He arrived on time, asked to see all areas of concern, completed his inspection, and provided his verbal report. That night he e-mailed me a written report that i was able to supply to my landscape designer.

It appears they realized they messed up for the 28th and then tried to cover their no show by calling to confirm for the 5th - they knew this was an emergency situation. This was a huge inconvenience for me.

When contacted to schedule, was told the earliest was over 4 weeks away. This was not acceptable.

Total cost was exactly as bid - $15.5k for demo and rebuild. 3 weeks start to finish (10 October to 3 November). Fast, efficient work. Great communication. Excellent communication! We got phone calls each day from both the office (to tell us when the crew would return) and from the project lead (to tell us what had been done and what we could expect next). Every day we knew where we were in the overall project (what was done; what came next) and whether we were on schedule (on schedule, behind schedule, etc.). This was great for us! One of the reasons we went with this bid over the others, even though it was more expensive, is that it included the cost of the permits in the bid without specifically being asked to. This was important to us, especially for work on a chimney and fire place. We passed all inspections the first time around (no rework). When they were in the house, they as neat as can be. We didn't have work done on the mantle or surround; just the firebox and chimney. The stucco finish on the outside is well matched to the rest of the house. You'd never know that we had work done. I have made personal recommendations to friends and colleagues. When/if we end up needing other masonry work (fencing, patio, etc.), I'm definitely inclined to use Boston Brick & Stone again.

The service was fine. They got the job done and they did not force me into any additional repairs.

They provided us with an estimate for future work following the inspection. Everything seemed to be great.

They came on time and were very professional taking care to not create any dust or dirt in the house while performing the cleaning. They were very thorough in the cleaning and inspection process and also in explaining what they found. The fireplace is very old and had been creating problems such as smoke blowing into the room. They followed up with a detailed report describing the problems and their recommendations. I highly recommend them.

It was good. They were very professional. It took a couple of weeks go get them to come out. They are expensive.

They came and did a great chimney sweep, they were clean, informative and efficient. CATCH: it was a fishing trip for them to see what else was wrong wit my chimney so they could do the work. The estimate was 5k. The Groupon deal appears to be a loss leader. I didn't go for the additonal work but they still did a great chimney sweep.

I had an 8 AM appointment. The inspector showed up at 8:30 but the fireplace cleaners didn't arrived until 9:30. I was left with the impression that the inspector?s job was more of a salesman than an inspector. The cleaners did a good job covering furniture and the surrounding work area. They did an excellent job cleaning the fireplace.

Excellent Job! Mark and his team were very thorough. Plus they were very friendly and courteous. They took extra time to cover everything, including a special oil painting above the fireplace, so it wouldn't be damaged. They left everything clean - both inside the fireplace and in the surrounding areas. Mark explained the needed repairs in detail and the price seemed reasonable. He sent a very detailed report and followed up to make sure we were happy. Because it was summertime, and we aren't using our fireplace at the moment here in California, we decided to wait on the repairs. But when we're ready to move forward, we will definitely call Boston Brick & Stone. They know what good customer service is all about. Thank you Mark and his team!

It seemed like the crew was done very quickly. I have two fireplace hearths. The crew only cleaned one of them. They did not even approach me about the second one, even though they are back to back. They were clean and quiet. Unfortunately, because the estimate for full repairs (not just a cleaning) was so high that we had another inspector come out and he remarked that the cleaning job was poor in quality.

Workers arrived on time and did their job well. Owner/supervisor came by a few hours later to inspect their work and do a follow up for report. We received the report in a timely manner but were shocked by the price quoted for upgrade, repair and putting chimney in safe condition for use. Received follow up inquiry from company regarding their quote. I itemized and specified several questions regarding same and have not heard back from them yet. It's been two weeks and I am a bit miffed.

Waste of $49.00. Got a couple of bids for jobs that should have been FREE. That's a scam. Paying for a bid on a job. I wanted an inspection of foundation which included nothing except a bid of $6800 to bolt the foundation. Also asked for a bid on concrete work around the pool which was a whopping $14,989 higher than another higher rated Angie's listed pool and landscaping company. Yes, $14,989 higher. That's a crazy amount of money to overpay for a job. Glad I got out getting ripped by only $49.

Yes. He was thorough & knowledgeable & didn't try to 'sell' me his services. In fact, he allayed our concerns about the cracks & advised that they are more of a cosmetic than structural concern.

It was a Big Deal that I purchased from Angie's List. I am actually considering working with them. I have been talking to my insurance company regarding some things. I think they did a real good job. I haven't spent any additional yet. The person they sent out was very nice and very thorough. They were professional and knowledgeable. They were good. They did well for the deal.

This is the deal I bought from Angie's List.com. The guy showed up were very professional with nice manner. He asked for my concern in my house. He walked around the house looking for cracked wall, ceiling, and uneven flooring. Then he went underneath my house to check the foundation. He spent about 30 minutes in my house then he told me everything looks fine.

After a lot of back and forth on securing a time/date, the team came in and did the job. they suggested some non crucial improvements and tips on getting the fire operating properly.

Service provider was on time and seemed knowledgable, performed chimney inspection in professional manner. He indicated that there was a not too serious crack that should be addressed at some time in the future. I asked for an estimated for the repair and never got any response. Since then I am getting marketing emails for chimney inspection and for other services. I emailed to let them know i recently had my chimney inspected by them and never got the estimate for the repair they said should be done, and would like no marketing emails. No response. Bad business practices.

When I finally got a hold of the company, they set up an appointment to come. Prior to coming, they sent a list of questions about the property. Once they received the reply, they cancelled claiming they do not service my area. Deal stated Ventura County but probably it was too complicated for them to handle.
