Inspection and estimates were made promptly; samples of various manufacturers were brought to my house. All measurements were double checked by a different person in a separate visit. The only variation in the final cost from the estimated cost was due to a building code change; the cost differences were spelled out ahead of time to me. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The workers were very skilled and very pleasant. The house was clean or cleaner when the work was finished than when the work began. Removal and disposal of the old units was included. I elected to have the permit process handled by the company; they charged $125.

In both instances, the quality of service was excellent from the initial estimate to the actual installation. They were professional, prompt and installed a quality product quickly and cleanly. With the first set of windows, we needed a warranty replacement of one of the windows, which they took care of immediately. Since then, we have had no need for warranty work on their service and continue to be pleased with the end result. They weren't the cheapest option but they were the best; we felt the higher cost was offset by the higher quality and the no hassle aspect of the process. When it was time to hire a contractor for phase two of our window replacement project, we didn't hesitate to call Custom Exteriors and had enough confidence in their work and pricing that we didn't feel the need to look at other contractors or bids.

Good service overall. Sales rep discussed options, demonstrated construction of windows (UV protection, layers, frames, etc). Presented estimate, offered discount on custom made patio door (standard option was not available). Discussed the need to preserve security wireing and pre-drill frames for the wires. Company obtained permit from the city to begin construction. Crew showed up on time, adequate communication with foreman. We reviewed what needed to be done with the foreman. Most of the work was done in one day, but part of crew came back next day to finish up. Half way through it turned out they forgot to take care of security wires and two of the windows had to be taken out and re-done. Nevertheless, some of the wires were not preserved and I had to pay security company to re-wire. Custom Exteriors reimbursed us immediately for this. One of the bathroom windows was defective and required Milguard people to come and fix it.Custom Exteriors scheduled their visits. ( We are still dealing with this problem). The installers neglected to comply with our city threshold requirements for the patio door and had to come back to fix it so we can pass the inspection. (We did). One of company owners, Kevin, was very responsive and helpful in solving the above problems. Office staff was very professional and helpful.

We replaced it more than 4 years ago and the crew that did it were spectacular. They took a day and a half to do the entire day. Their price was very good and the quality of the windows so far has been excellent. Their customer service was great and they were responsive. We just couldn't be happier with the windows they installed. We asked for references and they gave us a book. They did an outstanding job.

Sales rep. Grey Eagle showed up promptly and identified himself. He explained the company credentials and gave examples of their work. We talked a bit about what I wanted then he measured the windows to be able to give an accurate estimate. He then listened to me talk about what I thought I needed and offered suggestions and alternatives. I knew little about windows and appreciated his extensive knowledge. He submitted a quote quickly and answered follow-up questions promptly and fully. He changed the quote twice for me as I refined my plan to include the more expensive wood interior with aluminum clad exterior. He warned me when I asked for a design that would not match the result I wanted. This company was one of two I narrowed my choice to and the two contractors were essentially equivalent. My final decision to go with the other was difficult and if the other were not available I would have been comfortable going with Custom Exteriors.

I was thoroughly satisfied with the work and customer service that I received from Custom Exteriors. The salesman was very friendly and discussed different alternatives for my home. I really appreciated that he didn't try to sell me the most expensive windows on the market. Instead, he listened to my needs and concerns and made recommendations. In the end I went for the less expensive windows which I'm completely satisfied with. I also had a French door that needed to be replaced and I knew I would probably have to do that at a later date due to cost. The salesman was able to look up the price of the doors so that I could budget for them later, and did not pressure me to do all the work at once (like many other contractors do). It took about three weeks for the windows to come in as they were custom sized, and the installers came out on a Saturday to do the work, which was very convenient for me. Everyone at that organization is so easy to work with an incredibly friendly. I felt like they approached their work with a hospitality that is hard to come by. My only complaint is that the installers were running around two hours late, and didn t call me to let me know of the time change. I had to call the office to find out what was going on. Despite that brief setback, the workers arrived and did the work much faster then I had anticipated without appearing to sacrifice any quality or workmanship. It only took them two to three hours to remove the old windows and to install the new ones. They cleaned as they went, and disposed of every bit of debris. Frankly, they left my home a little cleaner then it was when they arrived. The two gentlemen who did the installation knew that I had planned to leave town that day so they offered to lockup after they were done. That wasn't necessary, but it was very nice of them to offer. They were also quite apologetic for running late. They were completely professional and respectful of my home, my space and of me. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend this company to any of my friends. If you need good windows, professional installation, great customer service, and friendly workers, this is the company for you.

They were very nice and prompt. We didn't end up going with them because we would have had to pay extra as we were in a different zip code. If we were closer, we probably would have gone with them.

