Description of Work: Because of water flooded into our place because of an upstairs neighbors plumbing problem -- water coming through our ceiling light fixtures -- we knew we needed to have our electrical system checked out and tested for safety. One electrician told us we really needed to rewire the entire affected area -- two bedrooms and one bathroom which would have meant cutting into lots more drywall than was already affected, all that new wiring, plus taking up to a week's worth of work to get that all done. We called Scott for a second opinion and he did a fabulous job in explaining the nature of romex wiring as well as helping us to assess our real needs. We opted NOT to rewire the whole circuit, but to instead rewire to the fixture in the master bedroom that had been primarily affected -- a much smaller job. Scott also helped us to identify a solution to another electrical need that had arisen as a result of having all the dehumidifiers and fans running non-stop for a week in our place. In the end, we had the following work done: 1. Disconnect and remove existing wiring between master bedroom wall control switch and overhead ceiling outlet, 2. install new wiring, outlet box and control switches to accommodate independent control of fan and light fixture (double box for 2 switches), 3. install new ceiling fan & light fixture. 4. remove GFI circuit breaker at our main panel and install one standard circuit breaker 5. install GFI receptacle outlets in two bathrooms, the kitchen and patio (4 total)
