It went remarkably well. David Johnson, the owner of the business, was on time for the appointment. I told him that neither remote worked and that I could open the garage door using the switch in the garage, but that the door would only close if I held the switch down until it closed. He looked around and then began to work. The protector lights were out of alignment, and in the morning breeze, they bobbed back and forth. They couldn't be aligned because their wires were too flimsy to hold them in place. David put a bracket on both sides of the garage to hold them in place, and now you'd have to work very hard to knock them out of alignment. Next he poked and prodded and pounded a nail in here, and a screw in there, and when he had finished, the garage door closed completely and smoothly--and there was no longer a quarter-inch gap between the garage door and the garage floor. Next David cleaned and oiled the whole unit and he adjusted the spring. The garage door had not operated so quietly when it was brand new. Next David worked on the remotes. One was actually dead. The wires were broken and partly missing. The other remote just needed some minor repair and a new battery. When David was finally finished, I had a very solidly working garage door opener with one original remote and with one brand new universal one. Someone had told me that David Johnson is a garage door guru, that he knows everything there is to know about garage doors and openers. It is true. And when he works on your system, he enlightens and instructs you about how to take care of your own unit. And all of this for a very fair price.

Dave was working nearby and came over within an hour. Very pleasant gentleman. He explained what needed to be done and why. He completed the job quickly and did not charge an exorbitant fee. I would definitely call him again.

The owner came out as stated. He was prompt and professional. We discussed my needs, and he assured me that the unit he was planning to install would fit without any issues. His quote was more than reasonable. Once I accepted his bid for the job, he arrived as planned, and efficiently removed the old garage door opener, and installed the new opener. He programed the new key pad as well as the outside keypad, and my car. He also cleaned up afterwards. They all work like a charm. I can't thank him enough for his great job.

Stopped by within 20 minutes of me calling, just for a quick look. When he first checked it out, he thought something was broken. Said he'd be back within the hour, and he was. After he got closer, he realized it wasn't as bad as he had thought. Could have easily charged me his original estimate, but didn't. Told me how to maintain the door to keep it in good working order, thus not needing to call him as often.

Our tenant backed into the garage door and bent three panels. We contacted two other garage door companies that said it would be cheaper to replace the entire garage door which originally cost $1300 because it is a very expensive HOA mandated Martin garage door. Dave, the owner of Colt, was personable, informative and professional. He said he could replace just two of the panels and still maintain the function and integrity of the door which was significantly cheaper. He explained all aspects of what needed to be done, and performed all the work himself. And he was very prompt in doing the installation since the house was being sold. Kudos to Dave!

He came and connected my automatic opener in my vehicle to my garage. He also did a full inspection on both of my garage doors, and made the doors move more smoothly with less noise. He stated that he does not leave a job unless he is satisfied that it is working optimally.

Dave, the owner, called me back within 10 minutes of leaving a message. He set an appointment time and arrived 5 minutes early. My springs were replaced, the door was lubed and balanced, and the sensors adjusted in about one hour. Outstanding service. Dave chatted the entire time, explaining everything he was doing and even provided tips for future maintenance. He even tuned-up the garage door opener and explained how to adjust it if there are any issues down the line. Overall, I was very satisfied with Dave's service and would definitely recommend him to others. Also, before calling Dave, I called two other local garage door companies that wanted $50 more for the same service, so I feel that I received a very fair price.

As I explained above, I had another Garage door company scheduled, but he did not come at the appointment time that I scheduled with him and when I called he told me he could not come the same day I needed the repairs done. My wife called David Johnson and he came right away figured out the problem and fixed it. He did a great job, and was professional. I would absolutely use Colt Garage Door Services again.

Dave was prompt, courteous and did a great job. Very knowledgeable. He fixed and tuned other parts of the door not related to the opener as well. I plan on using him again when my other opener goes out.

. He is awesome and effortlessly provided all of the work promptly. He programmed wall keypad , 2 hand held openers, and installed an outdoor entry keypad with precision at no extra charge!!

He was fast, professional, and most of all knowledgeable! Good to have someone who knows what they are doing and can explain it to you in a way you understand! Helps you feel like you're not being taking advantage of and have information for future issues that may arise. He even checked the door and its settings over so that I knew everything was in tip-top shape!!!

David was very professional and also made a few suggestions that would help the life of our garage door. He stuck to the price quoted even though he ended up changing the additional spring. He got the job done promptly; approx. 30 min. He gave me a good 20 minute heads up when he was on his way so I would be prepared for him. He put no pressure on me for any additional services, only made a few recommendations. He was open and honest and I appreciate that of a contractor. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for garage door service or replacement.

Mr Johnson was professional and through. He showed up on time and called first. he also showed me some preventative measures and what to watch for in the future. Wish all repair men were this through, nice and competent.

Provider showed up on time and with all tools and parts needed to get job done quickly and professionally. Provider called with a 15 minute window so no time was wasted waiting.

I could not get my garage door to open. The service provider showed up within 30 minutes and had my garage door fixed in no time. Some mechanism in the opener was worn out, so he replaced it. A wooden support was loose and he bolted it in place. He lubricated the tracks and hammered the tracks to get the door to open quietly. He replaced the garage door switch with a better one which is easier for me to push.

Colt arrived timely and quickly assessed the problem as well as provide basic maintenance. He educated me as far as problem areas and future maintenance. Would highly recommend.

As always Dave was very professional and honest. Dave and his Dad built our tilt up redwood garage doors in 1978. Whenever I have a problem, which has been only three times in 35 years I call Colt. Dave always responds quickly and never tries to sell you anything you don't need. He prefers to repair what you have and it always works beautifully. This time one of my garage door openers had completely stopped working. Dave discovered an original switch had worn out and he replaced it, he then serviced both openers. They are also 35 years old and are just like new again. It was a pleasure to work with Dave as always. And it is very refreshing to work with someone who is so knowledgeable and has such integrity.

One company came out and told me I needed a new garage door. Colt Garage Door Services came out and saved me a lot of money because he told me he could fix it for $70. He doesn’t charge you for services you don’t need. He’s cautious and honest. My garage door works beautifully, it doesn’t creak anymore!