Excellent! We were very pleased with all the services provided by Custom Exteriors. Their representatives were very friendly and courteous. The owner himself came down to gather (pre-installation) specifications - which gave us the feeling that they take every customer and job very seriously. We also felt that we were in **good hands**, something that lacked in most of our previous engagements with companies (or individuals) that did upgrade jobs for our home. Once we decided to go ahead with the decision to replace the windows of our home, we contacted several local companies. Custom Exteriors helped and guided (in making our decision on the window) like no one else. While we had done our research and had our guidelines on price and quality standards, we were glad to have access to the knowledge of the Custom Exterior representative. He provided us with un-biased information and provided us with the best options that would fit our budget and needs. He did a great job selling to us without being too pushy or annoying! We selected Custom Exteriors out of 5 local companies we met/spoke with. Some of them offered prices which were slightly more competitive than Custom Ext. But as I mentioned, price was only *one* of the factors. Once we decided on moving ahead with the installation, everything was smooth. They arranged for the permits, made sure that they collected all the specs accurately and then scheduled the installation. The team that came to our home for installation did a great job. They were clearly experts in installation. They were quick and precise. The quality of their work was flawless! Overall, we are extremely pleased that we chose Custom Exteriors. We would **highly recommend** them to anyone. Finally, no job is 100% perfect..so was the case with this one. I did not like the latches on the windows - they are a bit hard to open/close. I wish we had decided on the type of latches when we finalized on the window style & type. But then, this could be a personal preference too. So, in conclusion, my overall satisfaction with the job was 9.99/10. Great job Custom Exteriors!!

We had called Custom Exteriors and made an appointment with Rob Rowe. When Rob ran late with another client he called us to let us know of the situation. He also called us twice more to update us on his expected arrival time which we appreciated. Rob told us of the company's background, discussed the product options, and gave us an estimate for 8 CertainTeed High Performance windows and one Anlin sliding patio door with a built-in pet door for our cats. Two of the windows required tempered glass because of their proximity to doors. The estimate was very reasonable considering the quality of the windows and were competitive with estimates from two other window companies highly rated with Angie's. Company president, Jeff Kendall, arrived promptly on time one week later to take final measurements which took about 30 minutes. Ordering the windows and door from the factory had to be delayed until written approval to install the windows was received from the townhouse complex homeowners association. The homeowner's association praised our choice of a window company that required written approval from the homeowner's association before installing windows in a townhouse complex. When ordered, the windows and door arrived in less than 10 days. Installation was scheduled for the day after their arrival. Time between the estimate and installation was just over 3 weeks, very timely considering it included waiting for written approval from the homeowner's association. Jim and his two person crew arrived at the agreed upon time of 10:30 the morning of the installation. They completed the job in one day, working until 7:00 that evening. The crew was well-trained and efficient, and no major problems were encountered during installation. The windows and door were installed, sealed and cleaned. The old windows and door were hauled away. The work areas were cleaned. We are very happy with the new windows and our experience with Custom Exteriors. Their customer service is to be especially commended. We highly recommend this company.

Gray, the salesman, came to our home, measured the existing doors, and gave us quotes on four different options. After making our decision, we visited the showroom in Pleasanton to choose hardware and exterior color. They estimated delivery time at 4-6 weeks; actual time was a bit over 4 weeks. On the appointed day for installation, two men arrived with the new doors; they removed the old doors and completed as much of the installation as required for an in-progress inspection in about 5 hours. They were expert at their task and cleaned up well after themselves (minor quibble: except for a pile of wood shavings on the front lawn). When the door hardware turned out to be defective (I will blame Marvin, not them), they took care of scheduling a visit by the Marvin representative and explained clearly to me what the problem was, and what I needed to do (or not do) until the problem was fixed. The Marvin rep came the next business day, replaced the defective hardware, and tuned everything up perfectly. The building inspector pointed out some places where additional sealant was needed, and advised me to pass that information on to the installers. A week later, a different installer came to finish the job, but had not communicated clearly with the first team, so he arrived without all of the materials he needed to continue. Because of my travel plans, we scheduled a return visit for the following week, at which time he performed the additional sealing and installed the surrounding trim. Painting the outside trim and staining the inside of the doors and the inside trim will be my responsibility. They did highly recommend a particular "staining lady" to do that work.

We were really pleased. I didn't like the trim on one of the doors and they had no problems coming back to change it because they are very responsive. They work to please their customers. They have a very good crew and they left everything really clean. The bay window was their idea and I really liked it. We got another estimate for over $50,000 and this company's quality of material was better. They came when they said they would and they set up the repairs as soon as we called.

