Exteriors did an excellent job replacing our front picture window and rear patio door assemblies. They were in and out in a day and the new installations look great. I would recommend them for any window frame replacing you need done.

They did a great job. The best part was that the salesman suggested I combine some windows to create a more open look along the back of my house which also resulted in needing fewer windows. They also recommended the woman who stained the wood to match my cabinets. Changed the whole look of my house. The supervisor who did the actual work was great. They were very contentious. Had some minor issues but customer service fixed right away. Definitely recommend.

The estimating process went fine. They were very timely in coming out and provided samples of the texture. Unfortunately, their price was significantly more, even after they gave us a 25% discount. When we declined them THEN they made an effort to be competitive, but at that point it was clear that they were not the contractor for us.

They were fine. The first guy that came in to do the estimate was cool until we said we weren't quite sure with who we were going to go with. He went from really nice to kind of like a jerk. I reported that to the company. The owner got in touch with me and he came out and looked at the windows and gave me a slight discount. They went out of the way to make things better. The job went fine. They did it in a couple hours and it looks great. We are happy with it.

The job went really well. They did a good job. We were happy with the sales guy Grayeagle Porter. We were also happy with the installation guy Jorge, who was the foreman. The only downside was that the job took longer than expected due to delivery of windows being delayed.

They've been very good. We used them for the high end Marvin custom products. They are very good; they have installers who just work on these products. We had a remodeling on our house and we have a regular contractor who ordered this Marvin Integrity product. The product was problematic and the contractor doesn't know how to install it. I wished that for those pieces that we have gone to Custom Exteriors because they are much more knowledgeable. I only noticed this due to comparison; they have a person named Grey Eagle, who really knows everything inside out. We even called him to consult when another contractor didn't know the product. He is phenomenal. Their installation team is always very good. Every time they have a project, they have a lower limit...I believe couple of $1000 so every time there is an excess of $7000 probably on the doors we are doing now we're talking sort of 7-10k. They do wood trim as well. They do a lovely job. The knowledge of their product is very good.

Everything went great, I was impressed that they were able to finish so quickly. I did my research and then I went to their showroom, I was greeted by a very pleasant lady (Mari Jo). She showed me around and then we set an appointment. I was happy to see an email confirmation prior to the appointment with the salespersons name. When the salesman arrived (David) he listened to my needs and then answered all my questions, he was very knowledgeable. He gave a bid and I was pleasantly surprised with the value. He told me 4-5 weeks lead time and he was right, in 4 weeks I got a call to set up the installation. The installers were very courteous as they covered my new flooring. This was a big job with new construction installation so it took 3 days as David had advised me. When all the work was done I have to say it was Beautiful !!!!. Thank you to the team of Custom Exteriors. I would recommend this company to others

Good quality work, but communication challenges were frustrating. Details discussed up front were not passed on to the work crew, office staff didn't return calls, scheduling ahead based on my work schedule was not a priority. My windows are doors look great though so it did all work out in the end.

They were good quality windows and they lasted.

I had a very pleasant experience with Custom Exteriors. It was a good experience from the beginning. Jeff, with Custom Exteriors, showed up 5 minutes early (bonus points for promptness). Jeff performed the measuring and explained all the different window options. Since I went from 1954 windows, I was very concerned about a new window look on the house. Jeff had great advice on the window type and look (double hung, casement, single sliding, double sliding, etc). We also had a new front door installed. Jeff was once again provided great advice in the choice of the door. He really guided us in the right direction picking a door with the right size of window to balance additional light and privacy. The best part was there was no hard sell. Kevin and Tim performed the installation over 2 days, which consisted of removing the old steel framed windows and installing the new ones. I don't that was an easy task. There was no damage to the exterior or window areas during demo. They were very clean and were diligent to make sure that no glass was on the floor at the end of each day. They also installed our door. The door is hung perfectly and has that nice sound of a tight seal when it shuts. They installed Anlin windows, which was not a brand I was familiar with at the time. They look great, very smooth sliding and no drafts.

As a 30 year investment property owner and investor I have dealt with dozens of contractors over the years. I recently contracted with Custom Exteriors to replace windows and doors on three properties that I own around the Bay Area, and my experience with them was excellent. The crew was neat, clean and very professional. Each of the 3 jobs were installed in just one day. Jeff personally took care of the permits required so that I didn't have to worry about that hassle. Jeff, a co-owner, was very involved in all aspects of each job. I also liked the fact that he plays golf, is a father, home owner like me and is willing to get involved in all aspects of the job. The work turned out great and the Anlin products that were installed made all three residences noticably more comfortable and quiet. One tenant even told me last week their PG&E bill was cut in 1/2. We will be using these guys again and I have told friends and family about them too. Glen

After discovering some dry rot, Custom Exteriors came out and removed windows, did extensive dry rot repair, replaced window flashing, installed two new windows, and installed new stucco over an entire wall. Work and crew was very professional, pricing very fair, and I was pleasantly surprised with the multiple visits and monitoring of the work in progress by the President of the company. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone needing similar services.

