This is a relatively new business and I'd highly recommend them. It is not a franchise operation--the owners are local and they know local conditions. They have created a large, beautifully designed nursery with an impressive stock of healthy plants. Employees are friendly and helpful and can be counted on for useful advice. It is a great place to visit if you are looking for garden ideas, and they have a nice collection of pots and decorative garden items. My only complaint is parking. They have a small parking lot and are located on a narrow, busy street. Be careful when crossing Lincoln Ave.!
Description of Work: We have purchased plants and garden-related products from Lincoln Ave. Nursery. We have not had anything installed or delivered by the company.

Although most online reviews of Lincoln Ave Nursery are favorable, I had a really bad experience. We bought loose soil for 3 large raised beds, about 5 truckloads full. And we bought "walk on" mulch (that's what the package said) for the area around the beds. The mulch gave us all tiny hard to extract splinters every time we walked on it, including my 5 yr old (which was really a drag, as you can imagine). Then nothing would grow in the beds. We had planters right next to the beds, same sun, same water, with different soil, which did produce. I had a garden consultant come by, and she said that the soil we had bought from Lincoln was substandard, basically way too sandy to grow veggies. So I went back to complain, and all I got was, "Oh, you're supposed to buy amendments with that soil". When I told them that HAD someone told me to buy amendments, I would have (why would I spend all that time and money and NOT buy what is needed?!!), they said ALL their employees ALWAYS say what to buy. But we were not informed (incidentally, we have bought loose soil from other places for other gardens that have not needed any extra stuff, except of course our compost, and food, as per usual and expected). Even tho one of their employees had made a mistake, they just wouldn't consider it. They weren't even nice! No apology, no offer for maybe a discount to buy those amendments, no NOTHING. Then, when I told them about the splinters, they said ,"Oh, you can't walk on that barefoot". But it says "Walk on " mulch!!! Then they said I should take it up with the manufacturer! I have to say, their attitude was appalling, and I will never shop there again. Also, my son's school is nearby and they were about to purchase a whole bunch of stuff from the nursery for their farm, but I stopped that. At least that gives me some satisfaction.

I was looking for a nursery that was somewhat close to my house with a good selection of drought tolerant plants. Not only do they have both those qualities, but a fantastic staff as well. I will continue to use them as my garden expands.