The windows looked beautiful, they did have to come back to get everything right. They were pretty professional, I would recommend them to others.

The owner came out and made sure the measurements were correct. They don't contract out. Their crew was very professional and clean. When they left, it was as clean as before they came.

There isn't much to say except that it went very well. The initial sales meeting was very informative, with the rep bringing samples of the windows, giving a detailed history of the company, supplying bits of advertising and testimonials, etc. We were able to agree on a price and date for the service quickly. I was particularly impressed by the fact that they measured the windows twice, not once, for accuracy. The installers arrived, did their work, and were cleaned up as promised, in less time than originally stated. I will most definitely use their services next year when I replace the rest of the windows.

They did this over two years ago and we are still very happy with the job. They had a very nice sales lady, and the installers were very nice and competent.

Initial impressions based on estimation visit; estimation visit was easy to schedule and the salesperson showed up on time. Made measurements and had to call Kevin to match a competitors bid. Estimate given was $2100. I decided to visit their showroom; sales person showed me windows and gave me a final estimate of $2500! Nevertheless I decided to go with them because of favorable reviews on Angie's List and the *owner* seemed like a person I could trust. Window measurement: person came out as agreed made measurements and left. Window replacement: a crew of 3 came in and did all the work on the windows in one day. There was apparently some miscommunication between the sales and workers, but the foreman took care of all issues. Window stucco: I am willing to bet $100 that the stucco work was subcontracted (the sales person's claim was all the folks are on the company payroll). The person did a decent job (but I have to admit I am no expert when it comes to stucco!). There was some pressure to sign off on worksheet after window install, but I deferred signing sheet until job was 100% done. Company sends a rep out to use Windex on windows and I give my final payment. Recommend a payment schedule with zero receivables in mail yesterday.

It was a spectacular experience. The salesman, owner and installers were top-notch, patient, willing to go the extra mile at each step. They subs-contracted for a scaffolding company, worked closely with the condo association to clarify the necessary specs and left my house spotless. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

The salesman was informative, prepared, amusing, honest- even entertaining! The company even treated us to lunch when we came out to visit the showroom! The crew was fast, neat, friendly - the guys that installed the door were so nice! They even put up with our puppy, who would not stop trying to get them to PLAY with him while they were trying to work! The windows are high quality, look beautiful and function well! The company owner and the salesman (Graham) have both made follow-up phone calls to us to check our level of satisfaction. We are very pleased with this company!

Sales meetings were very informative and pleasant. They were very accommodating with our tight scheduling requirements. The installation was very impressive and the quality of work was very professional and attractive. They spent several hours on the mill work - this is a good thing because the results look great. The site was left very clean.

Jack Cooper handled the sale and made a special effort to schedule the project prior to a party we were planning. He was extremely helpful. The installation crew were delayed on the arrival date because they had to purchase the hardware on the way. Because of this it seemed like they were very rushed to get the four doors installed in the afternoon. The doors fit well but attention to detail was a bit lacking on a couple of the doors. Some outside edges were left bare. The door handles had to be exchanged because they were the wrong type. The self closing door hinges were not adjusted. All considered, we still like the doors. The workers were neat and courteous.

Elected to file for city permit myself instead of paying $125 for them to do it. Salesperson volunteered to do the drawings for the permit, then goofed them up, but admitted so when I questioned him. I redrew and filed them. Production folks caught an egress issue in the salesperson s writeup, BEFORE windows were actually made. The contract revision did not increase the cost. They also advised us about smoke detectors needed for permit sign off. Team of 3 did the install over 2 days. Installation lead was very personable; the other 2 spoke limited English but were polite, diligent, and did a clean job. They modified the trim on the spot to fit our need to rehang our custom shutters. When the city inspector came out, he was complimentary about the work done. The tempering, egress and smoke detectors were spot on and we wouldn't have passed without them.

Custom Exteriors was our third bid. All the bids came in at very similar prices and all the sales reps. were professional, so it was difficult to decide which to choose. We liked the Anlin windows and were impressed with Custom Exteriors marketing materials so we went with them. The production and installation schedule proceeded as promised. The installation crew was polite and pretty tidy. They were willing to do a little extra work to preserve my existing trim on the patio door and garden window. One thing that surprised me was how much darker the house seems with the E3 windows. I would advise others to consider a lesser degree of protection if you don't need it. I have also been a tiny bit frustrated that the windows look streaky. We cleaned them and they looked great for a week, but then the streaks came back. There must be some residue on them. Overall, they were extremely professional and completed the job just as promised.

They were very professional, honest and are a straight forward business.

They were prompt and professional. They handled installing a large header for the french doors, and changed the position of a light switch. They beat the estimate of 2 competitors.