(Cost of service noted above is per each job) I own 2 separate residences. One in Walnut Creek, CA and the other in Copperopolis, CA. - In Walnut Creek we had 20 windows replaced . I found the salesperson very professional. The crew was on time, clean, professional and quick. No issues whatsoever. Several months later I contracted again with them for the Copperopolis residence. There were 10 windows and 2 sliding glass doors replaced. Same salesperson and crew. Again, no issues. Quick, professional etc. I would not hesitate to recommend or use them again. I also would highly recommend to anyone to get the new generation of windows. What an amazing difference in comfort, energy savings etc. (We bought the Anlin replacement windows and doors)

I originally placed 11/9/13 where I signed the paperwork I asked if the windows could be installed the two week in December since I will take time off. I am fine either way. I was told, yeah that should not be a problem. I was told after signed all the paperwork to call in mid-December and talk with Juan to verify the dates. He was the person who managed this and could tell me what to expect. A few weeks later the owner came and took measurements of the windows. I think this was to ensure their measurements were correct and to ensure a smooth process. I told him that I wanted the windows installed the last two weeks in December since I am taking time off. Jeff said, yeah that shouldn?t be a problem and should happen. Call Juan in mid-December to verify. About a week later, I got a call from the sales rep and from Jeff asking to talk with me. It turns out they made a mistake and the window they thought could be a retrofit, had to be new construction. Was I ok with it? After chatting about it, I said as long as we can still meet the installation dates I am fine since I am taking time off. Jeff said that shouldn?t be a problem and he remembered I took the time off. Dec:20th: I called on December 20th and asked to speak with Juan. I asked, are we on track to install the windows the last week in December 30-January 3rd. He said yes, everything is looking good. He said we should talk again on December 30th to confirm in case anything changes. I said great. Dec 30th: I chatted with Juan on December 30th at 9:37am. Juan confirmed that Customer Exteriors will get the shipment on Jan 2nd in the morning. They will show up at 9am on Thursday Jan 2 and the work should be done by January 3rd. We discuss making sure to finish the windows downstairs so I can have my alarm guy hook up everything on 1/3. HE says that shouldn?t be a problem. HE confirms they will arrive at 9:30am on Jan 2. January 2nd: ? The installation day, 8:12am Jan 2 ? Juan calls leaves a message that the order didn?t arrive on the truck today. That they will drive out an get it from the manufacturer. I call him back and confirm that Customer Exteriors will drive out and get the order. He says they will arrive on 1/3 at 7am the job will take two days and they will work on Saturday to finish(Jan 4th) ? 1:50pm Jan 2- Get a call from Customer Exteriors saying they windows are not even done yet. That the manufacturer is still building them and he isn?t sure why they told me otherwise. Says that the soonest they can do it is on 1/11. He says he knows that I needed it this week, but they can finish all the work on 1/11 even though normally this is a two day job. I inquire about my door order and he says he doesn?t know anything about it, but that he will check into it and get back to me today. Also, he says that he will have Jeff call me when I ask about a discount. ? By 8:27pm that night, I don?t receive any calls from Custom Exteriors, so I send an email to Jeff and Juan asking about the situation. January 3rd: ? Juan responds to my email and says he understands my frustrations and says that it was Anlin?s fault on the order being late. I ordered Anlin Windows. ? I emailed back Juan and asked for the Anlin rep?s name so I can inquire. He gives it to me. ? Around 2pm I chatted with the Anlin rep- Kathy and explain the situation. Kathy was awesome. She of course said, well I can?t talk about anything confidential and I said I understand. She confirms that it wasn?t Anlin?s fault and that in fact the shipment date of January 6 to Customer Exteriors hasn?t changed for over 3 weeks. And after my guessing when they submitted the work, it turned out they submitted the order to Anlin late. I told her how Customer Exteriors blamed them and she was very surprised. I let her know that Customer Exteriors never got back to me the prior day(The owner didn?t call). She said she would reach out to the owner and get back to me that day. ? Around 2:30pm, Kathy from Anlin called back. Said, she was sorry that she couldn?t get a hold of the owner either, but that Anlin cares very much about the customer and that they will make sure this is fixed and that I am happy. ? Around 4pm, the President of Anlin called me. I have to admit he spent the first 5 minutes defending Customer Exteriors(He should let Kathy talk more to the public, she is better). After he finished, I explained my point of view and then I think he got it. He said he will personally make sure this is done and done right. He will follow this order. Jan 6th- The Owner from Customer exteriors, resurfaces and says he is sorry and wanted to confirm that the order for the windows will be installed on Jan 11th. I said yes Jan 11th ? The day of the installation went well. They actually did show up, and did finish the job. Anlin even called to make sure they showed up. My final recommendations, buy Anlin Windows! As for who you have install it, I can?t make any other recommendations

Everything turned out excellent. They showed up on time, cleaned up well, and had no problems with the windows after installation.
