Description of Work: I purchased the big deal for a foundation inspection since my kitchen/dining room floor felt uneven. The foundation was OK but they recommended leveling the kitchen floor. Since I indicated I was doing the inspection before undertaking a kitchen remodel, they also gave me a free detailed estimate on a remodel. I did not use them for the kitchen remodel and haven't decided yet on the leveling project. They were punctual, honest, and professional.

Description of Work: The service went well. They were very responsive and gave general ideas of what we can possibly do at our new home. We have not contacted them since they came out because are waiting to sell our home. I believe we will actually go with a different company for the service. The designer was very professional and thorough.

Description of Work: A team of three came to clean out and inspect chimney for damage. They cleaned up their mess perfectly and clearly explained our chimney's health. They were highly professional. We even asked them for estimate on work we might do on separate project. I would definitely highly recommend this company. They are the best.

Description of Work: Checked foundation and earthquake retrofit. Didn't try and sell me anything I didn't need. In doing the foundation check one of the crawlspace vents was damaged, which I didn't notice until the next day. When I notified James, he came back a few days later and fixed it. Very impressed.

Description of Work: They performed a foundation inspection and were very professional and courteous. They did not try to sell me anything else and told me the foundation was fine. Because of that, I would call them again for hard scape or adding stacked stone to my fireplace.

Description of Work: I did not receive any information from them for weeks until I called, then I received a vague letter with no information. I asked for a breakdown of prices and did not receive it. I could have gotten more with an estimate from any company.

Description of Work: Due to age and earthquake damage, my chimney and firebox were rebuilt. This included installation of a new gas log set and fireplace glass door. I am so very pleased that I chose Boston Brick & Stone for this project. As I expressed to Alex, the project manager, your workers are true craftsmen. Initially, not knowing anything about a chimney rebuild, I thought the cost was high, but after seeing all the detail and labor the project entailed, the cost is reasonable and I have no regrets. The project started and concluded as projected, the crew was punctual, and both the office and project manager kept me apprised of the project's progress on a daily basis. I was told at the outset that the company wouldn't be satisfied with the project unless I was completely satisfied. Boston Brick & Stone didn't disappoint.

Description of Work: We initially paid for a chimney sweep and safety inspection. Our home is close to 60 years old & we were unwilling to use the fireplace until we had it inspected. The initial service call went very well. The inspectors were very thorough & took the time to explain what they were doing & what they were looking for. Not surprising, our chimney needed some major maintenance done. The total estimate was more than we had budgeted for. Boston's representative split the project up and rebid the job. This allowed us to have the outside potion of the chimney repaired prior to our planned roof replacement. We will definitely have this company out again to complete the rest of the maintenance. This company is not cheap, but we got what we paid for: peace of mind. The job was well done by a company that knows brick, mortar, and how to make safe and up to code chimney/fire places.

He not only measured our yard and designed our project, but really took time to listen to what we wanted and was able to translate that into a plan. All information relating to cost and procedures were outlined in writing and was reviewed with us before he left. Mark has great communication skills. Description of Work: Boston Brick & Stone did a chimney/FP inspection and cleaning. They were on time, covered everything including hanging plastic draping in front of built-in bookcases, worked efficiently and quickly, and were very polite. One small drawback: I had to look over the shoulder at the computer screen of the guy who was doing the video inspection of my chimney and I have no cd or dvd of that. They also took about 3 weeks before I received an estimate of the work they recommend doing but I suppose this was due to the Angie's List deal - they probably had a big response. Boston B&S has a reputation of being good, but expensive, so the Angie's List deal was a good chance to try them out. The estimate I received is a bit pricey but I have not yet done any comparisons so perhaps too soon to tell.

Description of Work: They were very prompt, very responsive to my changing schedule. Service was fast & VERY clean. My only issue was they were supposed to email me a quote on cost for fixing damage they discovered during the inspection, but I never heard back. Considering I probably don't have the money right now to pay for a new chimney, I haven't followed up with a phone call. All & all, excellent service.
