ESSER AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING

My wife and I have been Esser AC customers since 2021. These folks have taken good care of our older HVAC system and we have certainly appreciated the thorough, proactive maintenance and suggestions for keeping everything running smoothly. During our most recent fall tune up, we had the pleasure of meeting Joshua Ulloa. During this appointment, Joshua performed the tune up and also installed a WIFI programmable thermostat. My wife and I also appreciated he took the time to perform an attic inspection of our duct work and insulation. Joshua was efficient, professional and extremely courteous. He answered all of our questions and even went the extra mile to seal a small air gap in our air intake vent. In listening to our concerns and in answering our questions Joshua was further able to assist my wife in I with setting up a referral to obtain a quote for a new HVAC system. This quote was provided same day and my wife and I were equally impressed with the time and information provided by Michael Groves. In early 2024, the good folks at Esser AC will be installing our new efficient system and my wife and I look forward to receiving the excellent service we have found we can always count on from this team. Very good service.

This was my semi-annual maintenance. Recommendations about service additions to extend the life of my 16 year old furnaces. Took time to explain in detail findings and recommendations, which I really appreciate, especially since there was no pressure to move forward. Just information sufficient to make a decision and alternatives.

I have been a customer of Esser for over 13 years. Esser and all of their staff are beyond excellent. I recommend them and will always be their customer.

I signed a contract with them for the next year.

I don't have a lot to compare it to, since I never did that before, but they were fine. I was satisfied. They were good. They were prompt, and got right on it. The price was a little bit more than I would have liked. The quality is so far so good. Responsiveness, I would give them 5 stars and A's. That is where they really came through for me, because it was like 110 degrees. I needed an air conditioner. they got me one in one day. They did good. Their service areas were awesome. I just don't have any reference to compare the price. In every other way, they were an A. I would highlight the fact that they are responsive. You call them, you need them, they're there. They are quick. They get the job done.

Worst HVAC service ever. They 'completed' repair; we paid $250; they left premises and unit broke down within 20 mins of their departure. They returned the next day and refused to complete repair or even give estimate for further repair unless I agreed to get an estimate from yet another representative for a new unit before repair would be performed. We will NEVER use Esser again.

The installation was done correctly, but the price wasn't quoted to us until the technician arrived. We were trusting them to be reasonable (our mistake), but since we were leaving the next day, we had to agree to the price. Once we saw that the technician only had to spend a half hour at our place, and we knew the thermostat cost them about $15, I objected to the $275 bill. The technician wouldn't adjust it, but I expected someone in the office to realize the charge was unfair and reduce the price by at least $100. The lady said she would have a manager call me, but that was obviously just to get me off the phone, because no one ever called. They lost us as customers.

ESSER was to install a $12, 453 TRANE HVAC system for us. Instead they installed the wrong TRANE A/C and ran the electrical wires through rusting conduit. In the furnace, without our knowledge, they substituted a non-TRANE coil and put in a rack for a 1? filter when our contract specified a 5? filter ? then told us we should be happy with theinstall. The next day there was heavy condensation dripping from the furnace unit and connecting pipes onto our floor. The unit had not been properly insulated. When we stopped payment on their check they returned to replace the filter system, again bringing a non-TRANE filter in a cabinet smaller than the TRANE unit. They said it would work and we should be happy with it even though it was not what we ordered? they said they do this all the time! We had ESSER remove all their equipment and hired All Knight Air Conditioning and Heating to install an all TRANE system. They proceeded in a timely, professional, and neat manner to do the job ESSER was originally hired to. We recommend All Knight without reservation, and highly recommend that you stay away from ESSER ? From our experience we believe they lack the ethics and knowledge necessary to do a professional job.

I didn't think they were professional in what they were doing. I would not use them again.

