Signed the contract on 02/29/2016 with the install to be within 8-12 weeks. I was swindled into paying the 2nd installment of 40% upfront so job would be completed on time. Now on week 16 with absolutely no contact. On 06/21/2016 sent message to Thom the salesman and as expected I have not received a reply. Now it looks like I have to go through the awful process on taking this to small claims court just to get my 50% payment back. They are CROOKS!!!!

(NOTE: Please check my other reviews. I leave honest reviews and treat people fairly if they treat me fairly.) HORRIFIC COAST REBATH I was referred to Pacific Coast Rebath by Home Depot and also checked them out here on Angie?s List before I contracted them. I was hoping to avoid ?contractor craziness?, but, I?m sad to report, they been nothing short of HORRIFIC. I?ll put that another way: TERRIBE, POORLY MANAGED, CONTRACTOR-LYING SACKS OF CRAP. Their salesman was all smiles and happy and salesmanship. I mentioned I didn?t want to be without the bathroom for too long and he said that we could be looking at the last week of the next month to get started (though he later told me he was ?purposefully vague? about the start date. (Isn?t that nice?) I?d done most of the tear-out, had the tile, vanity, sink, and fixtures picked out and on site, so I was mainly looking for install services. Signed the contract, gave them $1000 down (slightly more than 10%) and was told by them they?d call ?within a week? to set-up an install date. I even let them know I was interested in redoing my master bath, which the salesman measured out. Then? Crickets. (NOTE: It's now TEN WEEKS later and I still DON'T HAVE AN INSTALL DATE. No calls, an email saying I should have gotten my "welcome packet" - which I never received - and still no movement from them.) After not hearing from them for two weeks, I called them. I was asked by the receptionist if I was calling to make a second payment. No, I was looking for an install date. She asked again if I wanted to pay them more money. (Alarm bells started going off in my head. Really?!) No?I wanted an install date. This was the first sign something was off; it seemed like company policy to just start asking for MORE money upfront (which is, according to the California State Contractors? Licensing Board ILLEGAL.) Finally, after several minutes on hold, I get the brusk-sounding ?office manager? who turns out to be some contractor a**-clown. ?Look, I just got your folder this morning,? he starts with (as if I care about how inefficient their office is.) ?We can?t be out until the end of November. Your contract says 8-12 weeks.? Well, my contract clearly says ?8 weeks? written there by the salesman. I told him that was too long and maybe he could just return my deposit and I?d find somebody else. Then he really got all huffy and contractor bs-y: ?Well, um, I don?t wanna have to charge you a 20% restocking fee.? Then he pawned me off back to the salesman. I didn?t even get ?hi, how are you sir?? or a ?how can I help you today, sir??, or a ?since we keep asking for more money maybe we could be considerate of our customers?? fromthis Neanderthal. Their salesman calls me. Blah, blah, more salesman-y talk: maybe if I made another payment they could move me ?up on the list? (he actually left that message on my machine.) He said he knew they couldn?t get it done in the 8 weeks on the original contract. Never any sorry; never any ?customer is always right? treatment from this group. Nope. Just typical, worst kind of contractor behavior. Still fighting with them to get my deposit back because, well, they?re HORRIBLE, MONEY-GRUBBING MORONS. Bottom line: NEVER use these guys, NEVER call these guys, NEVER trust these guys if they tell you the sky is blue. And NEVER, EVER give them your business. Get the word out far-and-wide: like that scene from Pulp Fiction, Pacific Coast Rebath will tie you up and SCREW YOU (and they won?t even offer to lube you up unless you pay them more money down.) Don?t be their Gimp. Follow-up: I?m filing a complaint with the State Contractors? Licensing Board, with the BBB, with Home Depot, and with everyone I can talk to, come in contact with on social media, and I might take out an ad in the local paper (hey, might as well get my $1000 worth since they refuse togive it back.)
Description of Work: Supposed to do bathroom upgrade (I was providing ALL supplies: tiles, sinks, vanities, lights, etc.) I guess just doing labor was too much for them to handle.

