We had a little difficulty getting an appointment set due to a unforeseen emergency on our part and then one on the electrician's part but we finally arranged a convenient time and the work was done in a timely manner and to our satisfaction. The electrician's were courteous and did a good job.

The service went very well. Steve and I agreed that I am not needed on site and that one of his associates would be there in the morning to exchange or fix the faulty GFCI receptacle used to power the outdoors fountain. Everything was fixed when I came back home from work, and the fountain is working flawlessly ever since. The only issue I had with Steve's service is that it is probably a smaller establishment that cannot accommodate for sudden schedule changes. Namely, for my original appointment that should have happened a day before than it actually did, I did not suggest to Steve to just perform the service without me on premises, so I had to arrange everything with my work so that I can step out during the work day and wait for Steve's service. However, I was called right at the time of the appointment by Janelle who works with Steve to tell me that Steve won't be making it that day since the previous customer that day severely underestimated the scope of work needed to be done and he has no one else to help me out. Other than this significant inconvenience, I was very happy with Steve and his service and I will use him again.

Great job, neat, reasonable. Would definitely hire again and in fact have gotten estimates from him for other work.

Workers were on time, competent, cleaned up, and did exactly what I wished.

The original appointment was cancelled by Steve on the morning of service due to a sick employee. We rescheduled for another 8 am appointment. The electrician arrived at 8:25 am. The work itself went fine. All service requested was finished within the hour time frame.

The two guys that completed my work were FANTASTIC! They called before they came and were extremely professional. I couldn't have selected a better electrician! I HIGHLY recommend them for any electrical needs.

I met with Steve several months ago but at that time I was not ready to have the job done. We discussed very thoroughly what my options were and he never was pushy about having the job done soon. He left it up to me to contact him when I was ready. When I contacted him several months later, he was very happy and willing to get the job done whenever my schedule allowed. He was flexible and upfront with his availability. He offered to meet with me to choose the lighting and then he and his workers did the job over two afternoons while I was at work. He called me each day to give me a report on what they did and what was necessary for the final afternoon of work. I thoroughly trusted him and even when I had a question about the placement of one of the lights, because of his experience and knowledge his explanation made perfect sense and he always welcomed questions. I would highly recommend him for future work and for any neighbors who are looking for someone they can trust.

They were a little late, but finished in a very quick manner. They were quite nice and thourogh.

Was sensitive to keeping to the 2 hour time limit. Made sure everything was working fine before he left.

Steve called three times on days he was scheduled to do the work to reschedule the date he could actually do the job.

It sort of didn’t go that well. He didn’t understand contract the big deal in the first place so I had to have several discussions with him about what I had purchased for the big deal. The work itself was done pretty well, however a bunch of changes had to be done because they ordered the wrong parts. There was another issue that took them almost two months to get back and resolve. I was right at the edge of their service area, so they didn’t really want to come back and fix one minor problem. So I had to wait until it was a convenient time for them to come down and that took a couple of months and for that long, one of my wall switches was controlling lights in the wrong room. Overall, the work was done and it was taken care off but I was surprised that it was such an ordeal. I ended up getting a lot of work done so he took the big deal amount off the total bill. I got an initial estimate but they never gave me a final bill. They were supposed to prep the wall for repainting but they ran out of time during the day and I had painters scheduled to come in the day after they were supposed to be done so they could paint the rest. However, they didn’t prep the walls, so the painters had to do that and that was inconvenient and annoying. Everything they did has been working fine since they came back and fixed that last thing. The issues I had with them for most parts were minor, the painters didn’t have any problem getting the walls prepped, and it didn’t cost me anything extra. They performed the work within the estimate that they had provided but it just wasn’t in a super timely fashion. As far as the contracting experience goes, it wasn’t the worst but it wasn’t the best either. The quality of service was good and they were punctual.

Went well. Tom and assistant did in two visits and they were clean and very professional. Called if they were going to be late and explained what they were doing and how to use the new ceiling fan and generator hookup. I will call for all future electrical issues going forward. Will recommend to others.

I was unable to use the big deal due to the unprofessional first interaction I had with this service provider. I requested to have my 50" pioneer tv repositioned, raising it 3-4 inches and to also have the remotes coordinated. The company showed up to perform the service. He was listening to a radio that I asked to have turned off and also indicated this wasn't his line of work and that he would have another company a friend of his come out and perform this service. I no longer wanted to use this company for this service.

The service went very poorly. They were on time, efficient, and got the work done but the biggest issue was that they came back unannounced and asked for more money.

We purchased a big deal for the service, and it worked out fine. I didn't like the fact that they didn't cash my check right away, and I wasn't aware about it, until a week ago, when she called me, and the work was done back in April. They apparently missed the 143 Dollar check and called before depositing. I think it was a little expensive for what they were doing, but I didn't have much of a choice.

Initially, scheduling the day for this work to be done was an issue. A few telephone calls went back and forth and then they found it necessary to cancel an appointment we had made the evening before the work was to be done. In the end, however, the work was done with excellence. I am completely satisfied and enjoying the benefits of the outdoor light fixture.

It was so refreshing, no actually shocking to have a contractor come into my home and not charge me at least the service call!! Steve Cavenee was professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. My problem was a quick fix but still required his troubleshooting time, time driving to my house, and gas. Yet Steve did not charge me! Steve also was so kind as to fit me into the same day I called around the time he was getting some addition parts for "his guys" on other jobs. I highly recommend Steve Cavenee Electrical Contracting for all your electrical needs.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and we thought, in the end, the price was a little bit high for what was being done. We thought we were going to realize a savings, but really if we had gone out to a contractor and negotiated, it would have been less. There were additional charges because we had some extra work done. In the end the price came out quite a bit more than we expected. The person who did the work spent a lot more time than necessary because he was inexperienced. The quality was fine. The panels he worked on are plastic and one of there was broken, but he did not tell us. They replaced it with a plastic panel that does not quite match the other 7 panels. We are going to have to replace one or all of them, but I am not sure how we are going to do it. He should have come by in the beginning and looked at the job, but never did. Everything was handled by telephone.

They were really good. He was very flexible.

Great. When the technician went into the crawlspace to install the ceiling light, he found a potential fire hazard. The repair had to be approved by me since it would put me over the 2 hour Angie's list electrician special. I approved and the work was done very quickly.

It was okay. He was good. He came on time and finished on time. The price was a good deal. He was very professional.

The 2 assistants showed up on time (didnt expect the principal for a job like this but would have liked to meet him). Installed new fans with no problems, looks and operates great. Polite and helpful

Steve went above and beyond the call of duty for me. He even met me one morning at Lightbulbs Plus in Orange to school me on different light fixtures and bulbs and how it affects color and mood on his own time. He also met me at my home to go over the scope of work and make recommendations for my new lighting in family room. His guys were professional, clean and courteous. I would recommend Steve to anyone who wants an honest, fair priced, quality job done.
