Thomas from Boston Brick & Stone was on-time, courteous, extremely knowledgeable and most importantly, honest. Thomas did a thorough exterior and interior inspection of the foundation of our house and the supporting structures. He inspected all of the cracks that had formed in our walls and our main entry door which has become difficult to close. With cracks in our walls and a difficult to operate door I was prepared for the worst, but I was pleasantly surprised by Thomas's honesty. He explained how his inspection did not reveal any foundation issues. He then took the time to explain how the drought was most likely responsible for the subtle changes in the level of our house. I would definitely use Boston Brick & Stone for any related work I need in the future.

Should have told me sooner he did not go to Ventura.

The worker briefly went underneath house and said he would send a report. I asked how it looked and he said not too bad.

Provider did a fine job with the chimney sweep and inspection, and the workers were punctual and very neat. I was later sent an estimate for upgrades to my fireplace totaling almost $5000. I found a local company to do the work for less than $2000. The representative at the company who ultimately did the work for me was of the opinion that Boston Brick & Stone was recommending unnecessary work.

Scam to get you to replace your chimney to the tune of $20,000. Had "inspection" done. Visually inspected our chimney on roof and from inside. Gave us lovely brochures, emailed us a "report" with pictures (stock photos and illustrations) of how they would rebuild our chimney. No written report or pictures of our chimney and any "damage". Had Lucky Sully come out for second inspection/opinion. They cleaned the chimney before camera inspection, checked stability & solidity externally, went into attic to check 2x4s & strapping. Bottom line, we had some small internal cracks which they sealed with a high temp sealer and only cosmetic stucco repair is needed. Cleaning, inspection, and sealing, $208. Peace of mind by an honest, thorough company, priceless! Beware and get a second opinion.

Perfectly arrived on time and performed all services in a superior manor. Will be signing a contract for chimney repair on Mon. James there fireplace and foundation estimator is great. Has worked with me explaining what repairs are needed as well as assisting me with the best way of rebuilding the mantel after new brick facade is installed.

People arrived on time and were very nice but found a large beehive in chimney that has to be removed before they can clean the fireplace. This is going to take some time with two other bee removal companies. After the beehive is removed we will have this vendor return to clean. We liked them and they were so nice about not being able to clean that day.

Excellent. The work was performed quickly and efficiently. Explained in detail and provided a written report with a video of the inspection. I would not hesitate to use them again.

These guys are great. Knowledgeable and skilled. Not a spec of soot or debris remained in the fireplace room. Provided all necessary information to maintain chimney and working fireplace. Will definitely use them again.

They were prompt and very professional. They were also extremely clean. The work took 2 days. Boston Brick removed the back wall area of firebox ( it was cracked and dangerous) and removed the old blade damper ( rusted). They also rebuilt the back area of firebox and placed a new blade damper with a clamp. The initial removal took quite a while (3 hours ) and they worked very hard. I thought ere would be a lot of dust etc but they were clean and very neat. They also placed a cap and fire arrestor on top of chimney.

They are very professionals and knowledgeable. showed up on time. Their team came up first and sweepped the fire place. Did very good job. Then the inspection team arrived and did 12 point camera inspection. Answered all the questions with patience and explained in detail. The best deal for the money.

I met with the foreman, Alex, on day one to go over the project and make sure we understood and were in agreement with the job specifications. The crew was originally scheduled to begin work that same day, but due to a mix-up, the individual with the demolition equipment was unavailable. Work began the following day, instead, and was completed within 3 weeks, as projected. The workers arrived on time every morning and were gone by the time I got home from work. The work area was left neat and clean at the end of each day. The quality of the work done was excellent and the new driveway adds greatly to the curb appeal and value of the house. I've had several neighbors stop by to comment on it.

The workmen were on time, professional, highly competent, and pleasant. They covered all areas of the room with plastic and moved furniture away from the work site. They cleaned up at the end of each day. The work took three days to complete, and we were very pleased with the results. At the end of the third day, after the truck was loaded up, I noticed that the spark arrestor was slightly askew. The two men pleasantly unpacked the ladder from the truck and climbed on the roof to adjust it to my liking!

I sent Boston Brick and Stone an inspection report and photos I had from an inspection company. I promptly received back a bid detailing the work that needed to be done. I was surprised to get a bid when they had not come out to look at the chimney themselves. I had to call them and inform them that there was a gate attached to the exterior of the chimney that might complicate the job. They scheduled someone to come look at it. The person they sent out admitted he had only been with them a couple of months and this was not his area of expertise. He took a couple of photos and left. A few days later they contacted me and wanted to send someone else out. This person was more knowledgeable and I got a revised bid a few days latter. I went with Parkstone Construction because the owner came out and obviously saw the issue with the gate and factored that into the bid. The bids were very close but I felt more comfortable with Parkstone.

James, the technician came on time as scheduled. He inspected my home's foundation and also looked at the foundation in my detached garage. He was very thorough and detailed in his findings a true professional. I waited a little over a week for the written estimate which seemed along time. I was pleased when I received it as it was very detailed in the scope of work to be performed and at what price. I have a few different options on my estimate which was nice to see. I would definitely use them and refer them to other people. They also inspect fireplaces so I plan to bring them back to inspect those.

We need a person who specializes in hill side houses. They gave us a referral. They were very nice over all. My only complaint was that before we determined that they couldn't help us we made several requests to schedule an apt. They are only open until 5 and don't do weekend apts. a little inconvenient for people who have full time jobs.

The representative was prompt and courteous. He provided some good ideas. The appointment was on a Friday morning and he said he would provide a plan and a cost estimate by Tuesday of the following week. He never followed through or attempted to contact me again.

After my service call, I was told that my foundation was not secure and that my fireplace was not usable because it was dangerous to use. We knew the foundation was an issue and had already had a quote for fixing it with another company. The chimney company sent out a foundation expert to tell us that the foundation needed fixing and we were given a quote. We ended up going with the original quote from another company but we really wanted the chimney company to do some other work for us and requested a quote for that. We've never heard back from them since. That's why I didn't give them an A, unfortunately.

Cleaners were highly efficient and professional as was the inspector.

Overall a great experience! The office staff was very helpful and met my scheduling needs. Good communication. The inspector who came out made a visual inspection of the exterior foundation and interior walls I had concerns about. He inspected under the house and drew a diagram of the home's exterior and where cracks were found. The inspector answered questions clearly and did not recommend any additional work be done. I was glad I had the inspection done. It provided me with peace of mind after the recent earthquake.

I queried if the coupon covered the taking up of the wall-to-wall carpet as well as its restretching and tacking down. The contracter who phoned said they wouldn't. Instead, they look for recurrent cracks in the walls and other outward evidence. I and the HOA's engineer have already done this without finding anything. The serviceman agreed that I probably didn't need further inspection. He was very honest.
