They arrived right on time. Checked the problem and quoted a price of $220 to unclog the drain, with a AAA discount bringing my total to $198. Did the repairs quickly. However, I feel the price that I was charged was high. He simply removed a part of the pipe and cleaned it out. This was my mistake because I was anxious to have the repair done and didn't get other estimates. Then they gave me a list of other suggested repairs. Needless to say, that won't be happening. In the future I will practice more diligence. To be clear, there was no problem with their work, just their price.

Ray and Marty and José, plus the guys who blew in the liner, were an outstanding team. Everyone was always where they said they would be, when they said, doing exactly what they told us they would be doing. They worked with the City to complete Permit process and all inspections. They made a very stressful plumbing situation as easy as it could have been. They were on time, friendly, honest, open, competent, and professional. We are pleased with the completed work and grateful for their craftsmenship!
Description of Work: Our main sewer line was completely impacted by the neighborhood trees' roots (we don't have any trees in our front yard.). The clay pipe had to be cleaned out and replaced and lined from clean out to city connection. Work was in and off for four days, but we were only without sewer for four hours wile the liner cured.

Fantastic service. Three days ago I checked my California cellar, just a 15x15 pit dug into the ground beneath the flooring, where the original builders of the house had installed the hot water heater and air conditioning. Found three inches of water filling the space. We've used Rescue Rooter before with excellent results, so we gave them a call. Specialist CORY DAVIS came to the house and examined the issue. He was very professional and friendly. He pointed out where the water heater had ruptured, and then traced along the piping to show us pinholes in the copper piping that had sealed up because we had hard water. He gave us several options and never tried to hard sell us. We decided to shut off the water heater -- it was impossible to remove -- go tankless, and replace the copper. Although several workers were here at the house over the course of the job, SHON BOLO and EDWIN RAVALES were the primaries. They were always on time, courteous to a fault, and walked us through all the work they'd be doing. Although we had access under the house through the large trapdoor in our pantry, they insisted on using the outside crawlspace access so they wouldn't bother us! They worked under the house in 90 degree weather for three days and never once asked us for water or disturbed us. We wound up forcing water on them. The job was very difficult due to the original pipe layout of the house, so they wound up staying hours late on the job each day. "We promised you the hot water would be on by Friday," they said, "and we'll get it there." We did a comparison of prices for this major job, and although it was not cheap it was not noticeably larger than other estimates we found. But the money was not the point. While we were regular customers of Rescue Rooter before, the level of service Cory, Shon and Edwin provided has made us lifetime customers. We'll recommend Rescue Rooter to all of our friends.

On the morning of August 29th, 2015, I discovered that the kitchen sink was clogged. Nothing else (shower, tub, bathroom sink, laundry room basin, or toilet had any problem functioning correctly). I tried various methods to fix the problem, but was not successful. Since I had done business in the past with Rescue Rooter, I decided to contact them to resolve the problem. Initially, they sent out one repair person. He inspected all areas of the house that could be negatively affected by the clog, and found the same thing that I did ? that everything all worked correctly. Within 20 minutes, another Rescue Rooter truck had arrived. There were now 2 service people working on this problem. They ran a camera / line down through the (front side of the house on the lawn) clear out to the water main. They showed me a picture of some roots that had grown into the pipe. By no means were these roots clogging the pipe, however it was clear that they could become a potential problem in a few years. At this point I was getting confused. When I asked them why everything else on the house worked, I got a vague answer about ?gravity in the kitchen?. They stated that if they ran a line through the clear out to the city water main, that that should clear up the problem. They also said that I REALLY needed to replace the pipe going from my from trap to the city waiter main (at the cost of nearly $6,000.00). By now I didn?t know what to believe. I told them that I didn?t want to do that. They stated that the minimal cost to fix the sink clog problem was $1600.00. I foolishly signed the agreement and allowed them to do their thing. I noticed that they suddenly turned their attention to working under the kitchen sink (yes, they did run a snake through from the front clear out to the city water main). The clog was cleared up after that?Name on receipt was Jose I. I later had a conversation about this experience with a Contractor whom I have done business with over the years. He felt I was taken advantage of ? I totally agree. My mistake was not being patient and getting a second opinion. I would definitely recommend that when dealing with large plumbing companies to get as second opinion if the situation allows.

