I moved into a house which had a water softener unit installed by them. After moving in I called them to service the unit, which they did. They certified the unit as the best and in very good condition. However a few days later I continued to see water stains in all bathrooms. And worst, one day we had bad tasting water. I called them to complaint and they sent someone to look at it. He could not determine the issue and recommended and expert. The expert took a look and after some treatment of the resin and adjustments informed that alls good. He also recommended I install a water purifier. I did not since i wanted to see how good their service is before I buy more from them. However after a few days the bad/salty water taste issue reoccurred. Now I have left them 2 messages and they ignore my calls. I don't have to say any more...

Response from ASSURED WATER PRODUCTS
07/02/2013 [member name removed] called the office and advised us they had purchased a home with a water treatment system. Upon looking up her address I explained to her according to our records the equipment originally installed at her address, on 2/24/1988, consisted of a Reverse Osmosis System for drinking water and a Water Conditioner to condition the water throughout the house. I also advised her, the system was overdue for the annual service and filter change, as the last time our records show a filter change service was on 04/07/2011. We scheduled a service appointment for the next day 07/03/2013 between 9-11am and I told her the labor charge for the visit would be $97.50 flat rate, plus the filters & tax. 07/03/2013 Upon arrival at the [member name removed] residence the technician found the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system had been removed, therefore no filter change was done. He performed a 12 point inspection on the water conditioner and found it to be operating properly; he added resin cleaner to refresh the resin @ n/c. The tech advised they need to replace the RO if they want to remove the salty taste. The [member name removed] told the tech they would look into what happened with the missing RO, or replace it. Water conditioners remove only hardness minerals, not sodium or chloride. The customer gave him a check for $97.50. 09/25/2013 [member name removed] called and scheduled a service appointment saying the “water has a salt-like bad taste for 1&1/2 days. Same thing happened one month ago.” Our office has no record of them contacting us about the salty taste one month ago and he told the office he didn’t call us that time. We scheduled a service call for the next day 09/26/2013. 09/26/2013 Service tech arrived at the property and again examined the water conditioner and found it to be working properly. Customer said “water is salty tasting in the morning – filter on refrigerator does not take salt taste away as day goes on eventually salty taste goes away” (Refrigerator carbon filters do not remove sodium either.) Service tech indicated he could find nothing wrong and was perplexed. Water tasted like normal city water to tech so he explained to [member name removed] that he needed to replace the RO purifier if he wanted sodium free water, water conditioners do not remove sodium or chloride. The [member name removed] home is located in a brackish groundwater area. Apparently the prior owner/occupant took the RO purifying system with them. There was N/C for this 2nd service call. 10/02/2013 [member name removed] called complaining of salty taste in the water? Due to our concern for his situation considering the tech dispatched on the first two calls could find nothing wrong with the water conditioner, we scheduled an appointment for the first available date on our schedule, October 7th, for the owner, who has been in the water and plumbing business for over 40 years in this local area to complete a performance check on the water conditioner. Skip was on vacation the first week in October. 10/04/2013 7:30pm Friday- [member name removed] called and said “can we put the w/c on bypass (we have no potable water to drink) or if someone could come out tonight or before Monday”. We explained that the owner was out for the evening and we do not work on Sundays, but that we would send Skip an urgent message with her request, immediately. I called her back @7:40pm and offered to have Skip call her and walk them through putting the system in bypass, but she said no don’t worry, it can wait until Monday, I know he has done everything that he can do, and we can wait until Monday. We confirmed the appointment scheduled for 10/7/2013 @ 9:30-11:30am. 10/07/2013 Skip & Bob went together on the service call at Bob’s request since he could find nothing wrong and wanted to make sure he was not overlooking something. Bob has been servicing water systems for about 4-5 years and Skip for over 40 years. Skip found the water conditioner in good condition and working properly and advised the [member name removed] that the source water contains sodium and chloride which will give it a salty taste. He also explained that a water conditioner does not remove the sodium, only calcium and magnesium (the hardness minerals). The Reverse Osmosis system (which had been removed from the property) was installed by the prior owner to remove the sodium and purify their drinking and cooking water. Skip, being sympathetic to [member name removed] frustrations over the fact that someone had removed the drinking water system (RO) quoted him a highly discounted price of $390.00 to replace it for him, system and labor. This system normally sells for $595.00 + tax and labor and comes with a five-year warranty. Skip advised [member name removed] if he wanted to remove the salty taste he needed to replace the Reverse Osmosis system and there was N/C for this 3rd service call. 10/31/2013 @ 8:13am [member name removed]called and left a message that the water still tastes salty. Gave the message to Skip to call and explain to him he needs another Reverse Osmosis installed if he wants to remove the salty taste in the water. The water conditioner will not remove it, nor was it ever designed to do so. Skip suggested he may want to put the water conditioner in bypass for a couple weeks and see if it makes a difference, if he did not believe this & if it does not make a difference in taste of water, then it has nothing to do with the water conditioner. The company cannot continue to send service technicians out to his house, at no charge, only to tell him the same thing. Summary At Assured Water, customer service is very important, it is our number 1 priority, thus 30 years in business with no complaints whatsoever, until now. We have no control over the source water, only the water treated by the water system at their house. We also have no record of him ever telling anyone at this company that he was seeing water stains in all bathrooms; all his complaints have been about salty water, not spots. [member name removed] seems resistant to hear this about his water system, nor do anything to restore the system in his house to what was there before. He seems to want Assured Water to replace the system, at no charge, even though we had nothing to do with removing it, or at the very least to change the source water coming into his home, the later being impossible. His anger seems misdirected at Assured Water, rather than whoever took the system, i.e.: prior owners, realtor, etc. not at a company who is going above and beyond to please a customer. Three service calls and only one service charge, we did what we could for [member name removed] and are willing to do what we can to keep our customer happy, short of giving away equipment. I do not understand the ratings [member name removed] gave this company. How do we deserve and “F” for responsiveness when each call was responded to promptly, in 2 of 3 calls we had a service technician at their home the very next day. With over 3000 customers we service throughout the greater bay area, I feel our response time was more than an A+.

I moved into a house that already had water conditioner and water purifyer. Phone number on water conditioner had Assured Water Products phone number. I called to inquire about service because I did not know anything about the products. The office personel were very professional and patient to explain what I had and what the cost was to service/repair it. They scheduled an appointment to come out that week and the serviceman showed up on time, thats unusual for most servicemen I have dealt with. He explained how the products worked, changed the filters and totally cleaned both the water conditioner and purifyer. He made some adjustments to the products for no additional cost and even gave me a senior discount, without me asking for it. This company is definately one I would do business with again.
Description of Work: Repair water conditioner and changed filters on water purifyer.

I bought a water softener from Assured Water Products and it works great, once a year it needs to be serviced so Assure will call us and set up an appointment to come by. They always check the water content and give us the results right away, and if it needs to be treated they will treat it as well. Another part of the service is to clean the filtration system and to change the filter to a new one. We have been using this company for years and are very pleased with the service they provide and always find them excellent.
Description of Work: Assured water products comes out once a year to service my Water Softener, they call and make an appointment and come in and test the water and give everything a cleaning.
