This company was consistently late to arrive and late to depart. The job took two days longer to complete than estimated. Although we are satisfied with the work overall, it was necessary to withhold payment for the job until the installer met our minimum expectations for workmanship and attention to detail.

They first installed a piece of glass noticeably too thin and had to be called back to put in the correct thickness. The door is a wood french door in which they left scratches. The cleanup was poor.

We had a window break at the front of our house at about 4pm the day after Christmas. Of all the shops and services I called, only Sunset Glass answered the phone. I asked if emergency service could be provided to Venice Beach, and even though they are in Pasadena, they said yes to the job. Two guys came out within an hour and a half and replaced the window expertly. Not until the next day did I hear back from any of the other places I called. Sunset is my go-to glass people now!

Our bedroom window needed a repair and we decided to have the glass and balances (those cords with counter-weights) replaced on all 3 bedroom windows at the same time. Ceasar and his his helper arrived on time and set to work. Ceasar ensured us that after finishing their work, our old windows would work like new and glide effortlessly. As Ceasar explained the work they needed to perform, it became apparent that he really knew his way around older home window repairs. As it turned out, there was many more layers of paint than was obvious upon first inspection - the windows were stuck and 'frozen' with years of paint. Ceasar advised that in order to make the windows open and shut smoothly he would need to sand off the old layers of paint and asked our permission before doing so. He and his assistant worked hard removing/sanding all the old paint. Ceasar really came through with his promise about how easily our new windows would open and shut. He even gave some after-care tips. Ceasar turned out to be a rare find these days, his workmanship was outstanding; his enthusiasm about working on the older home was refreshing. I will recommend his work to family, friends and neighbors.

I bought the house from a real estate flipper who cut every corner possible, including installing the windows poorly so they leaked like mad. The owner, Juan, came out to inspect the windows and provide an estimate. He later brought back his technician, Cesar, to provide a second opinion which resulted in a MUCH LOWER bid price! Work was done carefully and completely, work site was impeccably cleaned. I had Cesar come back to install a bathroom mirror that looks amazing.

He fixed it. It went well. He was responsive and courteous.

I called this company to have them come to my home and give me an estimate. When I first called I was surprised that they offered to come the same day, but as I was at work I could not meet them. We scheduled for the following morning, i stayed home from work to meet them. After waiting an hour past the scheduled time I called and the guy told me they had me scheduled for the next day and they could not come the day I had expected them. If they could not get their scheduling right, nor follow up, there would be no way I would hire them to work in my home.

The first appointment for Sunset to look at the problem and give an estimate was missed (they called an hour later and explained that one of thier people had a 'personal emergency' and asked if the appointment could be moved to the next day. That was fine. The owner, Juan, came out and gave an estimate of $250 to remove the door (having to remove the fixed glass panel first), replace the metal bearings and wheels, add a screen slider to the existing frame and weatherseal the fixed portion of the unit which leaked air around the edges. An appointment to do the work was scheduled for one week later. Caesar showed up on the scheduled day (though a half hour late) with an assistant. They worked for about an hour attempting to get the fixed portion of the glass door disattached and removed. They succeeded but it wasn't easy. Caesar said that the problem was that the header beam had sagged over the thirty years enough to warp the frame and put pressures on the components. After conferring with Juan they said that they could fix the issue by cutting the heights of the window frames slightly and manually adjusting some elements. The cost would be 50% more than the original estimate (so $375) plus tax. I agreed. It took several hours of work but they succeeded in all that was promised. They felt the new rollers woud be good for another twenty years (about how long the old ones had lasted) and the sagging seen was typical but usually did not continue after this long. The added screen door was carefully fit to the frame and works well. They cleaned the glass and fixed/adjusted the sliding glass door lock that I had previously installed. Overall, despite the punctuality issues, I was very satisfied with the work done.

We were very impressed. They came out to give us a bid when they said they would, and it was an excellent price. They arrived on schedule to do the work, and they did a great job. Would very highly recommend this company.

Called Jose at Sunset Glass and set up an appointment for him to come and give me an estimate of replacing a large glass picture window. Jose was prompt and on-time for the appointment and gave me a competitive estimate. We set up a time for him to come back to do the repair. The work was professional and the two workers cleaned up after themselves. The window glass was not washed upon the completion of the job, however it was explained to me that the water could/would get into the sealant and might not seal correctly. I was very happy with the job -- I rarely, if ever award straight "A"'s to anyone, however, Sunset glass and Jose deserved the grade.