A good Spanish-speaking plumber able to fix broken pipes, snake pipes clean, and fix broken sprinklers. He could identify the tree whose roots broke the pipe that was necessary for the sewer ejector pump to work properly. Their work on the connecting pipes where the water flows strongly was not done well. In just two months the pipes broke, and have been having to use water very sparingly. The office did not phone to notify that the plumber was on his way. I would not hire them again. I have a good plumber that someone recommended to me.

City inspector told me they had not repiped everything; had only replaced sections. So Rescue Rooter argued their contract was for only supplying water to fixtures and not all of the pipes needing replacement and to replace all would cost a lot more money. I agreed to pay more for the job to be completed. The job altogether took close to 3 weeks. During this time the lead worker was extremely difficult to communicate with and did insult me by stating that I was very hard to work with. His lead person was very communicative and very responsive in correcting problems that the other guy created. It was a lot of money, the mess and dust was tough to live with and I had hired them on a emergency because I had a leak under my foundation that had to be dealt with. I'm not sure they would be my first choice in a non-emergency.

My regular plumber's snake wasn't long enough so he suggested I call a service with a double length cable (200 feet). I called Rescue Rooter and explained. They said they'd send someone out that night with the right equipment. The guy came, didn't have the double length. He told me the charge would have been about $400 but I should really have a Jetter (hydro powere water jet) and he could come back in the morning and do it for $900. Next morning I called Rooter Alert - great reviews on Angies list, and they did it for $300 total. And guaranteed for 3 years.

They had a good grade on Angie’s List. We spent $600 for their services. We knew that there was a leak the night before and we turned off the water. They said that they could repair the line where they found the leak, but they also said that they had to re-pipe the whole house. They were pressurizing us for re-piping the house on Thanksgiving morning which was rather inappropriate. We had already re-piped the house and half of our house was built in 1999. There were two bathrooms that we had redone 3 years ago and the kitchen was redone two years ago. So, there are only a few copper pipes under our house which have not been replaced in the last 10 years and yet they were pressurizing us to re-pipe our whole house. I felt that was pretty unethical. I asked them what made them think like that and they asked me to look at the pipe. They said that they couldn’t guarantee. I asked them as to what they exactly meant by re-piping. So, the guy said that they would go under the house and replace all the copper lines. Then he said that they go up in the walls, pull them out of the walls and re-pipe all the way up to the faucets in the house. I told them that it was not needed. They asked me as to how I knew about that. So, I told them that I was there watching the people replace the copper pipes. We moved everything in the kitchen and we moved everything in the bathrooms. This part of the house which is about 900 square feet is new. I told them that there were only a couple of pipes under the house that had to be replaced and not all the pipes. They were a little taken aback by that. They didn’t know I knew. They must have thought that we would give them the go ahead to re-pipe our house. It was a little absurd. I said thank you to them. I asked them to fix the pipe and get out of my house. I wouldn’t be calling them anymore. I don’t know about the quality of their work since I didn’t go under the house and look. I guess it is okay since it’s not leaking. They say that they respond in an hour and it took them two hours. They were punctual. It was so unprofessional for them to say that they had to re-pipe all the pipes under the house. I was disappointed with them. I think it would have been $300 if we called somebody else out the next day.

He rootered it and it started filling even more slowly. Not only did he not fix it he broke the stopper. They did not fix it. They charged me $651.51 and just left. They also rootered out a bathtub downstairs on a different occassion. I have brass faucets. They got acid on the faucets and ruined them as well. They never fix things and they charge a fortune. I would not recommend them to anyone.

They were unable to unblock one sink, not that they tried particularly hard. They said we needed to replace all the pipes (quoted $4,000 to do so) and left with the sink, which had been draining slowly, now completely blocked. A friend was able to unblock the sink today in about 20 minutes.

I was happy with everything except the response time; the ad says "around 45 minutes," the lady on the phone said one hour, the guy I called after an hour said "they'll be there shortly," and it took two hours. (Normally this might not have bothered me, but it was night and I was tired.) The technicians were very polite, friendly, and efficient, and after they did the work they stuck around to make sure everything worked. So my grade is actually a B+, but I'm subtracting a little for making me wait so long. (If it's going to be two hours, just say so.) I'd use them again, though -- I was pleased with the result.
Description of Work: Came home from work to find water all over the kitchen floor coming from a corroding pipe under the sink. The night before, the sink had backed up, too. I called them around 5:20, they arrived around 7:30. The technicians snaked the drain first, and then replaced all the pipes under the sink.

