Cindy and her husband Ken Nielsen bought the company Crawford Sheet Metal from the previous owners and operate it as a family business. Cindy was prompt in returning calls and seemed very knowledgeable. She is very confident when answering questions. Her husband, son and a friend of the son performed the work. Unfortunately, when the actual work was done we learned some of the information Cindy provided was incorrect e.g. Another company explained they used flashing to hide the rafter ends, but Cindy assured us that Ken had techniques to be sure the ends of the rafters were hidden by the gutters without using the flashing. When the gutters were installed, the new gutters were shallower than our original gutters leaving some rafter ends exposed. When we asked about the discrepancy Ken explained that Cindy was just the office help and was not familiar with the technical aspects of the job and was misinformed. He offered to lower the gutters but explained the end at the downspout would be too low. If we chose the flashing, he informed us he would use the same colored aluminum to hand fabricate the flashing so it would not have to be painted. He claimed other companies would use white pre-fabricated flashing that would then have to be hand painted or leave the white flashing exposed. Our only other option would be to have the rafter ends exposed. We elected for the latter based on Ken?s advice. The son and his friend did most of the installation while Ken cut the gutter to the proper lengths. Ken mentioned he tended to accumulate warranty repair work and performed the work when he had several to do at one time, consequently it might take a month or so for repairs to be done. So we tested our gutters before submitting final payment and found 4 out of 5 sections retained up to 3/4 inch of water. Ken sounded irritated when we reported this to him and argued that the gutters would retain some water, but agreed 3/4 inch of retained water was too much. Initially, he told us he would be back when he had accumulated other warranty repair jobs. We agreed and told him we would submit final payment when the work was properly completed and would try to be back in town when he could do the work. He later called back and said he would be out the next day (a weekend). He adjusted the gutters and found the section that held the most water had been improperly installed -- he corrected the installation. He required payment and we paid him in full that same day. The following winter in 2010, one end of a section of gutter detached from the roof and another section was leaking water. Cindy returned our call on the next business day and the repairs were completed within a few days. We never saw anyone do the work; we just noticed the problems had been corrected. The repairs were covered under the labor warranty.
Description of Work: Provided estimate and removed existing gutters. Also provided and installed approximately 160 ft stock seamless aluminum gutters and 5 down spouts on a single story home. There is a 5 year warranty on labor and there is a 40 year warranty on the product. We had to ask for the Product warranty certificate and they sent it, but it took a number of weeks. Cindy explained it took awhile for the Manufacturing company to send her the certificate.

Cindy came out to count the downspout sites and made an estimate. I paid extra for the repairs that were done later after they reviewed the gutters. I thought the prices for the downspouts and the repairs were reasonable. They explained everything that needed to be done so I could make an informed decision. The new downspouts fit in and are unobtrusive. I would use these folks again for gutter work.
Description of Work: Main job was to add downspouts to existing gutters (my husband had only installed the gutters). Gutters were reviewed and some small repairs made. Added short gutter on roof of addition.

Fully licensed and insured contractor. Job cost was within 10% of another bid by an outfit which had misrepresented that it was licensed and insured. Crawford's work crew was very conscientious and efficient. The job was completed in less than a day with appropriate clean-up as required. We were fully satisfied with our experience with the company and it's personnel.
Description of Work: Removal and installation of gutters and downspouts on 2-story residence. Gutters were pre-painted seamless white aluminum fascia and there were 6 gray aluminum downspouts.

Cindy was my contact for this experience. I found her to be very knowledgeable, professional and personable. She was responsive to my phone calls and accommodating when I asked that the old gutters be taken away before our scheduled installation date. The Installers arrived promptly and completed the work efficiently. I found them to be professional and personable as well.
Description of Work: Crawford Sheet metal replaced the gutters on my three bedroom one story house. The estimate was made promptly with discussion about the process and what to expect. We were having the house painted, so we removed the old gutters ourselves (messy job) about three weeks before the replacement date. When I called to ask if they would pick up the old gutters before the scheduled date - they did. The installation itself was prompt and professional. They appeared to take care in measurement and installation and were willing to answer my questions about the process. The clean up was good and I am pleased with the way the new gutters look.
