Description of Work: I originally thought my furnace was broken so I got the deal where they offered a discount on diagnostic services. Then I found out a day or two before they came that my furnace did work but took a long time to start up. So they used the amount I paid as a credit to like a maintenance check up-type service. That was very nice of them, they didn't have to do that. They gave me a sheet of recommendations (VERY HELPFUL!) and now I'll use them again because they didn't push anything on me and at the same time advised me on how to maintain my furnace until I decide to get a new one.

Description of Work: Checked AC that was icing up. Confirmed it was low on refrigerant. Recommended replacement of system since it was 25 years old.

Description of Work: I had two problems - one was the ac which was no longer cooling the house. I bought a Special Price diagnostic for the air conditioner system and an estimate for replacing the kitchen sink & disposal & adding a line from the fridge to the water system (to create ice & cold water). Don, the tech who came out to diagnose the ac was top-flight - an honest, helpful and well informed fella, he also explained how the problem was with the cat fur from our long-haired cats & a system filter that was put in, incorrectly. I was able to remedy both on my own. | |The second issue (Kitchen related as per above) was not as clear. The fella came & gave me a quote for the kitchen sink, disposal install at nearly $2K! $1800, to be specific. The added water line was going to be another hunk of big $$. I politely baulked . The only error he made was in having me write a check for $59 for the visit which I did, but later double-checked my request (for a quote only) and called Stewart's office & got the money back as it was in error. I was able to get the kitchen done, including the water line for about $600.00 with a smaller plumbing company. At the same time, I also had him install a brand new Toto toilet (which the other company had quoted well over $2K for labor only) installed including the toilet, hauling of the old toilet & labor - all for just over $500.00. Again, Don (the Stewart tech) was top-notch - and while he did try to upwell me on a new AC unit, he gracefully dropped it when he understood that cost was currently out of reach for me. I encourage folks to shop around and get a few quotes since the range of prices in air systems & plumbing/installation is pretty extreme.