He gave me a quote that it would run around $400.00. He also said it would take 4 hours to make the repair (and that?s how he came to $400.00 I could assume). When the technician came, he did not want me up with him while he was making the repair, he told me this twice. One reason is because the repair actually only took 30 minutes! When he made the repair, he tore out black, foam tube that cannot be repaired only replaced. I also found that two screws were missing that are critical, they keep the air from coming in from outside on two of the panels. I?m not sure what he did with them! I just feel as if he disrespected both the resident and the unit even though he fixed the problem. This company does things for charity so I feel as if they over charges for things. For instance, the AC unit itself cost $6,800.00. I compared it with other companies before and after and I was completely overcharged (I chose this because they were the only company who would install it in a couple of weeks, I just couldn?t stand the heat any longer). I feel very strongly that they are the worst A/C company in Palm Springs, CA. I would never recommend them.

Disaster! After using a crane to lift two huge new units on to the roof, the zones in those areas did not work at all. I noticed and pointed out to Esser that one of the new units had been damaged, most likely when craned onto the roof. Esser assured us that the unit would be replaced at no cost. We then followed their advice and paid to replace the thermostats, trace the wiring, replace ducting to those zones, all to no avail. The third zone they were never able to get up and working which had been working before their original diagnostic work. Despite calling Esser multiple times, we could get no response and it was apparent that they did not want to honor their commitment. Now two years later, a rather competent HVAC contractor finally have the zones repaired from the Esser mess. Most of the problems appear to be from unqualified technicians working on large complex systems. Unfortunately the unit that appeared to be damaged in the installation has failed and because of the nature of the damage, must be replaced. The manufacturer warranty does not cover this kind of failure. After the unresponsive and unqualified work that Esser performed, we are not going to attempt to involve them in the replacement of the damaged unit. This rather new and very large and useless unit will be craned off our roof to be replaced. I would only hope no one else will to suffer with this contractor.

The service man was unbelievably rude to me. He would not let me observe them work on the roof. They had to come back several times to make repairs after the installation. They were 5 more times to repair the leak. I had to make repairs myself. The unit was in an awkward spot and they just didn?t want work hard. Everything about them is unprofessional. They are over priced. They were rude and incompetent. They dented the duct work.

THEY'RE VERY GOOD, VERY NICE, VERY HONEST, LOCAL & A FAMILY BUSINESS. THEY'RE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT WHERE THINGS ARE. THEY GO ABOUT THEIR JOB & ARE VERY METHODIC WITHOUT GETTING IN ANYONE'S WAY. THEY ARE ALSO VERY POLITE. IT WAS A MESS WHERE THEY HAD TO WORK, BUT THESE ARE NOT COMPLAINTS, THEY ARE JUST COMMENTS.

THEY ARE VERY RELIABLE & VERY GOOD. THEY CAME OUT WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD COME OUT WHICH IS WONDERFUL. THEY CAME OUT AT THE APPOINTED TIME. IT IS STILL OPERATING & WE ARE SATISFIED.

FINALLY THEY CAME AFTER BEING RESCHEDULED 3 TIMES. I HAD TO CALL WHEN THEY DIDN'T SHOW, THEY DID NOT CALL ME. WELL IT WAS LARRY AGAIN, I GUESS HE DOES ALL THE MAINTENANCE WORK FOR ESSER, BUT CAPABLE OF PERFORMING A TUNE-UP AND AS THAT IS THAT WAS REQUIRED, OK. HE SEEMS TO TAKE HIS TIME AND DOES THE JOB RIGHT, DID MAKE SURE TO REMIND ME TO HAVE THE TUNEUP DONE MORE OFTEN AND MAKE IT A POINT TO CLEAN THE FILTERS AT LEAST EVERY OTHER MONTH AS WE HAVE DOGS AND THE BUILD UP OF THEIR HAIR IN THE FILTERS OVERWORKS THE UNIT. EVEN TOUGH I GIVE THEM AN OVERALL C RATING I WILL USE THEM AGAIN AS THEY INSTALLED OUR 3 TON UNIT AND I CAN LIVE WITH THE SCHEDULING PROBLEMS.
