ENERGY ELECTRIC

We called Marc when flipping the switch to the garbage disposal sent a cloud of smoke out from above the trash compactor accompanied by a crackling sound instead of turning on the disposal. He ended up rewiring three outlets around the kitchen sink and insulating the trash compactor so there wouldn't be another short and fire risk in the future. It looked like the original owner had simply allowed a shoddy job with a lot of free-hanging wiring behind the outlets. Would definitely call Marc and Energy Electric again if we run into any other electrical problems in the future.

I contacted Marc, the owner, about installing some kitchen light fixtures and outdoor lighting. My estimate appointment was very quick and convenient. I was given a very reasonable estimate and the work was completed within the time frame given. Marc was very pleasant and professional in his work and demeanor. The job was completed within the day scheduled and I was pleased with the outcome. About a month after the work was done, one of the lights which I had purchased for installation from Home Depot turned out to be defective. Marc came out for no charge and let me know that the light was faulty, not the installation. If I have any lighting/electrical needs in the future, I will not hesitate to contact Energy Electric.

Last night while using my garbage disposal, I could not turn it off. It just continued to run. I unplugged it under the sink and went to Angie's List to check out our local electricians. I decided (due to the many excellent reviews) to call Energy Electric this morning. I left a detailed message with his (Marc Lucatuorto-owner) answering service and he called me from the field a few minutes later. This was not an emergency. He told me he would do the job today after he finished up the job he was on. A few hours later he called to tell me he was on his way. He arrived a few minutes later and replaced the switch. He also, very kindly, removed a broken stuck light bulb from an overhead light fixture after I mentioned it to him. Very nice fellow. Professional, courteous, and very competent. This is exactly what I want and expect when I need to hire a professional. His card and the work receipt will go into my home repair file for future needs.

Marc came out and gave me an estimate for the work and did the work in the same week. Came off without a hitch. Very easy to work with work was done on time and within what he said it would cost. I will have him do more work down the line for sure...

My porch light chronically burned out, and on the same wall an interior light switch sparked when turned on and off. Therefore, I was concerned there was a safety issue with the wiring and wanted repairs as necessary and the advice of a professional electrician about the overall safety of wiring in my older home. I purchased the Angie's List Deal for two hours of electrical service for $99 figuring I could have those issues diagnosed, and if time permitted, some light fixtures installed. When scheduling the appointment Mr. Lucatuorto was very accommodating to my schedule. I assumed Mr. Lucatuorto would perform the work, however, someone working on his behalf arrived on time per our scheduled appointment. I was satisfied with the installation of the light fixtures and light switch by the worker, however I laked confidence in the expertise of the worker in assessing the condition and safety of the wiring in my home due to his contradictory statements made while working. For example, I told him that I believed my home was not grounded, and asked if that was a safety concern. He stated that every house is grounded, but upon looking, confirmed that my house was not grounded and essentially said that wasn't a bid deal. He also advised that my wiring was probably safe, yet talked about a friend with an older home that he had recommend be rewired that burned down due to an electrical issue. He even showed me photos of the burned down house on his phone. He didn't seem to be telling me this to encourage/scare me into having work done; if anything it seemed as if the was disinterested in my questions about whether additional work might be warranted (such as whether I should have my house grounded). Having determined he lacked adequate knowledge to address my concerns, I just wanted him to wrap up the installations regardless of the time remaining in the two hour appointment. If I were to consider hiring Energy Electric again I would only do so if Mr. Lucatuorto would do the work, rather than his employee.

The lights in our garage and those attached to garage outlets were flickering. Marc came out and checked the circuit. The then thoroughly checked all of the plugs and switches. He noticed a potential problem with some wiring to a switch and investigated the source. He replaced two plugs, rewiring those and another plug to the optimal configuration. He replaced a light switch. And two circuits at my request. He was helpful, informative and went the extra steps to ensure safe wiring in our garage.

Great job. The showed up on time and completed the work quickly.

Very courteous and prompt. Explained everything before he began work. He worked quickly, and did extra patch work on the drywall.

The electrical work they did was good, but there were huccup with the timing when he started the job. We got sorted out in the end.

The tecchnician was extremely responsive. The appointment was set within a week of calling and communication back and forth was excellent. The technician showed up when he said he would, did the work at the main electrical box in the back yard and was gone in a very timely manner.

They are real experts who get the job done right the first time. I also thought the rates were reasonable.

Marc arrived on time. He had to make 2 trips out to our house several weeks apart because we were not completely ready for all of the work to be done on the first trip. It was nice that he didn’t mind or charge us more for the 2nd trip. Marc was going to be working on the TV show Bathcrashers the next week so I made him pose for me to take a picture of him before he becomes famous...He didn’t even mind that! Very patient. He took care of all the electrical that was needed for the new kitchen. I changed my mind and requested to use different can lights than the one he recommended. He happily complied with my wishes, which is very nice because some contractors don’t like it when you don’t use what they want! Marc is a true craftsman when it came time to install all of the light switches and plug outlets. He took his time and looked at all the plans because the cabinets were not going to be installed for another week. Marc made sure they were all in the correct location. The cabinet installer could not believe how perfect he was with his placement of all the switches and plugs!! He installed an outlet on the side of the island cabinet and took the time to match the plug with the color of the cabinets. You can hardly notice it. One thing I want to add is that we have 2 large German Shepherds and Marc had to work around them. He was okay with that even though they made his job a little more difficult. We tried to keep them out of his way as much as possible.