Had a leaking faucet in the kitchen. It was covered by American Homeshield. They assigned Rescue Rooter (same company I think). The technician arrived and was very friendly and knowledgeable. However he couldn't fix the problem and advised that he needed to order a new faucet. It was supposed to be in within a week and they would call us. Despite repeated calls and promises to call back nothing happened. Eventually they said they ahd the part and we fixed an appointment time between 9 and 11am. Usual story, at 10.50 we called and they said he was 20 minutes away. at 12:00 we called and again he was apparently 20 minutes away. Still waiting. No excuse for such pathetic time management and a lack of respect for other people's time.

12/05/08 I called Rescue Rooter to perform a main line clean out as a routine maintenance because from 33 years of experience living in this house I do have root problems and a routine maintenance every 6 months will prevent any stoppage. Of course, it must be done correctly. The serviceman came out and started with an estimate of $388.00 to clean the main line when I told him that 6 months ago this same service cost $238.00 he offered to call his boss to see what he could do, I invited him to get in his truck and leave because I felt that he was trying to gouge me from the beginning. He then asked if I was willing to pay $288.00 for the clean out and I agreed. He ran a snake that was obviously just long enough to break free any debris or roots that had accumulated in the pipes and snaked one interior floor drain and charged me $388.00 and left. On 12/7/08 I had the most major main line back-up with raw sewage backing into a sunken tub and onto a sunken hardwood floor inside the house. I called Rescue Rooter at 3PM in a panic and was told that someone would be here within the hour, 3 phone calls and 4 hours later a different serviceman arrived and immediately started trying to sell me a new main line and rambling on about how this service call would cost me additional because the plumber, 2 days ago, didn't use the right length of cable to snake out the drain all the way to the city sewer. I had explained that I had raw sewage sitting in two areas of my house and he continued with his sell pitch. I finally had to scream at him to get the line open before the parquet flooring started to buckle. Finally he got the message and started with the right equipment to open the drain. Immediately upon reaching the blockage the line cleared. This problem was caused by the first plumber doing a shoddy job. He never even ran any water through the line after he ran his rooter. The second plumber charged me an additional $95.00 for the extra length of cable that should have be used by the first plumber. This was the worst service I have ever experienced and will never use this company. I want to emphasize that the first service call lasted about 45 minutes and the second one 30 minutes. This is not a bad wage since it is not brain surgery, so I did expect to get a thorough job. What a mess!! I will never use them again and if anyone reading this can refer a good rooter service, I am open to talking to them.

They installed a new water heater for about $2300. A week later it was not working but they sent someone to fix it. About 6 months later one of the pipes they installed was leaking hot water, then it was pouring out of the leak. We had still an active warranty for the water heater installation. I called Rescue Rooter and it took 5 phone calls and 2 days to get a plumber to my house for the repair.

This company was dispatched by American Home Shield as my house was still under a one year warranty purchased by the sellers. The technician diagnosed the problem, but told me that the plumbing was not up to code and that a flexible pipe needed to be replaced with a hard copper pipe. This work was estimated to cost $380. 3 other plumbers told me the flexible pipe was code, and the work was done for $97.

Their estimate was $250; this is for a job that normally costs less than $100. They said it would cost this much because of the set-up in the condo. My husband just wanted to get the drain cleared so he gave them the OK to fix the drain at that cost. In all fairness to them, they did fix the problem. However, they also said that the problem was not due to a "common" drain, yet they also said they snaked out for 100 feet, which definitely would have hit common drains.
Description of Work: We live in a condo and our kitchen sink drain was clogged. Usually this is due to a problem in a common pipe. Normally, we would go through our association. They contact the plumber and pay him, then charge the cost equally to the units that share the pipe. Our share is usually about $40, but I didn't feel like hassling with the association so we decided to just handle the problem ourselves. My husband contacted Rescue Rooter because he mistook their name for American Rooter who we had used before. American Rooter charged us $87.50 last year for the same job. My neighbor said Rescue Rooter charged him $80 to fix several drains at his business.
