Darren Kicker's Affordable & Reliable Electrical

I expected long waits for permits and perhaps delays with parts...but the permits happened within a week, scheduled work for a Monday, completed in just a couple of days. Final inspection went flawlessly. Darren has already come back for a few additional small projects...he's experienced, punctual, and neat.

I went great! The job was pretty difficult and Darren had no problem with any of the issues that arose. Really professional and communicative before and during the process.

I had a long list of concerns regarding the electrical system in my home. Mr. Kicker arrived early, patiently listened to me as I walked him through all my issues and then proceeded to triage them such that I could address real hazards and ignore the things that were not as much an issue as I suspected. I have infinite respect for his work and work ethic and the peace of mind I was afforded by having such an expert assess and address my concerns is literally priceless. He left me with a great quote for kitchen lighting I will be pursuing in the next few months and I look forward to many more projects with him in the future.

Darren arrived a few minutes early and finished in a few hours. He brought drop cloths and cleaned up as he worked. I will be calling him for future wiring projects.

I work in an electrical related field so it's easy to spot good work. Darren's work was AWESOME! He came quickly (was early), was extremely professional and polite, performed a superior job, ran good tests on the repair, and stayed on site until the repair was tested and confirmed. I was treated as if I was his most important customer. I would definitely hire Darren again. He's definitely a credit to his profession.

It went great. Pre-work: Darren was responsive, thorough, clear and amiable in our pre-work email correspondence. His quote was sensible and unambiguous. Job day: Darren was prompt, courteous, neat, professional, concerned with doing things right and dead-on with his time estimate. There were no surprises; he came in, did precisely what we had agreed upon, and I paid him what we agreed upon. Kindly, Darren did take the time to answer some questions unrelated to our contract. This was incredibly helpful to me and he did not charge for it. That was very kind of him. All-in-all, Darren was great and I would both recommend him and hire him again. I have not been all that impressed with some of the individuals/firms I have hired to work on home projects, which makes Darren stand out all the more.

We had a hot tub in our back yard that was installed by the previous owner, and it did not follow code guidelines for safety. We asked Darren to cap off the electrical lines that led out to the tub in the yard, as well as some landscape lighting that also was not up to code. Darren was able to give me an estimate that matched is actual bill before he even arrived at our site (by having me take pictures of the sites that needed attention). He arrived a few minutes early, as he said he would. He took care of removing the wiring that ran from our house and into the back yard and to the landscape lights. He removed the risky hardware and even worked around a hornet's nest that he had discovered in our power switch-box. We are very satisfied with Darren's work and professionalism, and we would definitely hire him again.

Excellent!! Fastest service I've EVER received from anyone! He replied to me at 12:58 pm, arrived at my door at 1:15 pm and the wiring replaced, the job completed and out the door by 1:45 pm. I'm a very happy customer :))

Darren was done in an hour and a half, with minimal drywall cutouts. Could not be more pleased with his work, his willingness to work with our preferences and his professional demeanor.

Very punctual and very professional. He also leaves things clean and neat, inside or outside of the home.

Darren was able to come within a few days and arrived on time. He quickly verified the circuit panel and GFI functionality before going into super sleuth mode. Within 20 mins, Darren discovered and reconnected a loose wire in an unused wall outlet behind a headboard. Power was restored to both rooms. Here's the REALLY special thing he did. He told me he billed a one hour minimum, said I still have about 30 minutes and asked if there were any other electrical issues. THERE WAS...we had a 3-way light switch that never worked right, top and bottom of a stairway. Darren checked it out, moved a wire or two around (I had installed it wrong ages ago) and the switches worked correctly for the first time in 20 years!! With time still remaining in the initial hour, I paid him, shook his hand and thanked him for doing such a fine job. I have since recommended him to several of my own HandyMan clients.

Then I went ahead and did the drywall and let him finish. Darren did a tremendous amount of work and he did it all in 2 and a half days. Amazing really, amazing. Darren is not the cheapest out there but compared to the others I looked at he was the better bid. You are always going to find a company or two that will give a lowball the price but you just don't want to use those kinds of companies. You will also find lots of companies and give a higher price because who knows, they are busy or they don't think they need the work, who knows what. Darren was kind of in between, a little bit below average I suppose on pricing, perfect place. If he were lower I probably would have discounted it, if he were any higher I probably still would have used him, if he were significantly higher I probably would have just yeah. Excellent service Reliable, on time, reasonably priced and did what he said he was going to do in less time than he thought. Promptly answered questions we had even days after the job was done. I would definitely use his services again and highly recommend him.

Sad to say, my problem was in an area in which he does not compete. He therefore was unable to work his magic for us this time. He refused to accept payment for making the house call. As I said in my first interview, he's extremely proficient at what he does and is an overall great guy! CHOOSE HIM TO MEET YOUR ELECTRICAL NEEDS!!
