Description of Work: Needed a clothes dryer repaired. They sent out a very good repairman who found out that the part that was broken would cost over $200. Suggested we look at their refurbished machines. We chose one that kinda/sorta matches our washer and they delivered it when they said they would. It works just fine.

+ -1 moreThe scratches had been fixed when I initially purchased the machine, but because the painted area had not been adequately cleaned before painting, the paint had started to come off. The outside of the washer tub, too, had not been cleaned quite as well as it should have been, so that the first loads of laundry I washed had tiny bits of dirt clinging to them. Other than these minor problems, however, both the washer and the dryer have been working very well. The purchase price was high compared to prices other local businesses charge, but the extra cost includes a 1-year warranty with honest, reliable service. Also, Hudson's is extremely professional and courteous. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
Description of Work: A technician repainted a scratched lid on a reconditioned washer I had purchased from Hudson's, along with a dryer, several months before. Because the washer and dryer were still under warranty, there was no charge for this service. The problem was handled promptly, competently, and courteously.

+ 0 moreWe purchased a Fridge from Hudson's. This particular model had some problems so they sent out their professionals to try to fix it. They couldn't fix it here so had to take it into the shop. Hudson's gave us an interim Fridge to use while ours awaited a part. The folks at Hudson's are great, they did everything they could to try to fix the problems we had. It wasn't their fault that the unit was a lemon however I would have appreciated a swap for another brand or style that didn't have so many problems. We were told that would have been a last resort. After months of going back and forth with this Unit the problems were finally solved. They WILL stand by the products they sell.
Description of Work: Our Ice maker wasn't working so he came out and fixed it on the spot!

I called Hudson's and a repairman came that afternoon, examined the refrig and explained exactly what was wrong, saying he could apply a short-term fix that might last days, weeks, or even months. Not being much of a gambler, that afternoon I went to Hudson's to see what refrigerators they had to offer. I found one, pretty much exactly what I wanted (Whirlpool, the same as my old one) at a very good price and ordered it. It was delivered and installed within 7 days. So far, I've had no problems with it, but if I do, I have purchased Hudson's extended service guarantee, which I also feel is a good value. Both the serviceman and the people at the store were knowledgeable and I was and am completely happy with this business.
Description of Work: Temporary repair of my 20+ year old refrigerator after complete explanation of the problem. Purchase from the store of a new side-by-side Whirlpool refrigerator. Appliance delivered on day promised and was set up completely. Old refrigerator taken away.

+ 0 moreMy 18 year old refrigerator has been making extra noises for a while, so I decided to act preemptively and replace it. I talked at length with the store manager, Nick, and we discussed various options. My refrigerator is a Kitchen Aid--a $1,000 dollar machine in 1995, and I was looking at a considerably cheaper Maytag. He didn't have the model I was attracted to, so he ordered one for stock so I could see it. When I was able to compare the two, I decided that It'd be worth a service call to see if my refrigerator could be repaired. Nick's response was, "That's just what I would do..." I scheduled a service call for this week and I'll know if he can cure the problem. (My noise is intermittent, so I'm making a video for the tech to listen to in case he can't hear the noise when he gets here.) I'm very pleased with the whole experience at Hudson's.
Description of Work: No service yet except for extensive time spent with the manager.

It never really defrosted, to did the old tried and true method....turn off refrigerator open freezer door and stand the fan in front for three hours. This will defost all...due this every three months and then call Hudson's Appliance. Or better yet call Hudson's at the first sign of trouble.
Description of Work: The technician found bad connection at evaporter connector interface. Tightened the connector and it has worked ever since. I am so grateful that the job was done quickly, efficiently and at the reasonable cost.

Description of Work: When I tell you that Mike came out and worked on my dishwasher a total of 5 times you have to take into account that I have solar panels, so I have a special discount with PG & E so I can only run my major appliances until noon or after 6pm. That taken into account this is my story. Mike came out and from Hudson's Appliance and I said I really did not want to get a new dishwasher but mine was not working properly. He took it apart, checked several things and couldn't find the problem, suggested I check the hot water heater, gave me a 60 day open work order and left. I called him after I had the water heater checked, there was an external pump that took up a lot of power and the water heater guy unplugged that, then I called Mike back. He tried again. To make a long story short because of my not wanting to run the dishwasher to test it out once he did something to it until after 6pm, it took a few more tries, but Mike refused to give up, he tried everything. He even gave me his cell phone so I could call at night and tell him if we were successful. It finally worked and now it looks like it's been bleached clean, the dishes actually squeak, it works better than new. Throughout the entire ordeal Mike was patient, professional, clean, punctual and always explained everything he was doing. Hats off to Mike and Hudson's.
