Description of Work: Paid the $99 talked to someone at the electric co. back in Oct but they ( the electricians ) were too busy to come out the first couple of weeks..... I told them my schedule of open days and hours and was told they would get back to me ..... received a call when I was working saying they they would be in the area in a half hour and would I be able to be there ? I said I was availible 3 days a week but this was a work day - I had clearly stated by phone and email which days I could be there....I still said " OK " I'll leave work and rush home- I said I could be home in an hour because I was working so I arranged to leave work and go home but before I got there I was told that it was too late and they couldn't wait....... I told them again which days ( basically 3 week days a week ) that I could be at home and I was very flexible on those days , but they didn't call back to reschedule - I called back to see what was going on and left a message - I still never heard from them again . How do I get a refund for my $99 ? I understand sometimes people get busy - I DO TOO...I'm surprised that they are still advertising .

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for two hours of audio/video installation services. I requested to have additional work completed as well. They took all of the audio visual equipment that I had next to the TV screen, moved it into the closet, and installed a temperature ventilation system in the closet. He also helped to install an 80 inch television.

Description of Work: Steve Cavenee replaced a defective GFI in my bathroom. He also replaced a hard-wired smoke detector with a combination smoke alarm/ CO2 detector, and added battery-powered smoke alarms to both bedrooms.

Description of Work: Steve was very professional and punctual. I bought a coupon for $99 worth $200 of service. He changed a fan in the bathroom of our rental property. The total bill was $304.00 and $148 was applied towards labor with a remaining balance of $52 (future). I had to pay $156 for the materials. I am not sure when I will use the $52 balance when his rate is $84 per hour.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List Deal for $99 for $200 worth of service. We recently moved into a home and there were a number of electrical items noted in our home inspection that we wanted taken care of. They repaired 2 outdoor outlets, replaced 8 loose outlets, replaced a garbage disposal cord and repaired it's connection, secured a conduit in our kitchen island, and removed excess paper sheathing from our breaker box.

Install a new ceiling fan in the kitchen - including pulling the line from the attic, running the electrical to the kitchen, providing and hanging a heavy duty bar for the fan, assembling and hanging the fan, providing the remote.

Description of Work: Replaced bathroom fan/heating lamp, which required cutting a larger hole in the ceiling (which they patched up after install). It took about 2 hours.

Description of Work: There were two guys that serviced my request. I had a ceiling fan built and installed, exterior lighting looked at that required parts that needed to be quoted and ordered for complete fix. Guys were friendly, helpful and worked hard to get as much done as possible.

Description of Work: I initially requested for work to add an electric outlet down my driveway as I had a gate installed in the drive. The initial estimate was $600. My driveway light weren't working so I asked Steve to check it out. He didn't provide an estimate and continued the work on the electrical outlet and lights. After the work was completed, again no estimate. He and his crew left. He then emailed me the invoice resulting in $2800 to my shock!! If it would cost such a significant amount, as a professional, he should have notified me at the beginning or during the work. I never expected the bill to be almost 5X.

Description of Work: Declined services as the $99 coupon would have covered only 35 minutes of time. Definitely NOT worth the big deal or the extra money it would have cost me to hire this contractor. Dont buy a big deal ! Lesson learned after twice burned

Description of Work: Purchased a special $99 for 2 hrs electrical work. Needed various light fixtures to be checked. Doorbell replaced. One switch controlling indoor and outdoor light fixtures tested to be working needs fixture to be replaced. Planning on using again once purchase new fixtures to get installed

Description of Work: Attempted to hook up several components to a new receiver. Rewired two lamps. Added a new electrical outlet in the garage and mounted a TV.

Description of Work: I will be spending more when I receive the bill for the smoke alarms he purchased for me. I bought the big deal on Angie's List for the electrician. Steve came out first and checked the smoke alarms and we decided to replace all of them. We had an appointment to do it but I was ill and called to cancel. Then when we were well, I had trouble reaching Steve. I asked Angie's List to help and I got an appointment immediately. A young man from Steve's company came out and replaced 9 smoke alarms. Although the Big Deal was for 2 hours, he only spent 1 hour and 15 minutes. He was very competent and the new smoke alarms look a lot easier to replace the beeping battery. He also put a smoke alarm lower down in our bedroom. The original smoke alarm was in the highest corner and required a ladder. We are 59 years old and are not climbing ladders anymore.

Description of Work: Angie's list deal - and worth it . Had the electrical panel labeled, and during that time they inspected the house (even took apart a few outlets) to see that the general wiring was not only functional, but safe.

Description of Work: Got a coupon for 2 man hours of electrical work. 2 staffers showed up. One diagnosed a transformer issue with my low voltage house number lighting while the other worker try to activate a dead outlet in the patio.
