On 9/5, my husband and I went to the Pleasant Hill store to look at a lamp we had seen online. The store did not have it, but we bought it because we were able to use an in-store coupon to reduce the price from $349 to $319. More than SIX WEEKS later we were called and told the lamp was in. (SIX WEEKS!) On Sunday 10/18, we drove back to Pleasant Hill (from Danville) and picked it up. My husband loaded it into the car and did not comment that there was a hole in the box. I got it home and noticed that the box looked like it had been opened, and the word ?white? had been crossed out on the carton and replaced with the word ?bronze.? CLEARLY this was a return. I opened the box and immediately saw that all of the plastic packaging had been removed previously. And then I saw it ? an ENORMOUS gouge all the way up the base of the lamp. Very hard to miss. I called the store and was told by the saleswoman that she would talk to her manager on Monday and get me a replacement quickly and would even bring it here to my home. Wow. I was impressed. I never heard from her. I just called the store (today is Wednesday). The saleperson is off today, and the manager is out sick. The woman I talked to offered me no other options, just her sympathy.
