E B Specialist Handyman Service

This is a servicer provider that does work in the city of LA without pulling a permit. The carport he built has been cited as not having a permit. He is refusing to pull a permit for me stating it is my responsibility. He never verbally explained to me that pulling a permit was my responsibility. I was told by a professional that the shingles he installed on the roof are not up to code and were installed incorrectly. They need to be replaced because there is water collecting on the top of the carport. He is ignoring my request to come over to my house and replace the shingles. This provider is unprofessional and tries to pretend he does not understand English. I would never hire this company again because he does work without pulling permits which is illegal in LA and refuses to fix his mistakes.

I had used this provider in the past and was really happy with his work. This time he set the appointment up and was a no show. I called him to inquire about when he was coming and had to reschedule the appointment for a different day because he had no one to send. The day of the next appointment he sent two men out to do the job. I purchased one big deal to have a bathroom faucet installed and an additional big deal for 2 men for 2 hours. They tried to use part of the 2 hours to install the faucet. When I objected and said I had paid separately for 2 different services one of the guys who didn't realize that I understood Spanish complained and then just stood around holding tools for the two hours while the other guy worked. Then he installed my bathroom faucet and threw out one of the crystal knobs and insisted that it wasn't in the box. Since I had checked the box before hand I expressed my displeasure. They went out to the trash and found the other knob. I would probably only use this provider again if the owner himself came.

Did it quickly and well left a little mess under the sink but good job overall

Two techs showed up . Plumbing took a while to install and the closet door was not completed because the glue needed to dry. Needed a special glue and my son went to buy it so had to wait for it . I asked if they needed some newspapers to lay the door on while it was being glued he said no . Some of the glue did get on my bedroom carpet. Well the door is still not installed because we could not get it in and I don't iknow if want to call them back.

I purchase the deal, pay thru Paypal, and make online appointment. According to the email receipt from Angie. EB Specialist will contact us on or before Oct.16,2014 but we receive no phone call whatsoever. We are very disappointed!

I had work done by Wilfredo and his crew last fall and it went great. Price was good and they did a great job. Unfortunately when I chose to have more work done, it was a disaster. He gave me a quote that was approved. I gave him the deposit to order the windows, the project was supposed to start 2 weeks later. He delayed the project another week because of a family emergency. The following week, he didn't show. I tried contacting him numerous times until he finally responded and said he was in Mexico still dealing with the family emergency. I asked him if he was still doing the project and he said he wouldn't be available. We agreed that my deposit will be returned asap. It has now turned into me trying to get my money back for weeks. He's promised that he'd deliver it and so far I haven't heard anything. Understandable that he has to deal with his family, but he should not have accepted work knowing this and should've been more honest about what was going on in regards to my project. He's wasted my time (2 months now) and has yet to give my deposit back. Disappointing.

I attempted to contact this provider at least 2-3 times and they never got back to me. I called Angie's List to reach out to this provider as well, which they did, and still have not heard a response from this provider.

He was great. I would call on him again.

I purchased the coupon for 189.00 for two technicians and they worked the two hours. It ended up being an addtional hour of work due to the hole they had to drill for the overflow. Very happy with the work performed, cleanup and the price was really great even with the additional hour needed. I will definitely hire again for more jobs needed done around my home.

The two hours went very well, Juan and Julio were very professional, friendly and efficient. They actually got through more of my to-do list than I had thought was possible in the two hours booked. The securing of furniture to walls was our main reason for calling. We simply hadn't had time to do it ourselves. These gentlemen left me with a big sigh of relief that our home is much safer now for our little one who is crawling, standing and getting into everything! I will definitely call E B Specialist Handyman Service again.

a burglar used a pry bar to break into our house. . . ruined the framing for the door as well as the lock. called EB and they came within four hours and stayed until they had finished the job. . . Wilfredo went to Home Depot for supplies and Julio stayed behind and prepped the area for new wood and lock, when he was finished he did many small odd jobs that had been bothering us. . . it was great. We got our door fixed, a new lock (keyed to our front door) and lots of other things finished. They cleaned up the area before they left! The price was very fair and we are happy with their work and appreciate them coming on such short notice. We will definitely call them again when we have another list of "to do" jobs that are beyond our capabilities.

They hung a microwave above my stove. They had to alter the cabinets and although it doesn't look like a custom job it is functional. They were professional I would hire them again to do work at my home.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It was excellent. The faucet works and we were happy with it. The installation went well. He came out immediately. There were no additional charges. We would absolutely use them again.

Julio arrived early to install our new Toto toilet. He was quick, efficient and clean. Honestly, after watching a few YouTube videos, I was thinking about tackling a DIY project to install the toilet, but this was money well spent as it was done 5x faster and cleaner than I would have done. Highly recommend them for any handyman projects in the future.

Everything was fine, they did good work. They were on time and all the work was done well. The price was reasonable and I have no complaints at all.

Wilfredo arrived exactly on time for the estimate. He carefully looked at the work to be performed and gave me a verbal estimate. He followed with a written e-mailed estimate the same day. On the day of the work, he arrived exactly on time with two workmen. He again went over the scope of the work to be performed with me. The workmen performed exactly as I would have expected -- they were meticulous, worked hard, and cleaned up at the end of the day. When the job was completed, Wilfredo went over what had been done with me. The work was to my complete satisfaction.

These guys were great. They arrived on time, cleaned up after themselves and did a great job. I will definitely use them again when I have some other jobs. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

It's not what he "did" that's the problem... scroll through the other reviews and take a look at all the Ds and Fs... they are all pretty much for the same reason: lack of professionalism, lack of reliability, lack of communication. There's something going on here. The first couple times I used him, though communication was not great, the work was done and prices were decent. Then, a couple years ago, he bid another job for me... and then DISAPPEARED WITHOUT FURTHER COMMUNICATION. Well, I had a couple jobs recently, and I figured I'd give him another chance... he completed some things, but then before the job was done he DISAPPEARED WITHOUT FURTHER COMMUNICATION... for MONTHS his voicemail was full and not accepting further messages, he didn't answer his phone, and didn't answer text messages UNTIL I texted asking "What the h*** is going on? Why can't you simply communicate?" Only then did he text back telling me that his feelings are hurt and why don't I find somebody else to finish the job. OK, so that's exactly what I've done. Bottom Line: WARNING. He and his crew are UNPROFESSIONAL and UNRELIABLE.

They arrived on time and were able to complete the job of installing a faucet I had already purchased. NO problems with the faucet since then.

I called them to schedule an appointment for the work, but no one ever got back in touch with me. Ultimately, nothing came to fruition.

I'm very happy with the service. I have them come back several times for other things. I'm very happy with them.

They did a great job; on time and on budget. They quoted a fair price, were willing to reduce the price slightly to get to my budget, and they delivered.

E B Specialist Handyman Service goofed up some stuff. They couldn't get my electrical back on so I wasn't exactly happy with them. I had to hire someone else to fix my electrical. They ended up charging me more because it took a long time for them trying to figure out something and they never did and then I had to hire someone else. They had to stay beyond the two hours. They responded very quickly. They're more of a handyman, they just weren't good on electrical but they shouldn't have volunteered in the first place then. Some of the things they fixed worked, they were good. It would have been a really good deal if they hadn't stayed the extra hour. They left me hanging. I think they really should have found a way to fix it.

Fantastic. Their level of precision was great and even knew of specifics I wouldn't have known about.

They did excellent work. They did what they said they would and within the price range.
