CMS Handyman Service

They did a nice job. They flaked three times before they came. They scheduled and then they flaked out, and it was hard for me because I work. The room that got painted was nice.

It went pretty good. I do think he is more of handyman than a painter. I do think it was good deal and we had a fine experience. I may not use him again for painting but possibly for something else.

We bought two coupons from CMS that came with 3 hours of handyman services each. In that time Mike Jr was able to do a wide variety of small jobs both inside and outside our home. It was a huge help in getting so many of those annoying little jobs out of the way. Things that maybe you could do yourself, but just don't have the time or the tools or the supplies. He even helped solve a problem with a heavy wooden gate that leads from the street to our front door. Twice before others had rehung the gate after it ripped from the brick wall. But it was Mike Jr who thought to cut the gate in half and attach it to both sides of the brick wall thus cutting the weight in half. The new double door gate looks great and two years later the gate still works!

The painter arrived on time, well equipped, masked off the room appropriately and used a roller and paint brush to paint a heavy textured ceiling and walls of the dining room, using paint I supplied. Given the time it took to complete these areas ( 8 hrs) he did not have time to repaint the trim which then did myself after he left. He did an excellant job and cleaned up after himself well. The job was completed as advertised and I was very satisfied.

They did the basic work, but they used the Big Deal as a way to try to upsell for other services. I refused to let them do extra work.

I first hired Mike under a general handyman coupon he posted over a year ago. He did a list of jobs for me quickly and efficiently. I hired him again when he posted a painting coupon, he painted an interior room of my house, but I also hired him to install crown molding in that room. He did a good job -- perhaps not the most perfect painting job, but then again, my walls are rough and imperfect. He did better with the crown molding than whomever did the rest of my house. And for the various other jobs he did, always it was adequate. He's not a perfectionist, so if you have a perfect house, he might not be the right handyman for you -- but I don't, and Mike's work is always an improvement. He is definitely fair, honest, and seems inexpensive to me, but I have little basis for comparison. I give an overall experience A in part because none of my jobs were urgent, and I enjoyed working with Mike. He taught me a lot about a number of maintenance issues and I would hire him again for non-urgent repair work. But, I do have to give poor grades for responsiveness. Mike would fail to answer messages for weeks at a time, and more than a month passed between the time I hired him to do a job and when he actually did it. We had settled on a date, he cancelled, and he did not return to it for over a month, being out of town. There have been other complaints about this on Angie's List and they are probably fair.

They were really great. It was an Angie's List Big Deal. They did a good job. They did a lot of work and they did everything I told them to do. Their finish work was really good. They didn't complain about anything. The price was very reasonable.

We purchased the Big Deal $89.00 for 3 hours of bathroom grout caulking and restoration. The handyman who came out was late for the appointment. He didn't seem to know what we had paid for. He wanted to charge us for a complete makeover of the shower. After much discussion with my husband, an alternate plan was selected, he wanted to do a thorough cleaning before restoring the grout. Although he was the owner of the company, he couldn't make an appointment while he was here; he told us we had to email him to set up the next appointment. After several back and forth emails, an appointment date was selected that fit into his schedule. A different handyman came for the next appointment. He didn't know what the job was, and didn't have the right equipment. He left and told us he was going to contact the owner, who was on a different job. The owner never contacted us; we had to correspond through emails. Again, we had a lot of trouble finding a mutually acceptable time for another appointment, and we never made another appointment. We gave up on using this handyman service, now and at any other time in the future.

Honest, did a good job and was easy to deal with.

They did a good job. There were some drops of paint and some on the trim otherwise a good job.

I responded to a coupon offer for 3 hours of grout work for $89.00. I asked him before I hired him whether the coupon could be applied to cleaning and sealing the grout and he said it could. Handyman arrived on time, was pleasant, and with the supplies he needed, and for which I reimbursed him, to do the job. The grout did not stay in place and needed to be repaired again within a few months. He cleaned the grout, but did not seal it, and left me with the bottle of sealant he selected (for which I paid) to seal it myself later. I followed the directions on the bottle, but within a few months the grout became dirtier than when he started. While the handyman was pleasant, he really wasn't competent to do this particular job. I am very disappointed with the results. My counters are worse than when he arrived.

Michael is very nice & industrious. (Not to mention tall & hansom!) He worked hard, seemed to know what he was doing, & was honest about anything he felt should be left to experts. I would have him back any time

Bought an Angie's List deal - $100 for one room of painting, bought two rooms. Didn't realize trim wasn't included nor was changing paint colors (used two colors in my sons' room) so had to pay about $200 extra, which was a little disappointing. It might have been listed on the fine print, but I didn't bother reading it (silly me). Anyway, the guy was prompt and thorough and did a good job cleaning up. Overall a good experience.

The service was to provide caulking and grouting for up to three (3) hours. The worker was present for far less time (after being hours late). The work performed was good but the grouting in the shower was not repaired. Service was fine but will try someone else next time.

I wanted them to calk a kitchen sink and bathtub and thought they would be able to do the bathtub in my back house where my daughter lived. Was only able to get the kitchen sink and bathtub in my house done in the time available. Did an excellent job, I thought they might be able to get more done, but I am not an expert at calking.

I contacted the vendor when I did not receive a reply to my email & received a prompt return telephone call along with an apology. Two painters arrived at the appointed time. I purchased the paint recommended by the vendor & was ready to go. Unfortunately their pressure washer broke down & they had to resort to using the hose to clean & prep. Lost some of the 8 hours. They did not finish the project as we all expected but they painted the difficult to reach areas of the house (the second story eaves). The worked stopped about the 7th hour and the 8th hour was used to clean up their paint brushes & put away their ladders & drop cloths. The work was neat for the most part with several paint splatters here-&-there including some on my outdoor furniture which I've since sanded and stained, so no worries now & hence the overall "B" instead of an "A" rating. The boss man was pleasant; his assistant seemed a little resentful that they weren't being hired to paint the whole house.

The provider went MIA and Angie's List reimbursed me for the purchase.

I tried calling and emailing numerous times and never got a return call or email. I got a refund from Angies List and would never recommend CMS Handyman.

Mike was great. He was on time and did a good job with everything I asked him to do. I hired him again recently to do some electrical work and repainting and he did a great job with that too. I would definitely recommend him.

Mike was very professional and very flexible with his scheduling. He came out and painted the room with one other gentleman. They were able to paint the room with two coats of paint in about 2 hours time. They were very clean and even touched up the inside of the closet and coat rack and shelves! Unfortunately, one small spot was missed with the second coat. However, Mike was gracious enough to come back out himself and touch that up too free of charge! I really like Mike's work and I have already contacted him for a couple other "handyman" jobs around the house. Highly recommended!

My experience with them as a company was great however, I was unable to proceed because of an illness.

We made an appointment, he showed up, did all the work asked of him and more! excellent!

Michael is a delightful young man who was prompt, efficient and did an excellent job of re-caulking my shower and sinks. I will definitely call on him again.

Vendor arrived on time and completed the requested work within the three hours that was pre-paid.

Not well, i never received a call back.
