It took them about two hours to complete the work. There was nothing that I didn't like.

They were very old established reliable company.

It was fine. It was pretty easy to get them scheduled to come in, probably within a week. I don’t think I got all the necessary paperwork for the foundation report. So I didn’t think the foundation report was very thorough. The report wasn’t very detailed as I would have liked, it was very basic; just one paragraph and that was it. The price was good.

I was real happy with the chimney inspection and report. The same guy came out and did both on the same day. The chimney report was very thorough. The price was great. I would recommend them.

I would give them something better than an A. They were the best company that I ever dealt with for anything. I kept telling the owner Dave that I wish that they could do more things that I would do for my house. They don't do enough things. If they knew how to put in floors, I would have had them to do. They are so professional and they clean up by themselves. They are on time and they work hard. They have such a good work asset and they were so amazing. They were so well priced. The whole contract had everything that they needed to do and they did everything. They were the best company that I ever dealt with when I did the whole house. So I can tell you honestly that they were the best company. If anyone needs anything to be done outside their home, that's where they have to go to. They did such a great job and I told them all the other things that I wanted to be done. They normally do not do fencing. But they put me up with someone who does fencing. That person came out and they kept the retaining wall ready for fencing. They took care of everything. They came according to my schedules. Golden Angie's list and golden golden company.

Very well. very communicative, had received am estimate earlier (by several months) and had held off work due to cost, but when we were ready to proceed, Boston and their team came back and did a fine job, very clean and efficient and fast. The old unusable fireplace suddenly became a new center piece to the home...very pleased overall and would certainly have Boston back for any other backyard/brick projects. Fireplaces are essentially an accident waiting to happen if not placed in the hands of professionals who work very diligently to the fire codes, which Boston does. No cutting corners. Highly recommend this organization.

Everything went great. Mark came to see about inspecting, but needed to be cleaned 1st. they came back, cleaned, inspected for preparation to sell our home, did some minor repairs & installed an amazing new flue that we didn't think we'd need & love having. Everyone was nice & very aware to keep things cleaned. They were great!

After cleaning the chimney they reported the chimney needed repairs adding up to $3,475.00. I said I would get a 2nd opinion & let them know. By end of November I was contacted by B.B. & S. to say they would do it for $3,000. but only If I agreed by Nov 26. Subsequently I had another company, which is also contracted with Angie's, do repairs based on B. B. & S report. They did all for $2,400. With a 10 yr warranty.

I called for a foundation inspection and to have some cracks repaired in my house. One guy came out, crawled under my house and seemed to do a thorough inspection including pictures of what he determined were faulty repairs from the previous contractor. After about two weeks, I finally get a written report indicating that the foundation expert was going to look at the pictures and get back to me. Fast forward a few more weeks. I contact try contacting the guy who did the initial inspection only to find out he is no longer with the company. I contact the foundation guy and he makes an appointment to come and do a re-inspection. Although he did come, he clearly was not comfortable coming to my neighborhood because it was during the time of the Michael Brown/Ferguson unrest and he did not want to be anywhere near Leimert Park. This was in November 2014 and in December I emailed him to see what his estimate was. He emailed me back, said he thought he had sent me a report, apologized and I never heard from him again. He did however mention that he did not think this was something that I could present to my insurance company. Maybe that is why he never got back to me besides the fact that he did not want to be in the Crenshaw/Leimert area. Needless to say, I am looking for someone else at this point and I will be sending this same scenario to Angie's List.

We selected Boston Brick and Stone as our solar company as they have done work for us for over 10 years in other areas. So we trusted them. They gave a fair explanation of what we could expect cost and time wise for installation and ROI. We have a Cape Cod style roof with a significant pitch. Installation of 26 panels was not easy but it was done in about 2 weeks. They also handled the interface with the city and approval of installation, which in Glendale is not an easy task. At the conclusion of the work they cleaned up beautifully. After installation if I have questions they are quick with responses... including explaining the new reporting system on our bill.

The process was clearly explained and all of my questions were answered by Ron. He is very professional and exceptional in his trade. The price was extremely competitive. All of the processes from planning permission, documentation and drawings were well taken care of by them. The crew was great to work with, right on time and very professional. We already are seeing the savings. Great job by Boston Brick & Stone. Since we have introduced them to a few of our friends and neighbors, all have said the same... excellent company to work with. Highly recommend.

Excellent and thorough estimate. They even gave me a manual and brochures. I just could not afford this at the time.

It was ok. He was trying to sell me a 3000 job for the chimney.

After inspections and sweeps from 3 other companies, I asked for someone to come out to look into having a chimney liner and damper installed. Imagine my disappointment when I was told that the chimney was not built to code and that it would need to be torn down and rebuilt! The home was built in the early 1920s so I can't see how the original builders could have foreseen that they would need to build everything to meet code in 2014. What's worse is that there are several cost-effective solutions OTHER THAN A COMPLETE REBUILD to safely bring the chimney back into safe working order. Out of all the different companies that I had come out to bid I have to say this was the worst fishing expedition I had to experience. To say that if not the company, then at least the person who came out, is counting on a homeowner not knowing the difference between grandfathered construction standards and modern code, or even of doing their homework beforehand is egregious as I had expected better based on the reviews here as well as other recommendations.

John Willis, a representative of the company, came on time. He explained the me his procedure and quickly got to work. I was in the middle of completing a transaction with another service company so I left John to do his work. After John was done, he gave me a general overall report and promised to provide me with a detailed report later. The news was not good, but I now have a detailed description of the problems. One thing John hasn't done is follow up with an estimate for repairs - though some of that is on me as I have not been in a hurry to make repairs. John was very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable.

The work went will. Some of the brick did not lay correctly and they redid to bricking without any problems. I would use them again.

Communication could have been better. He tried to find an optimal date to assist me but was too busy to fit me in.

When the inspector from this company was here, I asked him to itemize everything for me on the estimate. He did not. He sent me a massive report full of repairs, but nothing was itemized by price as I had requested. I called the company and spoke with a manager, and he never responded and would just not itemize the estimate for me. I will not be working them because of this.

Timely and punctual at a great rate.

Told us it was built wrong?? And that they would contact us with a solution and not to use until then. Two months later, no contact/follow-up from the company at all. I would think this is not the way to conduct business.

I found the team at Boston to be highly responsive, courteous and very professional. The inspection and subsequent estimate was not only completed with extreme attention to detail but was also completed in timely manner. While I have not completed the work yet I can tell just by their professionalism and willingness to provide all the details and facts about city codes tells me this team has their stuff together and will do an amazing job. I have seen some of their work at other places in the region and was very impressed. They are probably not the cheapest around but you get what you pay for and in this case it's quality workmanship.

Brickstone was ontime, professional, courteous, and fast. They let me know that my foundation was in good shape. They did not try to upsell me on any other services.
