He replaced a personal shower hose and we asked him to fix a leaking faucet. He was not the friendliest person. He said that he did not accept credits cards. We are seniors and he did not offer a senior discount. On his company information, Angie's List indicates that Daves Plumbing accepts credit cards and offers a senior discount. Two days after his visit, the faucet was leaking again. We left messages on his voice mail and never received a call back.i
I had a separate occasion to call Dave when a pipe burst in my brother's house - he drove over immediately even though it was a weekend and helped mitigate the crisis. I am planning a house remodel which will add 2 bathrooms and a kitchen remodel - Dave is at the top of my list of potential plumbing contractors.
I noticed a negative review on this board, which prompted me to write this review. I have no idea what the story is there, but it bears no resemblance to my positive experience. I know at least 2 other people who have also had work done by Dave and would probably say the same.
I was also alerted to the fact that Daves Custom Plumbing is way behind on their rent payments. Do not make the same mistake we have in hiring Daves Custom Plumbing. Do a public records search to find out how many of Daves Custom Plumbing customers end up in court.
"We understand that it is upsetting when disputes end up in court. We tried to avoid that. Yes, we did previous work with the member and we always had a hard time getting paid, however we do not recall having any other issues due to work quality, except the last job when we were accused of damaging a phone line. We have several good reviews and customers seem to like us. However, when we don't get paid, we have to take other measurements. We understand that the member is upset that we didn't just take a pay cut because he thinks we damaged his phone lines. In fact, if the court decides' that it is our fault, we will have no problem taking the blame for it. As for right now, we have no proof. Unfortunately, there is nothing else that we can say to stop the members anger and his pursuit in trying to ruin our reputation on the internet. We usually have happy customers and we try very hard to keep them happy. We are sorry, that things went badly with the member, which left him so angry. However, bashing people on the internet or yelling at them in public is not a good outlet for anger."
