Thank you for considering Rainbow Painting! We love our story. We feel that informing you how we began is as important as letting you know how we intend to move forward with your project. We invite you to take a moment to learn our history and understand certain processes and equipment we have implemented. History Our father was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina as Juan Domingo Pernisco. He was one of 11 brothers and sisters. The family believed in the American Dream. They worked and saved together, longing to immigrate to the United States of America. Supporting each other, one by one, the family made it possible to send each sibling to the United States of America in the early 1960’s. One by one, they learned the English language and prepared to take their citizenship examination with the United States Immigration office. As each sibling became a United States citizen, they began settling in the greater Los Angeles area, each focused on learning a trade in the construction industry. One brother became a licensed concrete contractor, another a general contractor, B licensed. One brother became a licensed painter while the remaining siblings decided to be masons as well as other tradesmen. Our father was the sibling who became the General Contractor. He acquired his license with the Contractors State License Board in 1968. Juan (John) continued as a General Contractor, John’s Construction, until 1985, when he decided to follow in the footsteps of his older brother Lorenzo “Larry” Pernisco as a painter. One afternoon, John came home to his only daughter Neffer, asking her what to name the family’s new painting business. Neffer, age 5, looked up her daddy with big beautiful eyes, toting her Rainbow Brite dolly in her arms and said, “Daddy, you paint all the colors of the rainbow, like Rainbow Brite, you should name it, ‘Rainbow Painting’”.
