ANDY'S UPHOLSTERY SHOP

I called and set up an appointment to get an estimate for labor only for reupholtsering a chair and sofa. The one positive was that the person called to say she would be late arriving for the appointment. When she came into the house, I showed her the chair and sofa, and asked for a labor only estimate. She took a picture of the chair, but not of the sofa. Nor did she take any measurements. She told me she would have to take the information back back to the shop and have "him" do an estimate. She would get back to me with the numbers. I haven't heard from anyone since.

The son works with the customers showing fabrics taking your requested work etc.and quotes the price. His father does the work. His father is truly an artist. Spoke with him directly and he was able to see the vision in my head and create stunning one of a kind chairs. Two sets with different styles that complimented each other better than expected The son was less professional. He missed two scheduled appointments and failed to request a down payment to order the fabric. Due to the wonderful result I went back to have ottoman's redone to match. The son then quoted me more then it cost for getting the first 4 chairs done. I referred my sister and the cost for her work was 3x the going local rate. I am so sad about this because the father is truly an artist. His detail and finishing are perfection.

It was a great experience. He drove in from Ventura, picked up our chairs and we had them back in a week. Perfectly done.

He replaced all springs, stuffing and a piece of the wood frame that was cracked. He covered it in the fabric I selected and obtained. He also hand applied individual nail heads to replace the old nail head trim. He lined up the fabric nap and pattern to perfection. It looks just stunning! Andy finished the piece in less than a week after he picked it up! He was here exactly on time and was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. I plan to use him to do my dining room chairs also,. Beautiful work!
