They told me, "You have to have this" like "Oh, I just did that. That would be enough for $225", "You have to put a new Scotchgard" but that was not the original quote. He looked at my house and then decided whether I can pay it or not. He basically lied. He gave me an estimate and he gave me extra service and then he said, "Oh by the way, extra service is gonna cost you". He charged me over $600 but he quoted me $355. He did come on the same day that they said they're coming. We switched to other companies and I don't want these people in my house again and one of them couldn't speak any English at all. They say "Okay" and then they're gone. He didn't speak good enough English because I asked him, "How long have you been doing this?" and he basically looked at me with a blank stare.

After the first company came, could not remove the smell after three tries and did not charge me for their efforts, I called Cleaning Plus (Frank) to come out. He had been refered to my by a mutual aquaintance who said Cleaning Plus could resolve things other companies could not. Frank came out, saw that a new pad had been put down in hopes of resolving the problem, smelled the problem in the bedroom, saw the living room carpet had been laid out on front lawn (there was no longer a smell in the living room but the odor COULD be smelled outside ). It was evident that the smell was in the carpet, not in the living room walls or pad. Frank was aware of this other company coming out and not being able to resolve the issue, but assured me that he could take care of the smell. He quoted me $485 to get rid of the smell (the first company had quoted me $90.00, but they had not been successful, so I thought, "OK, it's guaranteed.") Frank used a sweet smelling spray to get rid of the odor. I thought that he had resolved the issue but couldn't tell because the smell of the spray was so overwhelming. I left the windows open to air out the rooms, but as soon as I closed the windows in the duplex, the smell returned. I contacted Frank. He returned and tried again. The same thing happened. He came back a third time. This time I told him that if the smell was not gone, I wanted him to return my money. He told me that if I did not let him try again, he would not honor the agreement. He came back two more times! Each time, the smell returned, though the last time, it took longer to return. In all this time, I could not show the duplex. The last time he came, I told him "My fingers afre crossed that the smell is gone", left the windows open and started showing the residence. It was rented, but when the new renters closed the window, the smell again returned. I immediately had a new carpet put in. I called Frank regarding the issue and asked for a refund. He refused, coming up with a bunch of excuses. I would avoid using this company.
Description of Work: I had a year old carpet in a duplex that I had rented out and the renters had a dog which left a horrible smell. After another had tried, I hired Cleaning Plus to remove the smell after they came out and guarenteed they could do it.

On 6/28/13 I received a call from [member name removed], she explained her problem and I came to her property within an hour. I looked at her carpet and explained to her that I could remove the odor from the carpet itself, and even though the padding had previously been replaced, there might be odor in the tackstrip, floor, walls and the HVAC system! She responded that she was sure the odor was on the carpet only. We scheduled the work for the following day. I treated and removed the odor, and re-installed the living room carpet. On 7/1/13 she called and said she could smell the odor a little bit, not as much as before, so that same day I came back and treat it again. On 7/10/13 she contacted me and was demanding her money back, we both decided that I was going to look at her carpet, and when I did on 7/12/13 we both agreed to treat it again to be on the safe side because it was not determined that the odor was coming from the carpet. On 7/14/13 I made a courtesy call and I stopped by her property and treat it 1 last time to assure her that the odor was gone for good, she complained that the carpet was pulling up, even though it was not necessary our workmanship problem I offered to repair it and she refused, she said she did not want anything else from me or my company. On 7/25/13 she called and said the odor is gone, I am very happy can you come back & repair the carpet my tenants are moving in on 7/30/13, so on 7/30/13 I came and repair the carpet, she was pointing out defects that were made on the original installation, and never the less I took care of them, she also said on 7/30/13 that she was happy that the odor was gone, and I asked her if her tenants were going to move in the same day, she assured yes, I asked her if her tenants had pets and she answered yes. On 8/27/13 she demanded her money back and I explained that I could not, odors do not come back. On 9/6/13 I received a call from a friend of hers and a contractor by the name of Mark Bass and after we discussed the situation he agreed that we did what we were hired to do. To recap: We cannot offer a refund, customer did not follow protocol, walls were not painted or treated as well as tackstrip, ceiling or HVAC system, and her new tenants living in there with pets.
