Went very well. A breaker serving 3 outlets in our kitchen tripped at around 8 a.m. and would not reset. The first electrician I called couldn't respond until 2 days later. I then called Service Electric and spoke to Mike, the owner. Advised him the affected outlets powered our microwave and electronic ignition for our gas range and oven among other things. He told me he could come out the same day between 1-3pm. Actually arrived before 2pm. Quickly determined the problem was a bad 20 amp breaker(original one from 1986}. Had a replacement on his truck and installed it in a few minutes. Total charge was $110.50. $95 for the service call and the rest for the part. Not exactly cheap, but worth it for the quick response. I used this company about a year ago when we had an electrical problem with our heat pump. I first called the HVAC company that installed the unit. After checking the unit over that tech advised that it was a problem at our main electrical panel and referred me to Service Electric. They responded very quickly and fixed the problem at a very reasonable cost.

As explained above, they made room in their crowded schedule for this shorter house call, and frixed the problem as explained above. He was pleasant, professional, and thorough in fixing the problem. The standing 'first hour' rate was sufficient to cover the cost of the call, fortunately, because it is steep for that first hour. But from the standpoint of safety (could have had a fire from the melted wires) it was well worth it.
Description of Work: Despite being quite busy, Kevin came to our house to correct a melted wiring connection inside of a bathroom ceiling heating/lighting unit. He listened to the problem and history of what had happened, and diagnosed the problem as mis-wired connection using an insufficient size/grade of wire. He corrected it, tested some components, and checked the final operation of the heater. He kept the time under one hour, so the basic house-call rate was sufficient.
