It went excellent. They were very professional and always on time. They worked within the time frame. The people coming in to my house were trustworthy and they were very professional.

I submitted a Request for Quote via Angie's List on July 8. No response. I went to the Kitchen and Bath Company of Palo Alto web site and submitted a Request for Quote there a couple of days later. No response. Two days ago (July 14) I called and left a voice mail message asking if he could please respond. No response. I live in Palo Alto and would like to support a local business, but he simply hasn't responded. Maybe he's out of business? Angie's List folks - do you periodically check these things?

It went great, all things considered. Tim is a very nice, honest man, and he was true to his word. All told we replaced two windows, installed lighting and ventilation through the roof, tiled the floor, added new tiling in the master shower, new fancy glass door, new drain pipe down to the crawl space for the second sink in the master bath (the original drain was not to code for all three sinks up stairs) new fancy vanities from Wayfair, new mirrors and medicine cabinets, and toilet in the guest bathroom, and associated fixtures. He provided a detailed spreadsheet listing all (predictable) expenses ahead of time. I am an absentee landlord and worked with me remotely and my tenants who were minimally disrupted. He handled all permits and inspections. I trusted him to select various materials as much as I could, largely based on previous Angie’s List reviews. THANK YOU! Of course, it was very expensive, but I understand (1) California Bay Area labor is expensive and (2) I needed someone I could trust to do the work right, and I was willing to pay for that.

Prior to the work, we received a detailed breakdown of all costs. This made it easy to decide to add or delete. All of the subs were good, on time and efficient. The work was great. Tim was a delight.

I did a complete kitchen remodel which included a wall removal. The renovation was on a very tight timeline. Remodeling is a two way street, you need to be be on top of your action items as is the contractor. Tim was very professional and a great contractor to work with, there were no surprises and everything was completed on-time and on schedule. If I have another remodeling or construction job, I will go with Tim; he is the best.

Excellent work. Period..The work was done on time and on budget. Tim Hmelar is a rare find in Palo Alto - an honest contractor who keeps his work, and exceeds expectations. He has an eye for detail that I haven't seen since I had work done in my former home in Germany.

Kitchen and Bath Co. of Palo Alto gutted my kitchen down to the studs on January 2, 2017 and I was back cooking 6 weeks later. Each morning Frank and his team arrived, answered all of my crazy concerns that kept me up the night before, explained what they were doing that day, and found solutions if something needed to change. This is a kitchen I plan on cooking in for the next 20 years and I've loved the first year. As one of me friends said "you have a rock star kitchen".

It went beyond our expectations. He reported every issue he found with the building. He knew all the building codes. Tim is overall an above and beyond person and I absolutely recommend him.

Competent, efficient, high quality. Extremely helpful in assisting with tile and fixture selection. Always pleasant and responsive. We are very satisfied customers!

I appreciated Tim's knowledge about the many choices that need to be made in a kitchen remodel project, but most of all his patience in my making these decisions. The Kitchen and Bath Company of Palo Alto is professional and customer oriented. Tim is great at translating the technical to the understandable. The work was completed as scheduled. After the work was completed, we called back about a problem we thought it was related to the kitchen remodel work. The Kitchen and Bath Company of Palo Alto responded right away, come to assess our concern. It turns out it was not related to their work. Nevertheless, they spent time helping us resolve it. The kitchen remodel was a major expense for us. It was great to work with a company with integrity and competent people who know what they are doing.

We got off to a slow start (the cabinets were delayed by months - not having anything to do with the contractors.) . Tim, Frank and Adan were extremely responsive, unshakable and incredibly creative and effective at solving issues caused by others. They are not inexpensive, but they are fair and genuinely care about client satisfaction. They were also responsive regarding the punch list (which is a weak link for many contractor / homeowner experiences)

Very very well. Tim was terrific in all ways as were his subs. Excellent communication and attention to detail and a great attitude throughout.

Tim and his team are all pros. The project went quite well. I am very satisfied.
