They shinned me on for 4 weeks and when I started getting upset and asked for the owner of the company they gave me a ficticious name and began to hang up on me when I called to ask them to complete the job they were paid to do.
Description of Work: I called to have my septic tank drained. The guy who came to do the service (Dale) drained the over flow tank and not the main tank he drained a the main tank on a second system I have on the property but not the over Flo. My tank was the one that is backing up into our basement shower. He charged me over 2,000.00 dollars and he never opened the lid to. MY main tank.

Do All Plumbers Operate Like This? It was a weekend. We had come home after work to find the laundry room flooded from a hose leaking at the top of the water heater. I was told the rates were the same on the weekend as during the week and they would come out with a free estimate. I waited from Friday evening until Saturday afternoon. They kept saying they were on the way, because I was going to call someone else. I was upset because my husband has been diagnosed with dementia and he used to do all of these things. So yes, I was emotional. When he finally got there he said it would be $70 for the hose and a total of $325.00. We already had the water shut off so it wasn't leaking. My husband kept saying he could do it, and I was thinking the same thing. We could probably buy a hose at Home Depot and do it. It's my own fault. I should have told them to take a hike. But I was stressed out and made a bad decision to let him do it. He kept saying the price was the price, he couldn't change it. When he left I called to complain that it cost so much. That's over $200 for labor and he was there a half hour and I waited for 24 hours for him. The owner said he'd look into it and never did. My problem with them is that they REFUSE to give you ANY indication of cost. Not a flat labor rate or a worse case-best case scenario, nothing. I called a few months later as if I was just calling in and I asked about their rates. He kept saying it depends on the job but we come out for free. I told him I needed a hose changed on the water heater and he kept saying he couldn't give me an inkling of what it would cost. Not even a minimum charge, a base rate, or a starting point, of what it would cost. I'm still upset about this months later. So I remembered I have Angie's list. This is my only recourse. I am going to check periodically to see if the guy ever gets any good reviews.

Description of Work: Called 5:00 pm Sunday afternoon regarding broken copper pipe in garage which was visible at waist high level. Accessible on 2x6 stud. Pipe was split in two spots. We asked how much service call was. Was told "no service charge, just the cost to repair. Would not give estimate for repair amount. Would not give an estimate over the phone. Arrived 5:45 pm. Gave verbal estimate of $750.00. We said we would wait until tomorrow and find someone else; was told current charge then was $285.00 for driving to our house (30 minutes ) and look at the broken pipe. Since we already owed $285 we let him repair the pipe. Entire repair time was 40 minutes. So to drive here from P****** Pines (8 miles) and 40 mins of work time we were gouged $730.00 to make 4 cuts and solder 2 couplings.
