I was very pleased with his work, his quick response and overall professionalism. His price was fair. The whole experience was very positive. He turned a crisis into a smooth resolution.

Roy's crew, Rich & Chad came out to the house & fixed all the cracks. They made it look so effortlessly. They laid floor & wall coverings so that furniture would be protected. They were very responsive to all my concerns. I am very pleased again with their work. I highly recommend them for drywall service.

Although it took a while to have Roy come over, it was worthy of the wait. Roy was honest and sincere. Highly recommended.

It was good. I purchased the initial work, and they he left and I hired the guy again separate from Angie's list for more work. He was responsive and professional, and he did a good job. Just one person came, and it took 4 hours.

He did $1800 worth of work. Basically, I have plaster walls in my house, and he did a skin coat of drywall mud over my plaster walls. Reason why that is I have wood paneling on my plaster wall's so when I took the wood paneling off it took some chunks here and there of the plaster, so he did it all nice and finished. Basically I guess you call it finished drywall. A for everything. The owner and he had 2 workers come. So there was 3 people. That was 3 days. They were responsive, they did good work, and they had a fair price. I think they did good.

Southern Counties Drywall was very efficient and professional. They patched the drywall and added wall texture. They do not provide painting services. After we had the areas painted, you cannot even tell where the patches were located. Our job was small so we paid the minimum service amount.

February 2, 2017 The executive summary is that Roy McDaniel from Southern County Drywall came out and did a poor job installing drywall on my house renovation in Laguna Hills. So, I fired him. I have now have had to spend quite a bit of time repairing cracked drywall panels and replacing those drywall panels that he installed that were not worth fixing. Needless to say I would not hire him again. Roy will claim that he has 40 years of drywall experience and his work is to "industry standard". IT IS NOT. If you want an complete explanation continue reading below. I had Roy McDaniel, Southern Counties Drywall, come out and install drywall on my house renovation in Laguna Hills. The job consisted of work in 4 different rooms for a total of 115 linear feet of approximately 8 foot high wall totaling approximately 920 square feet of wall surface. The walls had a total of 4 windows, 1 sliding glass door, and multiple power and switch outlets. I found Roy to be very personable and easy to talk to. He is a good salesman and stresses his 40 years of drywall experience. Unfortunately what Roy fails to mention is that he likes to work REALLY FAST and he is not too concerned about the quality of his work. Roy claims to work to "industry standard" but that is not the case. On my part I have over 50 years of engineering experience and over 35 years of property management experience including residential and industrial properties. I know correct drywall installation work when I see it. The day Roy came to install the drywall he and his two man crew accomplished the entire drywall installation screwed in and ready for taping in a little under 5 hours. I was surprised to see the panels installed that fast. However, the next day when I inspected the job I found out why it went in as fast as it did. Roy and his crew just brute forced the panels into place. They did not bother to measure correctly and just forced the drywall panels into position to save time. Unfortunately you cannot force drywall into place because it is very brittle and cracks and buckles if you try to do so. In so doing they cracked the drywall panel corners in 14 places, buckled or otherwise damaged the seams other panels in over 20 places, cut large gaps in the fit at interior corners, failed to overlap the outside corners on every corner leaving the corner metal beads unsupported, left 20 to 25 attachment screws too high to tape over, and installed at least 30 screws too close to the edge of the drywall panels (3/8" is the minimum distance from the screw to the edge of the panel). Because of the poor fit I had to replace all of the narrow drywall panels around all of the windows and the sliding glass door recesses. I am sure that Roy's plan was to cover up all of these defects with paper tape and joint compound so they would not be visible after the job was done. Fortunately for me I inspected to job before he was able to do that. Upon seeing what Roy's crew had done I canceled the rest of the job and fired them. Roy's answer to my complaint was that his job was to "industry standard". So, I spent some time and researched "industry standard". I found installation specifications from USG (the manufacturer of the drywall) on-line. These published "industry standards" from USG clearly detail how to install drywall and what "industry standard" is. As an engineer I work with standards and specifications all of the time. I know how to read and interpret them. Roy's work simply did not meet the true "industry standard" as specified by USG. Needles to say I cannot recommend Southern Counties Drywall for any future work. In closing I would say that if you want to just get some drywall up on the walls and you didn't care how well it is installed then Roy will be a good choice. His pricing is competitive and he is very fast. However, if you don't want a lot of hidden damage underneath the paper tape and joint compound you need to find a better contractor.

I called Roy, and sent him photos of the area that needed repair, He gave me a quote, and sent Rich the next morning. Rich arrived early and completed the work timely. Rich's work was flawless.

Is was great. Roy and his team were all down to earth, super nice and polite guys. They were punctual, did what they said they were going to do and did it on time; they also gave me the best price for the job so I was so pleased with this company. Amazing!

The team was great from start to finish. Roy was right on time for the estimate. The price was on target or lower than other bids. The team as very professional. They arrived as scheduled and kept us updated on the plan and timeframe. The communication was excellent. The workspace was kept clean and organized throughout the job. The work was completed timely, and looks great. Roy checked in after everything was completed to ensure that we were satisfied. I have an older home, with plenty of projects, and I will definitely use their services again!

Fantastic! A+++ job! I am totally satisfied. I called yesterday and spoke with Roy. I gave him a description of the work that I needed done, and I also sent photos. Roy let me know a fair ballpark price, and that he could have one of his guys, Joey, come out the next day, if that was convenient for me (it was). Joey showed up exactly at 7:30 am as we had arranged by phone, and he did the job in the time that was quoted to me.....And it was an excellent job!!! I had 5 different areas that required drywall repair. One area was due to a leak in the ceiling and was a rather large area. The other four areas that needed repair were holes. Looking at all the areas now, I would never know that there was an issue. The price came out to be slightly more than we discussed, but it was still a very fair and reasonable price for all that was done (I also didn't have a problem with this as Roy did not see the job in person, and was quoting me originally based on photos I provided). Therefore, it was not an issue for me. I'm completely satisfied and would highly recommend them. Thank you Roy & Joey from Southern Counties Drywall :)

Purchased Angie's Deal; 4 hours of drywall repair for $240. Roy was very prompt in returning my call to schedule service and was very accommodating in scheduling the repair as quickly as possible. He was very respectful of my property and did a great job masking off the work area and cleaning up afterwards. The repair came out great, would definitely use Southern Counties Drywall again for all my drywall needs.

Roy and his crew were prompt and professional. They did an excellent job installing drywall. We did not have Roy put texture on the walls since it was the garage. We painted them the next day and they came out beautiful, very even and smooth looking. His workers stayed and finished the job and made sure everything was clean and we were satisfied before they left. I would recommend and use his company again.

the cost was fair - and they did go over the time limit, but the extra charges were not prohibitive. The workers were pleasant to deal with and got to work immediately and did a great job! So pleased wit their work!
