Description of Work: We had a large block wall on the property line between my yard and neighbors and being mid 1960's vintage it didn't have much of a footing and was falling over. In addition, the existing wall at the back of our property was only 4'-6" high so OCBW raised that wall to 6' which is much nicer and improves our privacy. Dan and his crew did both the demo of the old wall and construction of the new block wall and footing with great results. From the first meeting, estimate, demo and construction the entire process went very well. Dan's pricing was very fair and reasonable, his crew did a great job and the new wall looks fantastic. We are extremely happy with Orange County Block Wall and recommend them highly.

+ 0 moreThis was a joint project with our next door neighbors. Dan's estimate was not only the most reasonable, it was the most clear as to the details. We had 2 other estimates. One was $1,500 more, plus had debris being hauled away by us! One was $2,000 more. Another contractor just never got back to us. The 2 man crew showed up when expected. And completed everything when expected. Dan came by daily to check on progress. We asked that the excavated debris not be dumped on our hillside landscape (we'd had that happen before). The crew was very careful and clean. They did a very good job of making it flow into an existing 40 year old piece. We and our neighbors would recommend this company.
Description of Work: 51 ft long, 24 inch high slump stone wall, on a hillside, with matching pillar.

Description of Work: Owner, Dan Schwartz, promptly came out and reviewed our work and gave terrific evaluation, suggestions and advice on numerous wall cracking and foundation problems. Helped analyze what I had to do and was so generous with his time ( for nothing $$). So impressed, I sent him a $50 gift card and will be contracting w/ them soon. Very impressive contractor !

The work was completed within just over a week of us contacting him, whereas other contractors gave us dates of a couple months out. They did a great job and the wall looked seamless, as if it had always been there. We would certainly utilize their services again in the future if need be.

Even though he knew there was a good chance I'd have to go with the builder my neighbor selected, he was generous with his time, expertise, and information. I wouldn't hesitate to have O.C. My neighbor already has a contractor, but I told Dan I wanted to verify what a fair price would be and other things to watch for. He provided me with a number of design alternatives and identified the pros and cons of each, including aesthetic considerations, structural issues and permitting issues with the notoriously difficult city Planning Department. The project is on hold while I struggle through the city bureaucracy, but Dan's knowledge and experience was extremely helpful.