We signed the contract for the work on April 24 and never received a telephone call from them again unless we called them first. Most of our calls were made over multiple days with no response. We had to call repeatedly in early June because we had not received an installation date. I was finally informed that the work will take 3 days, beginning on Aug 1. I called the week before the installation and the day before the installation to confirm that work would begin Aug 1 because we had to take time off from work. The receptionist confirmed both times that someone would be out between 8:00 - 9:00 on 8/1. No one showed up this day. We made numerous calls and they kept making excuses. They told us at 9:15 that he was on his way. We called again at 10:00 and they asked us to leave our house unlocked and just go to work. The installer, Chad, calls us at 11:30 and says he is one day behind and Rebath knew this. We don't know what Rebath knows because the manager won't take our calls. Chad promises to come out at 4:00 this day to drop off his supplies. He never shows up. The installers do show up the following morning but they were late. They were late each of the 3 days that they worked and left early. On day 2, I notice the shelving that I ordered is white and I had ordered a pattern. I ask Chad about it and he says that Rebath does not make this shelf anymore in a pattern so they are just going to install white. I tell him this is not acceptable because I have a contract and I paid for a patterned shelf. I receive "excuse after excuse" for the next 2 weeks. Finally on Aug 23, the owner came and installed a "custom made" shelf that is the pattern I had ordered. The 2 shelves are very nice, however, the shelf/tower that I ordered had 3 shelves and a foot rest. I now have 2 shelves and no foot rest. The other issues were mostly taken care of. The walls in one bathroom were damaged because Chad said that Rebath measured incorrectly. A few pieces of baseboard were removed. The biggest issue was that we lost water pressure in one sink after day 2. I asked Chad about it on day 3 and he said he had no idea what was wrong and couldn't help. Really? We ended up having to take care of this plumbing problem ourselves.

The installation along with the two installers did an excellent job. Very professional and made sure that everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. The sales rep. made sure everything was completed as ordered. Had a little grout issue a few days after the floor was installed where the tile met up with the hallway carpet. Pacific Coast Re-Bath came out within a day to rectify the problem. We are extremely happy with the workmanship and the attentiveness that we experienced. We are planning for them to come out to do another quote for our master bathroom project in the near future.
Description of Work: Replaced entire existing bath tub with a full size shower, new flooring, new toilet, installed new piping along with reinforced flooring. Installed new wall tile on all three sides of the shower.

The company advertises one day service with an extra day sometimes needed for bigger or more complicated work to be done. I signed a contract for a shower/tub install including new ceiling and new shower/tub fixtures. The contract was signed on Aug. 26,2011. The actual work did not start until Oct. 21. I was told, after many unreturned phone calls, that there had been some ordering delays. There was another delay regarding the ceiling panel---not measured correctly. The new shower doors arrived first but since the enclosure walls were not here we had to wait for that all to arrive. In the meantime, the shower/tub hardware were worked on and installed. The walls finally arrived and were installed but there were gaps between walls, window, and ceiling. At this point, the installer had someone else come by to help out. It was corrected by the owner at that time. All the while, I had made calls to the company regarding all that was going on and how long it was all going to take. I never got a phone call back during this whole experience. On Nov. 9 the install was completed. I had to call regarding some noise from the pipes and the hot/cold water lines had been installed backwards in the tub....I tried to get someone back out to check and finally gave up after last call to them on Dec. 1. It was not a good experience---their public relations needs some work to deal with the public. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: The job was to re-do a tub/shower with Re-Bath tub/wall enclosure, shower door, and install their hardware in tub.

Overall we feel it went as well as any construction project goes, never quite as easy as it looks or sounds.
Description of Work: We had a total rebuild/remodel of our bathroom; moving the toilet from one location to another and the sink/vanity as well. The job (in my opinion) was enormous but managed and performed by Shawn, a young man with the patience and skills like no other construction person we have ever had work in our home. His philosophy is that “if the result and appearance of the work was not good enough for his home, it was not good enough for ours”. Pacific Coast Rebath is extremely lucky to have a skilled employee such as Shawn. Our only negative comment has to do with the finish work (caulking of sink, base boards, vanity, sanding and painting). We had a HUGE problem in that area that was eventually taken care of, but I was really taken aback when a “Manager” came to review and work on those problems, making what he called “executive decisions” without discussing them with us to certain areas of the bathroom and then telling me during a conversation that if this had been a $150,000.00 bathroom remodel, vs. a $15,000.00 remodel, more attention would be paid to the “finish work” of the job. Quite a contrasting statement than that of the construction worker, Shawn. This is why we graded Professionalism "C". Our home is old, built in 1953. We have had piece work done in this bathroom throughout the years, but never completely remodeled. The bathtub, it’s surrounding, fixtures, toilet, sink, vanity and flooring are of good quality and the bathroom looks really pretty. We would like to thank Shawn, Kirsten, Kat and another lady whose name I cannot remember :-) for returning our calls and working with our schedule. We’re very happy with the end results.

They did not finish the work and I cannot get a callback from them. I've called them about 7 times. I talked to the installer last Friday. He said that he would text his boss and I never heard back from them. The installer's name was Shawn and the salesman was Alex Flores. They did a beautiful job for what they were contracted to do except they did not put in the baseboard. They ordered shower doors and they should have ordered tub doors. They piecemealed a wall; the tech told me I could just mud up that wall. The wall will crack and break when my grandkids come over if I mud it up. The job was beautiful except they did not fulfill the contract. I got two other estimates. I would probably not use them again.
Description of Work: I used Pacific Coast Re-Bath on the 22nd and 23rd of March to replace a bathtub, the surround and the flooring.