Mark and his hellper arrived on time. Performed all the work that was needed. Charged us exactley what he said it would be no surprises. Did an excellent job!!

Marc and his assistant Pepe showed up on time and began work right away. They were quick and thorough and didn't seem to mind me watching the progress. When I would ask a question about the job Marc had a real "Can do" attitude about any changes I wanted. They were done in less time than I expected and when I threw a last minute request regarding the Christmas light circuit Marc and Pepe rolled with that punch and took care of it. He has to come back to finish that part because he didn't have the timer I needed. I am totally satisfied with the job! I can't wait until December to try out my new Christmas light circuit! And no more blown circuits in the kitchen, my wife loves that! If you need electrical work done in your home don't hesitate to call Energy Electric and have Marc Lucatuorto come out and save the day!

Initially, we had a little bit of a communication issue, but as soon as we got that straightened out, Marc was very efficient. Within an hour they got the job done, and everything went well overall.

I had a special flat roof whole house fan installed during the replacement of my tar and gravel roof. The roofers were not electricians so I again called on Marc and Energy Electric. The day I talked to Marc, his schedule and mine did not mesh to allow doing an estimate that day. Marc said they would be able to do the work the next day. Since they had done two other jobs for me, I knew their quality work and reasonable prices so I told them to go ahead but I wouldn't be there at the start. When I arrived, I asked them if the power could be routed differently from what they planned. Marc and Pepe were able to accomplish the reroute even though it took some creative bending of the conduit. Once again a job well done.

Had a few minor electrical issues so I called Energy Electric to send someone out to take a look. Scheduling was difficult since I work during regular business hours but unlike some other contractors they called me back and worked with me to send someone out on Saturday morning. Tech came out got things working in about an hour.

They were great. Marc improved my understanding regarding the number of lights needed and where they should be placed in each room, and then got an estimate to me by the end of the day. He got the job done very quickly, and it looks great. Besides installing 11 new lights, he also took the time to find new trim for a couple of original recessed lights from the 1950s (they were ugly, but I wanted to keep the lights to avoid having to patch holes in the ceiling), and he came back a second time to install those materials when they arrived (they would have been a real pain for me to find myself, and when he was done, the ugly old lights looked really slick and modern). I planned to have my leaky flat roof replaced. The outside unit of my heat pump is on the roof and the conduit supplying its power ran diagonally across the roof. I wanted it rerouted to run under the eave and then go through the roof at a point near the unit. The work needed it done fairly quickly so the roof work could commence. I had used Energy Electric before (after consulting Angie's list) with excellent result. Marc promptly returned my call and came out to give me an estimate (reasonable). As this was late Friday afternoon, he said they could do the work Monday morning. I asked if they could come in the afternoon as I wanted to be there and Marc agreed and Monday Marc and Pepe had the job done in about an hour. They reused the existing conduit and other items to keep the cost of materials down. When power was reapplied, the heat pump didn't start. Marc checked the connections and everything seemed OK - power was getting to the unit. Marc made a phone call to someone knowledgeable of heat pumps and learned that there is a safety delay of five minutes. After reapplying power again and waiting for five minutes the heat pump came on. Another job well done.

When a replacement stove was delivered and installed, it wasn't fully functioning. The installers traced the problem to a "missing phase in the receptacle". Later that afternoon after reading several reviews on Angie's List, I called Energy Electric - I didn't want to request a series of estimates as I was sure the cost would not be extreme and I wanted to use the stove. I told Marc it was not an emergency but Marc said they would try for the following day (I had important morning and afternoon doctor appointments). The long and short of it was they were able to find the problem (corroded ground wire in the 20+ year old conduit), replace the bad wiring and a defective receptacle, and even relocated the receptacle to a better location - all between my appointments. Although rushed, they still did a professional job and the price was reasonable.

This is the second time we have used Energy Electric for jobs around our house and Marc has been excellent both times. He's knowledgeable, neat, professional, personable, and reasonably priced. You can't ask for more. We'll definitely use Marc again the next time we need electrical work.

I found them on Angie's List and they came out right away. They gave me a quote of about $2100 to do the work. They were very professional and responsive. They had really good mannerisms and they were very experienced. I had called out three people to give me bids and they had all quoted about the same prices. I didn't go with them and used somebody else but they were good.

I was very happy with their work. When I called to make an appointment, they told me that they would have to go pick up the part without them even coming to look at the problem.

I found them on Angie's list. The price was fine. The quality of work was not excellent, because the cleanup wasn't done well, if at all. They put the instruction booklet for the new porch lighting fixture in the trash. I like to keep those. That's the only reason, otherwise, they were great. I'd have them again.
