I had two girls that cleaned my house. I have had many housecleaners clean my house, these girls were the best by far. I had to tell the one girl to stop it was a great job and thank you. They did everything, even under my stove. They are amazing. my house has never been cleaner. They are very nice and we felt safe and I would do business with them again.

Miguel and two ladies arrived on time with their cleaning equipment. I had phoned the day before due to a no-show, and they arrived to clean within less than 24 hours. After showing him the apartment, he said the job would be $140 and would take 3-4 hours. The apartment was already neat, with beds made, but had not been vacuumed or cleaned in a while due to family illness and travel, etc. Still I knew the cleaning would take longer than 4 hours, if the job was done right, and voluntarily paid $160 since the job took 4 1/2 hours (he would have been satisfied with the original quoted amount of $140), not including tipping the two ladies. They continued with their job without tension among them though he arrived to pick them up as scheduled four hours later. I didn't sense that he was wanting them to quickly move on, and that was a relief. Seems expensive but, for me, it was well worth it, as you get what you pay for. I remained on the patio while they worked, but any time I did walk in, I was surprised to see them cleaning areas that no other cleaning company had done. They were quite thorough. I had given up on cleaning ladies due to a string of prior unpleasant experiences -- theft, in one instance; dragging a vacuum along newly painted bathroom cabinets, marring them; cleaning the paint off a stove ventilator; no shows -- incidents of that sort. Poor service experiences were actually the only reason I signed up with Angie's List in the first place. In this instance, Magic Cleaners exceeded my expectations, and I am grateful as a result. Still I will point out two items: Their vacuum cleaner does not pick up as well as my own; when they clean, they do not necessarily return items to the original place. Nevertheless, I took joy in doing so myself, knowing I had just avoided a heavy housecleaning job, and it was only 1:30p on a beautiful day!

I have used Magic Cleaners for about 3 years now. I searched high and low for a cleaning company and had many bad experiences, but thankfully someone recommended them to me. From the first, everything went very smoothly. Miguel came, gave me a very fair estimate, and I never looked back. The women are always on time, do an amazing job, work around me and the girls (I'm a stay at home mom and am usually trying to get the girls out of the house), and stay till everything is done. I also love the fact that they use green products and that they are cooperatively owned. Also, they ARE licensed, bonded, insured I believe; at least last I checked. Just in case that is important to you, as it was to me, Also FYI, once, I had a plumber installing an expensive fixture and he damaged it (what I thought were watermarks on the polished nickel were stains from some chemical he used). I'd seen the appearance of these marks as the plumber was working, but thought they'd go away when the cleaning ladies (also there at the same time) did their magic. Alas, when I got home the stains were not gone, and the plumber tried to blame the cleaners. When I called Magic Cleaners to verify my recollection of the stains already having been there, I was gratified at their response, as they assured me how much they valued my business and would make right on any item that might have been damaged by them . Of course, I knew they didn't damge the faucet and that was that, but I wanted to share that additional tidbit that illustrates the company's overall professionalism. I think that best describes this company - professional.

I was very excited to find Magic Cleaners because they are owned by their workers and use "green" products. I thought that the pricing was reasonable and wanted to move ahead with the cleaning service. However, i first asked Magic Cleaners to indicate what they meant by "green" products or to email me a list of the cleaning products they used. Although I followed up on my request with both email and a phone call, Magic Cleaners never responded to my question.

They are very very good. They are not the cheapest but they well worth it and worth every penny. They are the best.

Magic Cleaners LLC is a project of the Instituto de Educacion Popular del Sur de California, a community non-profit that organizes day laborers, domestic workers and cleaning ladies. The cleaning ladies use elbow grease and non-toxic chemicals -- nothing fancy, just vinegar with some scented oils. They come in pairs and work quickly and carefully. Miguel answers the phone and handles their schedules. Estela usually works with a more junior member of the team. They come about once a month and are flexible with my work schedule. I feel comfortable leaving for work and letting them lock up the house. Recently they helped me clean out our old apartment after we moved out: scrubbing the walls and cleaning all the gunk out of the oven. And they dusted and mopped up at our new house. While I spend more to hire Magic Cleaners, they do a better job than other house cleaners. I highly recommend them.
