I cannot say enough good about this company. They were on time, cleaned up and followed up to make sure I was happy. They came back three successive days and each time they arrived at exactly the time they said they would arrive. There were no hidden costs and no funny stuff at all. If you want a fair price, nice people with a great work ethic, this company is for you. Very happy. Thanks Angie for setting me up with the company.

It went perfect. Within an hour of my initial call for an estimate he was at my house and quoted me a very fair price. He started the work immediately and the treee was down, cut up, stump cut flush with the ground and the wood removed in an hour. The arborist who cut down the tree knew exactly what to do to cause it to fall safely between my house and my neighbors and probably saved me a $1,000 ER visit if I would have tried to cut it down.
Description of Work: Removed a 25 foot tree between my house and my neighbors.

I was referred to this service froma business card left at my door. I contacted them and spoke to Ernie (the name on the business card) and he came by for a quote. We agreed on the work to be done and set a date for the work to begin the following week. He said he needed a check for the "materials" so I gave him a check for $3000 (almost the full amount of the job) which I noticed was cashed immediately. The day the work was supposed to start (I believe a monday), Ernie and his crew were a no show. I never received any call from Ernie saying he would be late or not making it. I had to "go looking for him" and of course I called him. Ernies excuse was that he was finishing a job elsewhere because he supposedly promised a job to a client. I reminded him that he cashed my check and that he had to show up the next day. I just needed the work done. Reason being we had a planned baby shower at our house and I didn't have the time to find someone else. So next day (a couple days after he was supposed to start), Ernie shows up and they start working. And by "they" I mean his guys. Ernie stands back and "supervises" as everything is going on. He even dissappeared a few times. So he originally said the job would be a couple days but it got dragged out to be a week long. Reason being, he forgot it was a holiday that weekend and didn't plan to have the sod delivered ahead of time. Anyway, the job was eventually completed and the quality of the work was fine. I was content with everything up to that point. I still owed Ernie a final payment of $1000 so he came by to pick up the check a couple weeks later. While he was there, I showed Ernie a large section of grass that was turning yellow. Ernie said he would come by and replace it if need be. I told him I'll keep watering it and see if there's any change. Sure enough there wasn't and there was a dead circle of grass in the center of the yard. So I gave Ernie a call (cause I figured he was a man of his word) and he said he was in Ensenada but would send someone by the house. Nobody ever came by. Called him several more times as the months passed. Same answer and same result. Continued to call and left several voicemails. None of my calls were returned. Eventually, one day I had my wife call from her phone (a different number) and Ernie answered. She politely told him the issue and Ernie said he "sent someone by" (not true) but would send someone by "again" supposedly the next day. We were home all day the following day waiting for one of his guys to show up and nothing. So Ernie not only lied to me but he also lied to my wife. By this point, several months had already passed and I pretty much gave up on the guy. Fast forward to about a week ago, (about 4 months after job) we came home from out of town and found pieces of sod (and they looked like leftovers from a job) on our concrete patio. We never received a phone call from Ernie that anyone would be dropping off any sod. Also since we were gone, we had no idea how long it was left there. Just by looking at it you could tell the sod pieces were in rough shape. Not only that but did Ernie really expect me to replace the dead sod myself?! Last I spoke to him in person he told me HE would fix it! Now I have pieces of dead sod and a mess to clean up from my patio and oh yea...there's still the dead spots in my lawn that needs to be addressed to. So of course I called Ernie about the sod pieces (I'm assuming but pretty sure) he so graciously left on our patio and asked him what the deal was. A man answered and said he would "tell Ernie" and have him get back to me but I noticed the voice sure did sound a lot like Ernie. So I said "Hey Ernie". There was a pause for a few seconds and then he hung up on me. Normally I wouldn't care to write a review but that last experience over the phone was the last straw. Such bad manners and business practices that I hope nobody else has to deal with. So for anyone reading this considering to hire ERNIE M. URENO TREE SERVICE for work I'll say this... I had no issues with his guys. They worked hard and did their job but dealing with Ernie is a headache. Get ready for the runaround and chasing him down to start/finish a job. He'll show up and do the work when its convenient to him and he'll always have an excuse! Don't pay him up front until all the work is done and his promises are fulfilled because he won't follow through even if he gives his word. Good luck!

He took my architect plans with a promise to give me a quote two days hence. He never called back. I had to track him down after two weeks. He then promised to return my set of plans. Well, you can guess how that went. I still have not gotten my plans back 6 weeks later. This guy is a maroon. His brother (whom he sent to do the estimating) is a maroon. Avoid these fools at all costs.
Description of Work: I asked for a quote on landscaping (he is also doing business under the name "Savings Landscaping"). He sent hi "brother" out to view the job site and provide an estimate. I loaned him a set of my landscape architect plans in order to do the estimate for work.

Description of Work: I hired Ernie to remove a very large pine tree and some bird of paradise plants in front of my home. He initially told me the job would take about 2-3 days and ended taking an entire week. There were 2 sprinkler heads at the base of the tree they removed. One of them they hit so hard it broke the pipe above and underground and the other they simply removed and then buried the open pipe and just left them that way! After several calls to this man to come out and fix the sprinkler system he has rendered unusable I have received nothing but promises and talk but no action whatsoever! He even had the nerve to return to pick up some of his equipment he carelessly left behind and promised to be there "first thing in the morning" to fix the sprinklers and then never showed! I wish I could tell you my woes with this guy ended there but sadly, they do not. About a week after the work was completed, the plants I paid him hundreds of dollars to remove started growing back! It appears that he just cut them a couple of inches below ground level and then covered them over with dirt to give the appearance of a completely removed plant! If you want to hire this guy, be my guest, but do so at your own peril.
