Description of Work: We have used Steven Bjerke for our spa repair for some time. It was very old but he kept it going over the years. I did not write a review sooner on Angie's List because Steve was our "spa repair guy" extraordinaire and we weren't going to change that. I didn't know he was on Angie's List until today so I had to write a review regarding our experiences. He is professional, dependent and competent in every way. When he told us we needed to replace, rather than repair our old one, we knew we could rely on his advice. He is the best.

Description of Work: My motor/pump was going out on our hot tub. AquaStar had already done some research on our unit before he came out and that was re assuring. He suggested two options: rebuild or replace. The rebuild option did not seem to be a good one although it was much cheaper, so the unit was replaced. Everything was neat and tidy when the job was done and it has worked fine since.

+ -1 moreI had a problem with my spa not heating to the proper temperature. Aquastar (Steve) was able to provide guidance to me via e-Mail that enabled me to fix the issue myself. This saved a service call charge and provided an education for me on spa settings and controls so I can avoid a similar problem in the future. Steve was very professional, he responded very quickly, and gave the right direction to solve the problem.
Description of Work: Provided guidance that enabled me to fix an issue myself - thus avoiding a onsite visit and avoiding possible replacement of costly components.

He found the problem very quickly, made the repair, explained the issue, and gave me the faulty part he replaced. He also answered questions I had about other issues with the spa. All done in less than an hour. His fee was very fair. I highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Steve repaired my spa on two separate occasions within past few years, most recently in March of 2014.

Description of Work: Steve, the business owner, is a one person operation but he is very good at what he does. He started by doing a diagnostic on my spa's heating elements. I have a 20+ year old Cal X spa. I found out that there are only a handful of businesses that work on older above-ground/portable spas. Altho my spa circulated the water, the water did not heat up. He quickly found the problem, fixed it and put a new light bulb in the box that had the heater re-set button. He advised that it would take 18-24 hours for the water to heat up. I am waiting to see if the water gets hot. He assured me that the heater was working.

He answered his phone the first time I called, he was available for an appointment when I needed him, he arrived on time, got right to work, completed the job very quickly, and gave me a very fair price for everything. If you need someone to do some work on your above ground hot tub you need to call Steve. You certainly won't be disappointed. I will use him again without a doubt when needed.
Description of Work: My hottub was making an excessive humming noise. Steve quickly identified my issue with the timer running the motor and blower too long and fixed it. It's a 10 year old hottub and the jets were starting to deteriorate. He had all of the parts to replace the jets and at my request he also installed a UV light to clean the water allowing me to use far less chemicals.

He was courteous and wasted no time. I paid for his trip charge ($45.00) and 30 minutes labor. His rate was $90.00/hour.
Description of Work: Repaired an over-heated circuit breaker on an in-ground SPA electric heater.
