Vaden Construction

Steve did an excellent job redoing our main bathroom. He offered advice in choosing the cabinets, countertop and sink. He handled the removal and disposition of the old materials and the installation of the new. He is attentive to detail, a fine craftsman and a polite gentleman. I highly recommend him.

Steve Vaden has been our contractor for several projects. This time he replaced very old siding on a side of our home that faces weather/sun, and repaired some issues underneath. He also replaced and trimmed out all new windows on that side, including paint. He also made repairs to the staircase leading up to the upper level, and painted everything -- trim, siding, etc., beautifully. He is always very professional, timely and courteous. Very well. Came quickly, came for a few days to tend to damage; timely; very courteous; a good educator about assessing and explaining the problem and solutions; good listener. Bonus: owner is active in community, with focus on youth education.

The job went great. Steve Vaden is a master at his work. We were under a strict timeline due to a deadline to leave the rental we were in. Steve kept us on track.

A no go. No idea why he never got back to me?. I graded him high on professionalism, punctuality, and responsiveness for his first response to my phone calland the April 10th appointment that he kept.

We needed to completely replace our very old 20'x20' redwood deck in our backyard. We were impressed with Steve Vaden on first meeting him. He understood we wanted a well-built but not expensive replacement. He's a good listener and gave us several options for all aspects of the project. His bid was also the most reasonable of those we received. He is also easy to contact, returning calls and text messages quickly. We are very happy with the result. Also, during the deck construction, we needed emergency repairs to the skylights in our roof. When we asked Steve to recommend someone for roof work, he agreed to take a look at it to see what it needed. He determined the skylights only required resealing and re-fastening, and he did the work for us very quickly and inexpensively before the next rain storm. There has been no leaking since his repairs were made. We strongly recommend Vaden Construction.

First impression = responsive and punctual. Next impression = professional and competent. Thorough inspection, verbal description of work and options followed by detailed proposal. Constant communication before work began and as job progressed. As expected once he got into the job some additional "damage" was uncovered. He discussed how he planned to deal with the surprises. Job finished on time and at budget. Over the years and with 3 different houses we've done considerable repairs and major / minor remodeling. We value how a contractor solves the inevitable problems that arise. Steve ranks right up with the best we've used, and we've had some top notch contractors.

Really a nice guy. I would have liked to have him do the work. His lack of responsiveness broke the deal though. This work has a time sensitive nature and I had to go with the next higher bid. I was very disappointed.

They were punctual and respectful. I sat and watched them work and they did a great job! The gentleman triple-checked the work to make sure that everything was done properly. He was the type I wanted to work with because I can turn my back and still know that the job is going to be perfect. They're coming back in two weeks to install a thermostatically-controlled fan.

Vaden Construction was a dream to work with. They were prompt, courteous, clean, inventive and incredibly good at what they do. We could't be happier. Thank you!

We met Steve Vaden just after we bought an old house. The power went out during a raging storm, we bought a generator and didn't know how to hook it up to our appliances. We called Steve Vaden and he came right over, worked with my husband in the raging rain storm, he crawled under our house to hook it up. Steve was responsive when we most needed someone. add to that, he's just a great guy. I'd hire him again in a minute.

On time , clean work , easy to deal with and fair on priceing

The job went great. Steve did everything exactly as I asked him to. He is very personable and easy to work with. He has done many projects for me and I will rehire him again.

Vaden Construction are wonderful. He was very good at getting his bids to us. He was Johnny-on-the-Spot with all of that. I'm a real estate broker and it's so helpful to work with someone who is quick. He's been very, very, very good with that. He's a real forthright guy. He's respectful towards women, which is incredibly important. A lot of times, they aren't. But he just has a good feel about him. He's probably pretty good at what he does.

We chose another contractor.

Over all it was an excellent experience. Steve Vaden was on the job from start to finish and closely supervised his crew, which was also excellent and very accommodating. We would hire Vaden Construction for any painting and/or remodeling jobs we have in the future.

I would use him again in the future. The overall experience was good.

The job went well. Mr. Vaden gave us two options, one conservative and the other "the best job possible". We also wanted to do some of the work ourselves. He completed "phase 1" and we were to complete "phase 2". After getting into phase 2, we needed his expertise again. There were no "I told you so", just a good attitude to help us again. The second phase really took a carpenter's expertise to connect, replace and preserve the deck and staircase as much as possible. Paint goes on this weekend ( we feel we can handle that much!), and we are very happy with the result. This is a guy who understands and respects the value of your dollar. We will definately use his services again.

i called mr. vaden of Vaden Construction and expiained to him the work i wanted done and asked for a proposal and estimate. mr. vaden came personally to my house. i found him to be a very courteous and agreeable man. we discussed the project in detail. he took the measurements he needed to provide a proposal and estimate and promised to do so within a week after checking with city hall building department. i called him back three days later and then a week later. he said hat he had checked with city hall and that i will get his proposal and estimate no later than a week. this did not happen and my subsequent telephone calls and messages went unanswered. a couple of months later i gave up. i assumed that mr. vaden was not interested because my project was too small for him. i wished that he had told me so outright though as it would have saved me both time and frustration. as i said earlier i found mr. vaden to be a courteous and agreeable man. if my project were bigger then perhaps he would have shown more interest and been a good contractor. i will never know. in any case and as i said earlier, i would have appreciated if he told me outright that he was not interested.

I chose another vendor because the other vendor was half the price. Vaden Construction came out and just submitted the bid. He responded when we requested for a bid. I've asked them a bid on another project because they had a good review but they never did.

I had hoped he could start sooner, I first contacted him in July I think. He was reasonably priced compared to others I contacted. He was willing to work with me given my tiny budget. He always responded, even if it was later, rather than sooner. If he had not been slammed with other work my project would have started and finished sooner, but I was willing to wait for him. He caught an important mistake made on the plans by the structural engineer, which was probably a typo...but never the less important. He finished when he said he would. The only reason I would not use Steve again is I found another Contractor who is I can afford to do carpentry and everything else I need to do to finish the project. Steve is very nice and will do what you ask. I just wish I had been more educated about approaching the project and studied the plans before going forward.

Mr. Vaden was calm, professional and attentive to all aspects of the job. He was completely reliable and would be hired again or recommended for any construction or remodeling job.

Job took 3 days and was completed satisfactorily and cost slightly less than anticipated.

We trust Steven. We described what needed to be done and he did exactly what we wanted. The work was completed in a timely and professional manner.

Overall everything went very well. Steve is an easy guy to work with and he does what he says he will. The project came in under budget and I was very happy how everything turned out.
