+ -1 moreIt was my good fortune to find Susan on Angie’s List. I went to Susan’s website, looked through her portfolio, and knew that my search was over. Before and after shots of ordinary gardens and yards showed their transformation into gorgeous landscapes through her designs. Susan is not only a gifted designer who loves her work, she is a delightful person. She met with me several times during the design process to make sure we were on the same wavelength. The result is a beautiful design which is now being brought to life.
Description of Work: I was overwhelmed by what years of drought had done to my yard and needed a landscape designer.

Description of Work: Susan met with us to discuss a landscape design for our back and side yards. She delivered a draft design, met with us again to discuss changes, and delivered the final design on time. We were very satisfied with the design and her responsiveness. The plan is creative and incorporated our preferences. We are in the process of implementing the plan in stages.

+ -1 moreSusan Silva came to our home and consulted with us on what our likes and dislikes were for plants, color, textures, mediums to work with and so much more that was very impressive. She listened to what we wanted. We had other contractors that wanted to tell us what to do for the work we were hiring them for, but Susan actually listened. She came again to confirm and adjust the draft plan to insure she was on track with our desires. When we saw the vision she had for our yard, she came out again to finalized the plan! All of the consults were with the Landscape Engineer and he came at no extra charge to us! We really felt like we were important the outcome of the design.
Description of Work: Wow! What a wonderful experience! Susan Silva Landscape Design did a marvelous job! I am so grateful for her expertise and bringing to life the beautiful front yard I would never have imagined! She really, really listened to me and my husband on what we wanted for our front yard. The vision she designed for us is amazing! My husband and I go out into our front yard very frequently now because it is such a nice retreat for us. We never were out in the front before our yard was so beautifully designed! The yard is much bigger than we had realized using her design! We hired her to give us an estimate and rough design as she had advertised. As promised, when we moved forward and hired her to draw the final plan, we were amazed and surprised how she discounted the plan! She completely refunded the initial consultation fee (something I have not experienced with other companies even after hiring them) and also discounted the plants for the yard! I'll say it again, wow!

+ -1 moreSusan was talkative but had few ideas. Frankly, I had more ideas than she did. The few ideas she had made no sense in terms of light exposure. The photos and other materials she has as to her prior work were few and unimpressive.Her estimate for preparing a design and related plans was higher than any other landscape designer quoted to me; the other designers are also more highly rated on Angie's List.There are a number of quality landscape designers who will come to your home, spend time with you, and provide an estimate at no cost.I see no reason to waste $95 on her.
Description of Work: Susan charges $95 to come to your home and to provide an estimate. She claims she will provide lots of useful info, tips, ideas, etc. which will make the $95 quite worthwhile.Not true, it was $95 totally wasted.

Description of Work: I have had a consultation with Susan Silva Landscape Design in June and not any work. The consultation was for backyard landscaping. They have not given me a quote.

+ -1 moreI met Susan at the Home Show in Sacramento. She is very personable and pleasant to work with. Her fee to meet and review our landscape job was $85.00 for approximately one hour which would have been applied to the job if we had decided to go ahead with it. We decided not to as the overall cost was too high for our budget. Susan was on time for our appointment, very pleasant and enthusiastic and full of good ideas. Her portfolio has many examples of jobs she has completed. I believe if we had gone forward we would have been very happy working with her, and we may still in the future. I recommend asking what a minimum price would be from any contractor before scheduling an appointment.
Description of Work: Susan met with me for a little over an hour at the job site and reviewed my landscape needs.

+ -1 moreSent an email inquiry to Silva Landscape. Received a professional and friendly return call the next morning. Set a time for her to look at my property. She came on time and gave me valuable advice plus several options to fit my vague budget. She spent almost two hours discussing and brainstorming with me. I wasn't ready to pull the trigger yet, but she was exactly what I had hoped for and needed to help me conceptualize a peaceful backyard and showy front yard.
Description of Work: I requested a consultant's fee visit to give me ideas for the front and backyard, a deck and a variety of plants grown in Mendocino that would survive in Sacramento. She was extremely helpful and generous with her time. No hard sell. And only $75.00! She was awesome.

Description of Work: I called this company over two weeks ago. I left a message on their voicemail saying I was interested in getting some landscape design work done. I left my name and number twice. They never called me back.
