Description of Work: The old adage "you get what you pay for" should apply to CMS. Yes, he painted the bathroom but did not mask the edges to the ceiling or the towel racks, baseboard and mirror correctly. As a result, there was paint on all these items. What's more, there were paint drips throughout the walls that were not smoothed out. Sometimes Angie's List has great venders at a great price. CMS is not one of them. If quality matters to you, better to pay a few hundred dollars extra to get a professional. If quality is not an issue, go to CMS.

Description of Work: I had them come out and re-grout my kitchen counter, shower, bathtub and wash basin.

Description of Work: Removed and installed 4 windows. One of the studs next to the window was rotted through, so he replaced the stud and installed drywall.

Description of Work: We hired CMS after receiving the Angie's List offer for 3 hours of drywall service for $99. We asked Mike (the younger Mike) to quote more detailed work including drywall framing, texture, painting, door trim, stucco patch, etc. We were very pleased with the price he quoted and agreed to hire him. My main issue is that while he seems to be a nice guy, he did not display a lot of professionalism and did not complete the agreed upon repairs. The issue arose when I attempted to negotiate the price down a bit more over the phone after our meeting, but he said he couldn't lower the price any further. I agreed to proceed at the originally negotiated price. At the end of his visit, he told me he was done and ready to leave. When I inspected the work, I found it incomplete. He said that he did NOT agree to do all of the items for the original price and thought he was only going to do some of the job while I completed the rest. I think he would be better off providing his clients with a written estimate spelling everything out before starting a job to avoid any such confusion or misrembering on his part (or anyone's part). In this case, the only documentation we had is what I wrote down while meeting with him. In the end, we agreed that I would not pay him the complete amount because he did not complete the job. To his credit, he admitted that perhaps he made mistakes, got in over his head, misquoted my job, and didn't take into account all the trades involved, the distance to my house, etc. As a professional, I think he should have sucked it up, completed the job and I would have probably given him a good review and referrals. (The quality of what he finished was good.) Additionally, we live in Ventura County (Newbury Park) and he complained several times about the cost and time involved for him to get to my house to do my job. He should have taken this into account when bidding my job initially and not have complained to the customer about it. In a nutshell, 1) get everything in writing to protect yourself, 2) stick to the basics (drywall, etc.) and take caution when hiring him to come to Ventura County.
