Description of Work: PG&E had worked on their portion of the natural gas line, and when they were ready to re-pressurize the home-side of the line, their testing indicated that there was too much leakage to restart the service. Had "America's Plumbing" come out for a "free" estimate... the "estimate" was that it would cost $1,050.00 to find out what was wrong (in order to give and estimate). Also, for an additional $5,000.00 charge they would replace entire (undersized) gas line. |Chapman's Legacy came out the day after and for $150.00 repaired multiple gas-leak sites (no charge for parts, and $150.00 for over two hours of labor, including going under the house multiple times). Advised that should see if gas leak that remained (much improved) would be insignificant enough for PG&E to restore service. Next day PG&E re-tested and was satisfied, and service was restored. Chapman's Legacy had advised that they would replace all (undersized) gas line on property for $2,700.00. I had asked if PG&E was willing to restart service, would they upgrade anyway if it was their property. Chapman Legacy advised, "Well, to be honest, probably not. It would be safe and function properly if PG&E restores service." |After PG&E restored service, I had Chapman Legacy come out anyway two days later and replace entire gas line with current code size pipe at a cost of $2,700.00. Work was completed by 1:30 PM (two workers), and quality of workmanship excellent. Highly recommend Chapman Legacy !!

Description of Work: They brought our water heater up to code. It went very well. There was one contractor that quoted us over $600 to do it but Chapman's said worse case scenario, it would be $250. When he came out, it only cost us $181.

After only 30mins Kermit, the owner of Legacy Plumbing, arrived after my phone call. Our sewer pump alarm had gone off and I really needed someone who could come over quickly, because we had to stop using water in the house for fear that the tank would fill and run over. He quickly got to work and after a thorough inspection, which only took 10 mins, determined that the float switch may be going bad. However, it had started running again and appeared to have just gotten stuck. He had me run some water in the house to test the system and watched while the tank filled and the pump started to run automatically. Kermit said to keep an eye on it and if the alarm continued to go on, to call him and he would get the correct float switch and be right over to fix it. I still have his card on my desk waiting for the pump alarm to go off again. It seems like the switch is hanging on a bit longer. I really can't wait to call Legacy Plumbing back, because the most amazing part of this story is that he did not charge me a service call! He drove all the way over here, took about an hour of his time, determined the potential problem, told me to call him if it happened again and left! As soon as that alarm goes off again (and it will), I'm calling Legacy Plumber right away to do the job!

If you EVER need any plumbing work done.. These are the guys to call. Father and Son business with over 50 years combined experience.. these guys are great. Fast, courteous, knowledgeable, friendly.. you name it. Pass it along. Forget the big brand name guys.. these guys are the real ticket.

He was courteous, scheduled work around our schedule (providing an estimate and doing work after 5PM each day), and made sure the job was done right. He really knows his stuff and was willing to do whatever he could to make sure we were happy. He didn't do anything that would raise the cost without thoroughly explaining why and providing alternatives. We have an old house that was poorly done flip at one time and much of the plumbing is incorrect, which we were prepared for. My only minor qualm was that his prices were a bit above average, but, having unfortunately had a number of plumbers do work for us, I can safely say you get what you pay for with Mr. Chapman, which is to say dependability, courteousness, and quality work.
Description of Work: We hired Mr. Chapman to install a trap in our upstairs bathroom and a new faucet in our kitchen. We also asked his opinion on how to accommodate our homebrewing better in our kitchen and what some other plumbers may have done wrong on our property. He wowed us with his knowledge of the craft and did some homework for us on fixture options.

Initially, I called highly reviewed,On The Ritz plumbing, but their schedule was full for several days. Instead,they kindly referred me to Chapman's Legacy Plumbing. Kermit, the owner, was here the next day at the time I needed. He fixed the sink, but needed parts for the other repair. He returned on Saturday, which worked out great for me, repaired the faucets, and at no premium charge for weekend work. He was prompt, cordial,and did quality work. I would certainly use his service again. Kudos to On The Ritz Plumbing for a great recommendation and kudos to Chapman's Legacy Plumbing for a job well done.

I used Kermit. He did a really good job and then needed another plumber and he sent his friend, his friend’s name was Russell. Russell really did not do any work because the way it was set up it could not be done. He was really nice and he did not even charge me. Kermit was a very good plumber. He was very thorough. He explained everything, even did extra stuff that he did not have to do. I spent $300. I have had granite top put on in my kitchen, so he had to just replumb everything and put in new faucets. He redid the pipes on the bottom, which he did not have to do, but he said this is the way that were they setup originally, which was not ideal, but he redid that. He is very kind. He explains everything. He is very thorough and trustworthy. I would definitely use him again in the future.