They were very prompt first with the estimate and with the two days they worked. I had to remove the old panes to have the painter prime the frames before placing the new glass. Sunset Glass was helpful in working around the painter with removal on Tuesday, painter on Wednesday, and new glass installed on Thursday. Very particular on removing the old putty and installing the new putty. Juan, the owner of the company, recommended the correct glass I needed and was informative of what was to be done and in what order. They did a wonderful job and will use them again.

The estimate was given very promptly. Juan offered to come the same day. He and his installed both reviewed the job and gave me an estimate. We agreed they would return 4 days later to complete the job. 2 installers were present on the day of the job, showing up exactly on time. The job lasted 4.5 hours. They cleaned up well. I used an Angie's list coupon when I paid.

I emailed Sunset Glass explaining the problem and received a response within just a couple of hours. I had an odd-shaped broken window in my door and was sure that it would take at least several days to replace it. Sunset arrived at my house to inspect the broken glass the same day and submitted a quote by the end of business. The installer arrived first thing the following morning as promised. He was professional, friendly and efficient and took great care to thoroughly clean the work area before leaving. I was very happy with the reasonable price and the fast service.

They were very courteous and professional. Price could have been a bit cheaper but they did a good job.

They were perfect. They did a great job. They were very responsive. They were the only company we called would even do the job. They were very reasonable. They came and did the job very quickly. They were neat and tidy. They did a great job overall.

They were efficient and the installation was good. I was very pleased with their job and they completed the job on time. I like their services and will use the same in future.

They were terrific. The price was good for the job they did. It was a complicated job and in the process of doing they broke a pane of glass trying to install it was already clear to me that it was a complex job. If I had tried I would have bust it so I called them. They broke it but right away they just cut another pane. They just did it. This was tricky installation. It was going to be hard to put it, you have to bend over a piece of metal to hold in the glass and it is easy to break the glass. It was hard. This particular window has been inoperative for the last more than ten years. I thought that they were real good in so far as they really did the job. They came when they said they going to. They charged me price that they said they would. They handled a little over the price that I thought a little odd. The only real problem I had with them was that they promised me an estimate on a bunch of other windows to be replaced and they never got back to me. I called them and reminded them of the estimate and they said that they would call me back within an hour and they did not. I called them again and told them that it was bad business. They said that they had forgotten so I would not use them anymore. I liked the guys who did the work and I liked the work that they did and the price was fine but they were not responsible. They don't seem to keep their bookkeeping procedure, address and the appointment and stuff very much in order. I will not use them in the future. I have another company who was on Angies List with whom I was so satisfied. This company sent out two guys and they did real wonderful work. I asked for another estimate for another job, which needed to be done here, and they gave me an estimate on the spot. However the Sunset Glass Co did not ever bill me. I don't mind that it is fine if they want to do pro bono work. I am going to get in touch with them as I am going to get a bank loan. I am perfectly willing to accept those kinds of favors but I don?t think it is very profitable for them.

They were good and I would use them again.

I had a bird crash through my front window. I called Sunset and they had someone out in about 30 minutes. The window area was cleaned out and a new piece of glass fitted. They also replaced a second pane that had a small crack. They had everything done that day and cleaned up behind themselves.

Called the company and was given an estimate of the technician arrival and price. The window was fixed the same day. Great service.

Called on Monday afternoon to set up an appointment for a consultation for Thursday, 7/22/10, at 9AM. No one showed up after an hour. I called to see the reason for the delay. The person who answered the phone had no idea that there was an appointment set up. I, therefore, told him "no problem" and to nevermind about coming out for an estimate. Sunset Glass called back 2 hours later to apologize for missing the appointment due to a loss in the paperwork and offered to come out right away. My wife had already left the house for the day so I told them that it would no longer be necessary to come out. Sunset Glass did try to make things right but I was apprehensive to move forward with them based on the missed appointment.

It went very well outside of a hiccup in appointment times. We had originally scheduled a 9 AM appointment, but I received a call at 8:30 that they would not be able to make it at that time and that they were coming at 11 AM. If this time didn't work out for us, we could call back and reschedule. 11 AM was fine with us and they were at out house at 11:09 and fixed the shower door rather quickly.

This particular project is in Studio City and i have a glass/mirror company that we use regularly for our projects in southbay/long beach and OC areas. However being that this project is in Studio City it was a bit far for them to go. I started shopping around and was very pleased to find Juan @ Sunset Glass. He gave me a rough quote over the phone and would confirm price once he saw project. I reviewed the project with him and he understood and gave some recommendations as well. He came out to the project to review and confirm measurements. He called back to inform me everything looked good for installation. He also informed me the initial price was good. I was glad to hear that there wouldn't be any extras even though the installs were upstairs. I scheduled the install date and Juan & his team came out and did the installation with no problems. The client remarked on how good they did the install and also on how neat they were. That made me very happy!
